Seriously now, why haven't we seen a single article in the seven years of 3E Dragon Magazine on yugoloths? (the one on battleloths doesn't even count)
I know it's not because there is no interest or a lack of interest because there is plenty of interest. I think the poll on ENWorld can speak for itself.
So what is the real reason? I know it's not because no one is submitting material because I know quite a few that have been submitting yugoloth articles.
I hope it's because they're being held off for a really good reason: such as the possible existence of a Fiendish Codex 3. If that is not the case than what's up with it? I think to make up for the loss a whole magazine (at least 75%) should be dedicated to them. I mean, if you guys can shove a ton of China Mieville in #352 then it shouldn't do any harm to have a yugoloth-themed magazine especially since they're created by and are a part of D&D.

I heartily agree with this one, here. For my money, China Meiville's world was a VERY selective and narrowly-focused topic to devote an entire issue of Dragon to, far more so than the iconic neutral-evil outsiders of the game. I think that an issue devoted to the yugoloths would not only fill a hole in Dragon's coverage of outsiders, but WOtC's general lack of support for these maligned baddies.
If, in fact, the articles are being held due to a much-anticipated FCIII, then I understand (and understand that the Paizo staff will be completely unable to confirm or deny such existence), but otherwise, there really seems to be no reason to publish if Razz is right about the number of submissions pertaining to yugoloths; certainly not all of them are un-printable.
Bring on the yuggies!

I'm one of the handful of folks whose 'loth queries were still sitting on Jason's desk last I heard (as of GenCon). I'd love to write a 'loth article, or even co-author with someone else if queries get fused together, but for the moment, chalk me down as patiently waiting.
That said, I managed to put a 'loth (risen to NG) in an article in 351, and there might be a reference of sorts or a namedrop involving 'loths in an ecology in 353 depending on how much Wes and others edited. I get in what NE love I can wiggle in I suppose when it makes sense to include.
So 'till a 'loth article or issue appears, may Daru Ib Shamiq the Lie Weaver bless you ;)

You know, that's a good point. I got to wondering myself "Why *did* the yugoloths leave Hades?" And looked around for a soucebook that could tell me. Near as I can tell, the only one is Planescape: Planes of conflict. You'd think something as simple as that would have been picked up on. Yugoloths get no love.

That's the thing though, they never really left the Gray Waste, so much as (like an infection) they spread into Gehenna, colonized the plane, and are now just as intimately linked to the Fourfold Furnace as they are the Waste. They're trying to do the same thing in Carceri as well, but they're not finding it easy (what with the Demodands and the Demodands' creator/god...).
Unfortunately 3e sources have awkwardly stated the nature of the 'loth expansions, falsely implying that they abandoned the Waste and moved to Gehenna when that's hardly the case. It's just that, true to the plane's nature, yugoloth control of Gehenna is much more overt than it is within the Gray Waste, but they're still the masters of both planes, and they natively spawn from both. And some 3e sources (I'm looking at you MMIV) take the wording from the 3e MotP as gospel and then further perpetuate the idea of the 'loths being exemplars of Gehenna and nothing else.
Hopefully a future book or Dragon article can explain the situation in more depth. :)

Simple... EVil will win because Good is dumb...
Oh wait... wrong thread.
I think the reason is that over the years the expectations have risen to the point to where if anyone publishes anything there is no way for all the fanboys to say that it does not suck. The editors are wise not to publish any articles because they want to spare the author the brunt of the "YOU RUINED YUGOLOTHS!!!!!" hate.
To sum up: People are way to interested in them to ever be able to write an article or book that does them justice. Best to leave your dreams intact than to feel the great hate.

What Todd said.
The Yugoloths never left Hades in my book. In my little corner of the multiverse, the Yugoloths influence the three neutral evil planes. Gehenna reflects their ruthless, scheming nature. Carceri shows their backstabbing and lies. Hades represents their hollow, pure natures.
Each plane has a leader who rules as far as his influence goes. The General of Gehenna rules Gehenna from the Crawling City, mapping out the Blood War and other dark schemes while being seen and known by few. The Oinoloth rules Hades, spreading disease and despair while fighting off others for his throne. The Overlord of Carceri rules the prisoners, and is a prisoner himself. A king of his own cell. He is both authority and somewhat of a joke to his minions. (This last part i fluffed myself, since there is even less info. on the Overlord than the other two leaders).
The lack of Yugoloth material is perplexing, a bit intriqung and often aggravating. Let's hope we get some payback....-good- payback...not MM IV style payback.
