Gnome Gninja would be sneaky little bastards. I vote for an assassin's guild of Gnome Gninja, sent by their master to find certain heroes of prophecy to bring back to the Gnome-lands to fight some huge evil, or perhaps to fetch something from the highest shelf in the land.

As for NPCs, maybe Paizo could accept NPC submissions, like the old Critical Threat column? These could become important NPC _at the choice of the DM_?
