"St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)"
For anyone who was alive in the '80s, I'm trying to figure out how you can listen to this song YET AGAIN without driving red-hot iron spikes into your ears just to make it stop. Phil Collins' "Against All Odds" is similar in that respect.
Everyone loved Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" when he recorded it, but 5 years later, after Risky Business, people would gladly commit suicide rather than have to hear it any more.

Songs from the Peninsula in Krontjong Beat
Also peculiar, and presented by a Brigadier General, too.

I used to be really heavy into Mastodon, to the point that I wore out my CD copies of Blood Mountain and Crack The Skye. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed by The Hunter, and I put off listening to their follow-up album for over a year, unsure if I could take that kind of disappointment again.
Now I'm regretting my decision to put it off. Once More 'Round The Sun is f+~$ing phenomenal.

Hours upon hours of chillstep. It quickly became my favorite genre shortly after discovering it - I love the way the beat just flows with the music. Really helps me lose focus and let my mind drift, which is great for sparking my creativity.

Went into a record store/tv repair shop yesterday. Was accosted by the elderly owner who kept trying to direct me to the records in the front. I ignored him and went through the records in the shelves and they were all terrible. Finally listened to him and went through the new arrivals and discovered that that's where all the good stuff was. Then put my name on a list of customers to be called when new stuff comes in. Made me feel like I really accomplished something. Also picked up:
The Wonderful World of Wreckless Eric

Kyuss's Welcome To Sky Valley.
And then what is apparently a deluxe edition of the Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness of which I'd not heard tell. Because they're remastering and releasing anniversary editions of the soundtrack to my teenage years.
I'm getting old.
Anywho. Listening to that new Druid album now. Pretty all right through a couple tracks. Seemed like it started hitting its groove toward the end of that long opening track.

Huge snaps for the Fats Waller love, but -1 for the McCartneys (shudder).
