Paizo @ Gen Con

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Kudos to Erik and the Paizo team for staffing the booth so diligently at GenCon. It seemed like every time I wandered by, Erik was there.

Ahh, and I am sitting here in Germany, having never a chance to attend such a great party as GenCon seems to be.
Such Cons are way smaller here and I stopped visiting them because nothing noteworthy happens there...
You guys are so lucky!

A little "OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH, POOR DRYDER" - anyone... ? ? ? ;)

Um... Essen springs to mind! That's certainly bigger than any UK con, and I'd expect comparable with the biggies in the US.

Is there word yet on how well Paizo & WotC will be represented at Gencon UK? Last year there was a fair bit of RPGA, but WotC had a relatively low profile (and what there was was mostly MtG & miniatures games).

Poor Dryder.....just think, Tom--I live about 1800 miles from Indianapolis. If you lived in the U.S., you still might not ever go to a GenCon.

When my son is older, I'll take him to GenCon, so he can see how big a geek his dad really is.

I am pretty sure, that your son already knows it! ;)

HE already had your books in hand, hadn't he?! ;)
And when you finally take him there, leave me a note, maybe I will come too!

Not only was Erik working at the booth most of the time, when he wasn't there he was running seminars like "The Future of Dragon & Dungeon", "Writing for Dungeon" and "Writing for Dragon". Even if you don't plan on writing for the magazines, you might want to catch these next year if you can - The "sit down" comedy of Erik Mona can be very entertaining. It also seemed like James was always in the booth when I walked by - I don't think those guys had any time to wander the exhibit hall.

That sucks, they should have "some" time to go have fun. The unwritten rule of out of town conventions is that if you go to represent your company, the fringe benefit should be that you get some time to have fun as well. I bring my golf clubs to ALL out of town conventions I go to on behalf of my employer!
