Still need more signatures for the charter, we're all roughly 10th level. If you do not have the expansion pack, let me know so I can run to ya and get the charter signed where you're at. :)

Celestial Healer wrote:I've got a free trial all installed now. I'm not sure whether I want to go for a healer or a caster. Any thoughts? If you're new to the game, I would suggest a warrior. If you're really keen on a healer/caster, maybe a druid, shaman or priest.
Druids and shamans are REALLY complicated. If you're keen on playing a healer and you're a beginner, priest or paladin. Otherwise, warrior is the way to go at least until you get more familiar with the interface. Be warned: As a priest, you will die very often when trying to quest by yourself. They have crappy hit points and their damage output is not exactly impressive either. This will be mitigated somewhat around level 8 when you get the shielding spell.
Mages are kind of mediocre for beginners. They aren't senselessly complicated, but they aren't easy either. Again, your hit points will suck but at least you can dish out OBSCENE amounts of damage (especially later on). Warlocks are probably one of the most complicated classes in the game. Definitely not for beginners.

I haven't played WoW for a while -nearly two years? The computer I used to play it on is now being used by my SO as an office machine and the game was uninstalled from it a few months ago. I can't remember the account name or passwords we used so I'm guessing we will have to start all over again (not a big deal, as we were only level 20-30 or so).
I still have the original game but not the expansion pack with the Blood Elves etc. What do I need to do/buy to get going again?

You should be able to recover your account information from Blizzard as long as you remember your email address here.

Just install and patch up. The expansion is not required, unless you want to play blood elves or draenai. (I'm not gonna make anybody buy a $40 expansion just be in the guild. That's dumb.) There's an Orb of Translocation in Silvermoon that I can use to get to Undercity quickly, and you can use the Zeppelin to get to Durotar. So, no problems meeting up anywhere really.

Sounds good, have to wait until payday of course -I think I will get the expansion, the Blood Elves seem cool. :) The Draenai look great. Can you have humans or dwarf bad guys yet?

Thanis Kartaleon |

Well, I wouldn't really call the Alliance the good guys. They're only 'good' 'cause they're the ones with human representation. But hey, Night Elves are responsible for the sundering of the continents, the Naga, and Demonic invasion. And Prince Arthas of the Humans slaughtered his father on the throne of Lordaeron and spearheaded the Scourge.
By comparison, the Orcs are led by Thrall, who recently removed his race's shackles to their previous demonic overlords. The New Horde, as Thrall refers to it, is not about war for war's sake, but eventual peace - once the Alliance stops trying to kill us all.
The Forsaken, which is to say the playable Undead characters, also are removed from their previous shackles. They have broken free of the Scourge and now fight against it. Granted, their twisted logic leads them to conclude that everyone should be free-willed undead, but at least they don't want to corrupt the very land...

If I could convince people to play DDO with me... ;)
I'm a DDO player! I'm playing on the international server, though...

I just need to toss my two cents into the mix.. Last night when we were together on WoW I had the most fun EVER. Granted I have only been playing for two to three months.
I can't wait till we run again... :)
I will likely be on again tonight. I really want to get to level 20...
...and then 30......and 40...
Yeah. I'll be on.

We are on Keeper. I'm playing with some friends and relatives back home, but wouldn't mind a little action on the side - especially considering the 9-hour time difference we face.
WARNING: I suck. But in a good way, of course...

If I recall from what other EU players I know, you won't be able to play on the US servers without a US account.

OK. I've got Vyrcinthex, an undead priest (crafting skill TBD).
Level 5, so far. He hasn't proved too flimsy (hasn't died yet, knock on wood [well, except the time he must have tied to become undead]), and the game has been pretty easy to get the hang of. I've been on EQII for several years, and the user interface is very similar, and combat is virtually identical.
There's a big difference in performance, though. WoW runs much more smoothly on my computer. I'm loving that part of it. My system always struggled with the (admittedly beautiful) graphics of EQII.
See you there!
P.S. Lilith, I don't have the expansion on the trial account, but when I subscribe, I'll probably spring for it.

True. I played EQ2 for a while - it was fun, but I really hated crafting stuff. Instead, I made my living selling collectibles... However, I've never tried WoW. Maybe I'll give it a shot in a few weeks (once my courseload eases off a bit)? If so, I'll certainly be looking for you guys!

I just wanted to hop on and wish you all luck from an old WoW goober (since release).
All the editorial staff's characters are Alliance side on Kilrogg, so I don't imigiane we'll be seeing you much, but the game is a ton of fun and it's great to see a Paizo community guild.
If any of you decide you want to try Alliance (on Kilrogg) let me know and I can hook you up :)

Lies!
An overwhelmingly high number of editors' characters are on the alliance side on Kilrogg, but there is one lone holdout. ;P

Mulban |

I'm in Mosul right now. I thought I might be able to get online here, and maybe there is, but I will be out of the loop for two weeks.
Also, I have an 8 hour time difference. Prolly not going to be able to do much while I'm here. Good news is that my end-game guild all but switched over to Middle Earth online, so I'll be looking for a new WoW game when I get back.

Valegrim |

well, I certainly can make a character and play with you guys; will play anything except warrior as I hate em and rather not play mage as I have an uber power one already; I noticed you dont really have a priest other than perhaps lilith's alt so could make on as I love them or shaman as nobody has one and they are pretty cool. Let me know if you want me or when you play and I can certainly get on and help out, sign the guild charter and stuff.

Grumpy Trey |

Hi Lilith,
I can definitely sign on (plus my girlfriend might be interested too). I tend to do Pallys, but I see you have one, but it seems like most of the other classes are covered, too. Any thoughts from you guys on gaps that need to be filled?
We have a bunch of alts, so I'm comfortable taking something else. Rogues and any type of gnome (heh) are the only things I am completely inept at. Everything else, I'm just somewhat inept.
Ok, looking forward to seeing everyone online!

Grumpy Trey |

Hmm, seeing no Tauren and only one Warrior. Sound like a plan? I could also go Shammy, but it looks like we have a few healers already, between the Orc Shammy, the Priest, and the Pally.
I went ahead and and made a Tauren Warrior named Thuronde. Will probably go the mining/smith route unless there is something else needed.

A priest would be awesome, Val. I'm usually on between 9pm and 1am my local time (Arizona time, which is Mountain Time Zone without Daylight Savings Time). I'm typically on there just about every night except Friday and Sunday nights, which are reserved for REAL gaming. ;)
