How cool was the Savage Tidings article in issue 350? This ranks as the best AP support article I have seen to date. Chock full of useful material, it sets the standard for all future article of this type, imho. The gazetteer was immediately useful, the replacement characters a brilliant idea and the feats and affiliation made a great bit of crunchy bonus material. Big tip of the hat to the authors!

I live in Germany and it might take issue 350 some more time to be available at my FLGS. Am I correct: there is an additional affiliation, some replacement characters, feats and a small gazetteer in there??? AWESOME!!!
What characters are these? Which level are they? What feats? What affiliation? Please anyone a short preview! :)

The small gazeetter part gives some very general information on the southern ocean. There are three ideas offered how to replace dead PCs, example NPCs for each idea (a ranger, a rogue and a priest, of level 2,3 and 3, respectively), and feats these characters might have, which support the ideas above. I´m not sure how detailed I can get here without running into any copyright troubles, so I stay deliberately sketchy. The affiliation has to do with seafaring - today, it would something like a seaman´s union, I think.
btw: I got my copy of issue 350 in germany several days ago via subscription. (hint, hint ;-)) And it´s cheaper, too!

Thanks!
I know I should do it and get your hint! But to buy the Dragon and Dungeon is almost the only reason to visit my FLGS. You know it is not that friendly as the abbreviation might suggest and don't feel that at home there or enjoy the conversations with the personnel that much! But it's my FLGS!
Since I run the APs I am a Paizo-fanboy!
I just need my two magazines and from time to time a book from those Wizards of the Coast (and thanks to Mr. Mona THE Greyhawk campaign setting hopefully releasing as soon as possible).
I have played and DMed in the Realms a long (at least for me) time, loved (and still do) the Eberron setting and actually used it for a time with home made adventures. But to set the APs in Eberron seems a little bit forced to me. The conversion notes are good, but these lovely adventures simply lack the Eberron-style, at least to me. Althoug the STAP comes VERY close to.
But back on topic: Ok! I should do it and finally subscribe!
I have bought all issues of both magazines since the new format anyway. :)
If I would subscribe after the christmas holidays and new years eve, say on the first day of January I would get which magazine numbers?
And BTW the Savage Tidings are much more better than Wormfood was! Great work.

Aureas, just to add to what Stebehill said, the gazeteer style section of the article deals with things that sailors of the Denzac Gulf and Pearl Sea (collectively known as the Vohoun Ocean) might know or learn. The Olman Empire, Suel influence and activity in the area, Pirate Isles, and Mist Kingdom are the main areas covered. The replacement PCs section provides 3 sample concepts for tying new characters into the ongoing STAP campaign and has 4 regional feats that correspond to the concepts (one of them has 2 alternate feats) that the DM may allow his players to take.
There are 3 sample replacement NPCs or cohorts using the concepts provided should you wish to incorporate them to replace fallen crewmembers, hirelings or cohorts for characters that have the Leadership feat. They are not actual PCs and are very bare bones descriptions, but they do give you an idea of how to use the concepts for building your own replacement character if yours should kick the bucket.
The affiliation is pretty much what Stebehill described, though not so organized as an actual union. Think of it more as an adventuring sailors' guild.
