I started watching this (Criminal Minds) a few months back, and now I'm hooked. I even bought the first season on DVD to find out what I missed last year...
For the most part, I find it well written. The psychopaths are really disturbing and even bone-chilling. The BAU Team (the team of FBI profilers) is really great (superb casting) and interesting.
Each episode is self-contained, but as with many other series, there's a background storyline that develops as time goes by.
I would highly recommend this TV show to anyone.

(Plus, they've given me ideas for some city-based adventures using the Urban-Ranger...)

Did anyone catch the last episode? To me it seemed kind of a stretch to have Wesley Crusher as a serial killer. He always seemed too whiney for that.
I didn't see if but have to say:
1) I'll defend Will Wheaton as cool, and a gamer. Now I'll have to look out for this episode on reruns because...
2) Allen Tudyk was downright creepy as a child molester on CSR, just because you look at him and yell "Wash!"

Yeah, but he went and grew himself a Will Riker beard.

I liked the show when it first started but then it got silly for me. Part of my problem is that they catch a serial killer almost every single episode (investigations can take months to years and many go unsolved) and almost every single episode the killer speeds up. The writers seem to like to find ways to heighten the tension . . . as if a serial killer isn't worrying enough.
The characters themselves are pretty interesting. I do like most of the actors in the show. I just don't like the repetitiveness of the show.
