I got mauled by a yeti once. But it was accidental. He was looking to maul that guy from the TV show The Office who looks a lot like me. I still don't know what his beef with that guy was.
I've never actually shot anything cryptozoological. (I used to be able to say I had, but then they discovered that 50' squid carcass on the Japanese coast and I got disqualified on the basis that my target was real.)

I once shot a sasquatch once, but only because i forgot to check for ammo before cleaning.
What you did not feel like being run over by a car?

Basically, it means two things; Humans have destroyed much of their habitat with urbanization and they've found that Humans throw away perfectly good food as well as feeding some pets outdoors. Foxes are generally very skittish of people and it's rare they attack pets. Just enjoy them. In fact, leave little toys out for them because sometimes they'll even play with them and you can watch from your window.

I applaud your response which is completely reasonable.
But, my personal mythos rating is now too high for me to inarguabley
accept such a reasonable answer. I cannot risk ruling out a priori the
approach of an "other" stumbling into my town . To make this assumption
would fly in the face of personal experience with the small-spaces between
realities -- which we all sometimes glimpse out of the corner of the eye
while glancing around -- and perhaps even see, but fail to admit to
ourselves seeing, the beings standing there looking back.
This sudden appearance of Foxes could be mundane, and as you described.
However if something of apocryphal origin has stumbled its way into my
small patch of county lanes and small horse farms, I need to aware and
prepared.
Perhaps my great-grandfathers books in the basement can point me to the
way.
