Arms and Equipment Guide updated?

I was wondering, is the Arms and Equipment Guide written in 3.5 or 3.0 and if 3.0 is there an errata or update for it?

I believe it was 3.0 (albeit right before the 3.5 conversion), and no, it hasn't been updated since. Although I can't think of anything that would change really.

It's pretty solidly 3.0, actually, and there has been no update for it. Was there something in particular you were looking at?

Some of the items presented in The Arms and Equipment Guide have made their way into the Complete Series and some of the weapon abilities were added to DMG v3.5. For the most part, all of the items should work as is.

Nothing in particular, just lining up the allowed books in my homebrew world and wondered if there is anything out-of-sorts with this one that I need to look into. I loved all the special materials for armor and weapons and wanted to include them in my world.

If anyone remembers any problems with the book being used in 3.5, please let me know.
thanks

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it to much. The only thing you'll want to keep an eye on are magic items that have spell-like features, especially since a lot of spells got revamped in 3.5 (e.g. - haste). Just make sure that if a weapons has such an ability it doesn't end up being overpowered or underpowered in 3.5. If it does, you might need to adjust the price accordingly.

Any magic items that provide a bonus on skill checks will be severely underpriced. For example, an item that granted a +10 bonus in 3.0 would cost 10 * 10 * 20 = 2,000 gp (IIRC), but 10 * 10 * 100 = 10,000 gp in 3.5.

Thanks in advance for any help on this one.

How about the "Force" magic weapon ability in AEG? Think that would allow an ethereal creature to strike a material creature, in v3.5? Even with a ranged attack?

Never mind. "Force" only works against incorporeal, not ethereal. Plus the v3.5 definition of ethereal specifically says that even force effects do not affect material creatures when they originate on the ethereal plane.

I would love to see Paizo publish a volume akin to the AD&D 2nd Edition 'Arms and Equipment Guide' (I never had the chance to check out WotC's 3.0 version) - the 'Adventurer's Armory' from their Player's Companion series merely whetted my appetite.

That original TSR publication included so much lore! It did such a great job illustrating how a GM might fit a particular piece of gear into their own campaign world. I'd just like to see some new talent build upon that volume's foundation.

You're in luck, because I believe there are plans for a meaty hardcover "Advanced Equipment Guide" for the Pathfinder RPG.

Since you are speaking about the Arms and Equipements Guide, I would like to make a question about a similar book, the Arms & Armor guide of Bastion Press; have any of you read it?
I keep searching information about a monster called "carvet", whose beak is used to craft superior daggers, the "carvet daggers", mentioned in the Arms & Armor guide, but I can´t find anything. Do you know where could I find that monster?

While it does not have a product page yet that I can find, Paizo has officially announced Ultimate Equipment for a late 2012 release. It is going to be a part of the main line of books and will be hardcover and setting-neutral.

It is from Bastion Press's "Minions: Fearsome Foes"
