I just read a summary of Die, Vecna Die, and it seems quite interesting..
I have ordered it so I should get it next week, but I was thinking of inserting it right AFTER AOW in my campaign. So after it all boils over and my chars are into epic levels they catch on to this plot of Vecna to take over the multiverse.
Anyone ever run this adventure? Any comments?

It's a great adventure. I'm sure your aware that it's made for Second edition? It's designed for high level characters but anything over 18 level maybe to high.

i don't know how much you know about this adventure, but the adventure is what restores the Maimed One back to Greyhawk after having been lost to the mists of Ravenloft at the end of Vecna Lives (another good adventure and the only one that i'm aware of that actually allows you to play as members of the Circle of Eight in a fight against the uber-lich in the beginning as part of the game's prologue). i'm curious as to how you're going to work that continuity wise?

Well my players are not super knowledgeable about greyhawk, but I guess the way I would do it is to pretend that I am running AOW before Vecna returns. (His hand and eye would still be on Oerth, sort of as lost avatars, but he would be in Ravenloft...) This was just an idea for a 22nd level adventure I had, but I am looking for others (as long as they are greyhawk based).
Would the other Vecna adventure be more appropriate? I like the idea of some them working with the circle of 8. I am willing to modify the adventures quite a bit...

The Chronology for the Vecna line is thus:
1. Vecna Lives (Greyhawk)
2. Vecna Reborn (Ravenloft)
3. Die Vecna Die (Ravenloft, Planescape)
If you want to capture the true spirt of Vecna I would start with Vecna Lives then some time in future run Die Vecna Die. Vecna Reborn is for mid level characters and while a good adventure it doesn't have the universal scope the other two do.

I'm assuming that you've played or atleast gone over 2nd edition once or twice before, and therefor know that alot is in 3.5 that doesn't exist in 2nd. Another thing, you also know you have to fix all the ACs. As long as you know what your doing I don't suppose you should have to much of a problem. And I've played it, it's a good one.

ok...well, Vecna Lives should work out fine because Mordenkainen is the one that calls the heroes to the Circle's banner(he was the only one of the Eight to not go investigate the mystery that drew the others in, as he was elsewhere attending to other matters). I'd skip Vecna Reborn as that would take you to Ravenloft (as would Die, Vecna, Die) but most importantly, in the scheme of things, it is the least necessary of the three to run (although the information within it is good enough to use for the third in the series). Die, Vecna, Die should be the finale as it will take your characters from Greyhawk (pursuing leads on Vecnan cultists) to Ravenloft where (they can try to hinder/witness the release of the Maimed One), then travel to Sigil(final showdown) before finally heading back to Greyhawk.
of important note is that with both Vecna Lives and Die Vecna Die, Iuz has a hand in each adventure.
