Why is Shilsen in Cauldron?

Hi everyone.

I've been working on some Cagewright foreshadowing changes in the adventures, and one of them was having Shilsen move to Cauldron. I know this because I have a big sticky note in my book. I also know that I did this because someone here had a great idea that somehow required this. What I don't have is any clear recollection as to what is was. Does anyone remember this? Perhaps the proud originator of the idea will point me in the right direction? Thanks, all!

Who's "Shilsen"?

Do you mean "Shensen," the female half-drow druid?
Or maybe Shebelth, the Cagewright cleric?

I don't know of whom you speak.

Hi Qualidar,

I presume you mean Shebeleth of the Cagewrights? Delvesdeep had some great ideas re foreshadowing the cagewrights, including having Shebeleth active in Cauldron. I think the thread was called "The New Cagewrights" or something similar.

Hope that helps

Ack, that's what I get from typing from memory!

In a related note: am I the only one that finds the names of the NPC's in the adventure path to be a bit too....complex?

In fact I meant Shensen Tesseril, formerly of the Lucky Monkey shrine.

Thanks!

Unless things have progressed differently in your campaign, Shensen has taken up residence in the small copse of trees near the Lakeside Pavilion, at Meerthan's request. There, she has been keeping an eye on many aspects of Cauldron normally overlooked by others, and has recently become alarmed at the strange smells (stranger than usual, that is) that have been wafting in from the lake. Additionally, plants that live close to the lake shore are dying, and more and more dead fish are washing up on the shore. The locals seem to think nothing of it, but Shensen worries that these signs might point to some instability in the caverns deep below Cauldron. In fact, these developments are a subtle indications of the actions of Cagewrights deep below who have begun to stir the ancient heart of the volcano. As a result, plumes of noxious gasses have risen as far as the surface, creating the stranger than usual odors around the lake.

In my campain, I had Shensen take over the Lucky Monkey because the owners willed it to the church of Fahrlangn, and they assigned Shenses the task to restore the inn and keep it active while they search for a more permanent manager.

Thanks Frank, that was what I was thinking of: the lines between teh Interweb and Real Life begin to blur......

I assume she is...

A) Waiting for the inn to be restored.

B) Staying because her fellow Striders sense problems and are massing a small but elite force(including herself) in Cauldron.

C) She MIGHT have fallen for a certain PC.

D) She might be the frontrunner of an evil plot in which the Drow infiltrate the city and spread dissent and corruption through all levels of the city.

That's my party's assumption, anyway... a suspicious lot, they are...

Isn't she supposed to be hanging around the grove by the Lake? I've had her adopt it for druidic stuff. The players use her as a kind of link to what's going on in the area.
