Liberty's Edge

I've been listening to a podcast called You Look Nice Today, pretty much on a continuous loop for the last month or so. To say it is bizarrely hilarious would be an understatement in my estimation. I found out about it because one of the ... performers?... is Merlin Mann, of MacBreak Weekly and general GTD fame. I've also been watching (er, at least listening while I browse to) Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Yeah, gotta love the lyrics (but man that beat is f@%~in' catchy). Been perusing their other stuff on Pandora.com, I 'bout bust a gut with their adaptions of 'Big Poppa' and 'Tom Sawyer'. Priceless.

Also found a few more bands to check out. Thank Jah for the Internet!

I have to admit I don’t know their stuff that well, although I love "Under the Milky Way". I should check them out again. They released a covers album a few years ago, I remember some of those were alright, although I’m drawing a blank at the moment as to what else they’ve released.

They've got some really great albums, and their sound has evolved in interesting ways over the years. I would say that some of their best albums are "Priest = Aura" and "Hologram of Baal." "Gold Afternoon Fix" and "Starfish" (the one with Under the Milky Way) are also good. I just ordered another 3-4 of their discs through Amazon, including "Box of Birds" (I think that's the cover album you're talking about), as well as an acoustic album.

Slain By Elf (the best D&D inspired song ever) by Urusei Yatsura

hey teenagers revolt in hairslides
we're burning out from the inside
we're never sure what is real
in this world (if anything)
hey satan the mall's in chaos
so help us to kill our parents
slain... by elf

slain by elf

we're staying home in our rooms
on our dice
one hundred sides
our physical shells are rotting
this paranoid fear is classic
slain... by elf

slain by elf

we go to school with creeps and ghouls
it's over now
these trailer trash have got no cash
poor baby now
we got so bored of our boards
we'll slay you
wow, wow

House of Flying Daggers sountrack by Shigeru Umbayashi. Also queued up is the Requiem For A Dream soundtrack by Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet.

Hey it's Sunday and I am in a mellow mood. If it wasn't Sunday it could easily be a playlist like the one that houstonderek mentioned, some cracking hardcore punk going on there
