Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Will Pathfinder be easy to convert to an existing campaign setting (such as Eberron) like previous adventure paths?

Since Paizo will no longer be able to reference other campaign worlds, you will most likely be on your own to convert them to specific settings.

I'm mostly referring to stuff such as locations, critters, and basic plots. Age of Worms didnt reference anything Eberron, but it was fairly simply enough to swap some names and change locations to make it work.

Like I said Paizo will no longer be able to mention specific groups, lands, names, ect of the Eberron world (or any other world). When they publish an adventure they can not say, "Adventure "X" will fit nicely in the land of "Q" in the Eberron setting. Nor can they say...."when using this adventure for other campaigns subsitute "bill" for "Driz'zt Do'urden" who is found in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting...

Its the same for Necromancer games and Green Ronin ect...

I guess the best way to phrase the question is, will the adventure paths be generic enough to adapt to existing campaign worlds, or will they essentially require you to use the new campaign setting they seem to be developing?

I imagine the new path will have a messageboard devoted to it. On that messageboard, I also imagine that there will be various threads making conversion suggestions for Eberron, Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk - amongst others.

Would WotC try to legally crimp such informal conversion attempts?

To my way of thinking, I think I'll look forward to this new setting of Paizo's and possibly look at changing to it.

Best Regards

All I gotta say is that if the adventures are easily modified/ported into other settings, I'm in.

It should be as easy to place into existing campaigns as our previous Adventure Paths have been.

You mean like this here Rise of the Runelords messageboard? Yep. It'll have one just like that. :-)

Has Lorraine Williams been elected onto the board of WoTC?

Thats good to know. I'm definitely gonna snag the first issue of Pathfinder.
I got high hopes for it and as long as its easy to adapt then I intend to keep it.

With a little tweaking you could get your D&D characters to go through a Call of Cthulhu or even a Star Wars adventure... I'm pretty certain that as long as they stay in the "medieval fantasy" setting, you can convert it to any world you like...

exactly...it is usually not too hard to incorporate non-WoTC d20 material in a WoTC game...except often the OGL material is over-powered compared to WoTC standards..
