I didn't see anyone saying they searched the room, so I figured you guys decided to stick with the door. You are still welcome to explore with the open door =)

"That door hasnt been opened in years...no way Longtail went this way."

Agromite cannot seem to stop turning head head back and forth, trying to watch the room and the door at the same time.

When you explore the rest of the room, your sunrod lights up the walls, revealing a second door, just like the one at the north end of the room. The room appears to be empty and featureless. The only markings on the walls are the grooves left from chisels and hammers when the place was built.

Rubbing his palms together, the gnome moves over to the door. "Will do. Anyone see any signs of Longtail coming through here? Maybe the rocks can tell us?" Ditch the sarcasm, wisea$$, youve seen enough to know anything's possible.

Nimh will attempt to determine if the source of magic is a thing, particular area or just an enchantment on the walls/floor/door itself.

"Sorry, Shortstack, the rocks keep their own counsel on a lot of things. We're on our own for now." She checks around the room, trying to find evidence of whatever path Wormtail may have taken.

Longtail's tracks are easy to follow from the cave, and lead you to the eastern door.

Agromite:
You study the door, looking for traps, and find a well constructed spear launcher. Much to your surprise, it appears to have been triggered already, but not reset.

Nimh:
You sense that the magic is coming strictly from the doorway. No item or object is causing the aura, but rather, the void itself.

Amaronna:
You track the markings to the eastern most door, but spot a few bloodstains on the ground just in front of it. Whatever was bleeding seems to have dragged itself to the Northeastern corner of the room, where you find a long dead goblin. It's body pilfered and left for dead.

After a brief inspection, Agromite steps away from the door. "Looks like this door was trapped, but one of Longtail's crew was nice enough to set it off for us. Hope he liked the spear. Let's get that other door closed and keep moving."

Im assuming if the trap isnt reset the door isnt locked either? I will wait til the other door is closed and the party is in 'door opening positions', then open the east door.

Ingred will walk back over to the door of blackness and lift the handle, closing the door.. "Ok thats done now lets get on with finding Longtail.."


Agromite - That would be a correct assumption.

Finding the lever to close the northern door was a bit tricky, almost hidden within the doorframe. But when you open the eastern most door, you find the exact same magic enveloping the entrance. It appears a leap of faith may be required.

Amaronna raises an eyebrow as two of their number immediately plunge themselves beyond the black curtain, but the half-drow is a bit more cautious. She sticks the butt end of her spear through, and withdraws it, just to make certain there's no weird surprises on the other end.

Nothing! It was actually a sphere of annihilation that was fashioned into a thin plane. You actually irrevocably destroyed yourself. What are you playing next? ;-P

Your sunrod gleams feebly in this complete gloom, lighting up a small region of what appears to be a large room. Two iron doors, one straight ahead of you and the other to its side, are the only things that break up the unending mass of worked stone. The chill and damp air clings to your body, and you are not the only ones feeling it judging by the cough coming from the shadows to your left.

Amaronna - sticking your spear through the darkness, you find you are unable to pull it back through. The barrier only allows things in, but now out.

As two of his companions walk through the doorwat and a third wrestles with the darkness over her spear, Agromite cups his hands to his mouth and shouts into the doorway.

"Ingred? Sefra?? Are you dead?" sorry, my kids have been watchng The Smurfs movie over and over.....

Hearing no response to his cry, Agromite glances around at their quickly depleting numbers. "Three already through, the archer's right we're committed......"

With a deep breath and sword in hand, the gnome crosses the threshold through the darkness.

As Agromite plunges into the darkness Aurora looks over her shoulder at the dusky elven woman.

"Count to three then follow right behind me,"she says before moving into the inky blackness, taking a few steps to her left the moment she is through the curtain of shadows.


"You're all right," Amaronna conceded. "Besides, there's no way out behind us. It's forward or nothing." She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath and steps through the curtain of blackness.

Once through, she opens her eyes, suppressing a sigh of relief when she sees everyone else. "I have a sneaking suspicion..." she begins, and tests the curtain behind her with the butt of her spear again, curious to see if it's even possible to push through.

"So, two doors, and the only way out is through. Your quarry had to come through this way, so let's see if we can find some traces of his passing. If we find him, maybe we can ask him how he got out of here in the first place." She glances around, checking to see if there's any traces of anyone moving through here recently.

Erikan sighs deeply as the rest of the party moves through the curtain of solid darkness. "Asmodeus burn me," he mutters under his breath, before plunging forward, braced for whatever comes after.
