How is Paizo pronounced?

Jack :)

I was told that the word was castillian, with a silent "P" so I say "AY' shyoau"

I always thought of Paizo as having a similar pronunciation to the Italian word 'paisano'.

Pie-zoe.

One N away from sounding like a fun place to eat.

Hmmm...

I always pronounced it Pay-Zoe. But Pie-Zoe does sound better.

Me too. It's from the Greek verb for 'play' I believe.

Well Pay-Zoe makes sense, as I pay them quite a bit.

I'm in the pie-zoe camp...

I'm just gonna keep saying Pie-Zoe. When someone says Pay-Zoe I'll just remind them that it's all Greek to me.

Actually, they shouldn't tell us. That would give it a kind of mystique. Having 'camps' will create a more vibrant scene, what with the ensuing debates, scandals, and eventually the incriminating nude photos of the staff in their 'team hot tub'.

Brand name vagueness will eventually prove to be an ambrosia to godlike celebrity.

Pay-zoe, all the way.

Ooh! What if it's a foreign name with three syllables? Perhaps pah-ee-zoe? ;-)

I agree... it should be a mystery! Eventually, great cults will form around Orthodox Paizo, Reformed Paizo, and New Age Paizo, causing world war seven (all fought entirely with miniatures, of course!).

I belive it is Pie-zo. Thus, Kyle created the li'l dude who's body looks like the Greek letter Pi for the logo.

(and this may have been discussed before or in the editorial for the relaunch. I don't know why it's in my brain, but that's what seems correct)

Got it!

Dictionary.com says:

Liberty's Edge

I say "pie-zo".

And if I'm wrong, I don't want to be right.

I'm not sure why, but I've always pronounced it with three syllables. Pay-ah-zo. Looking at it now, I'm not sure how I came up with that pronunciation (since it seems to defy all laws of phonics) but that's how I've said it before and that's how I'll continue to say it!

Please stop making me shift uncomfotably in my chair.

PS: that was very funny!

In Greek, it's "paheed'-zo."

Two syllables (it's not "pa-heed-zo"), the first one sounds like "pie" as in the food. And it does start with the letter "pi" as the logo hints at.

You're soooo full of Paizo! :)
