I love the background that was added to Vanthus in 'Serpents of Scuttlecove'. It took him so many levels beyond "oh, he just went bad one day".
Will there be an opportunity for the PCs to discover his background? It'd be a shame for them to miss out on the nearly tragic yet oh-so-villainous origin of the main villain.
It was more like reading a good novel than the background of a new adventure. Great! Seems Mr. Pett scored some points, Mr. Logue.

There absolutely will. Near the end of the path, the PCs get to meet the glabrezu who granted those wishes, and maybe a tormented larvae with a strangely familiar head...
