Monkey Grip and large weapons

3.5/d20/OGL

Just a quick question:

If a dwarf has the Monkey Grip feat and wields a Large Greataxe, does he have a 10' reach?

Without the books in front of me I would say no. A creatures size really determines reach. Only a reach weapon can extend your reach and typically it leaves the square directly in front of you un-threatened.

No.

The FAQs are pretty clear on this one. As Chris points out, native size determines reach - not the weapon wielded unless it is a reach weapon. It doesnt matter if the Dwarf was human or wielding the Large Axe two handed.

Enlarge Person, Stretch Weapon, and if Im not mistaken (and I could be) Divine Power afford a PC reach without using reach weapons.

Just out of curiosity where would one find that feat? I've been looking for a feat or weapon ability that makes it so that a medium creature can use a large weapon for some time now.

Monkey Grip is on page 103 of Complete warrior.

Thanks, guys. Just wanted to be clear. I guess I should be called "Have no reach" :)
