New Dungeons & Dragons RPG adventure now available!

The Tyranny of Dragons continues unabated with the latest Dungeons & Dragons from Wizards of the Coast!

The Cult of Dragons is up to no good with Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Tiamat! For 8th to 15th level characters, the second part of the Tyranny of Dragons adventure throws your characters right into the middle of things, continuing the events of "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" and taking them all over the Realms and up and down the Sword Coast—not to mention a brief trip into Thay! Numerous factions vie for favor, and their aid could well mean the difference between living free—or being crushed under the might of the Dragon Queen unleashed from Hell!

I love it when we get Paizo frontpaging D&D products. Paizo ain't afeared of nobody!

It's clear that Paizo just loves people to be gaming, regardless of system. I'm sure they'd be thrilled if everyone played Pathfinder but if people are going to have fun with other systems,as I'm sure their emplyees and executives do, why not make some money off it too?

Liberty's Edge

I believe this adventure is actually for character levels 8th-15th.

Ack, I was trying to flag the fake ID spam, and I flagged your post by mistake. Sorry about that! Trying to figure out how to un-flag it.

I can confirm this adventure is for levels 8 to 15. Though 15 still doesn't seem like quite enough to face Tiamat (mwahaha!).

Are you penning anything for the Elemental Evil storyline due in March 2015?

Shadow Lodge

Sasquatch Game Studio seems to be the 3PP that WotC has farmed a portion of Elemental Evil out to.

Hopefully is stars and schedules align, Kobold Press and Wizards will work together again :)

Here here! I second that. Running Hoard of the Dragon Queen now, and I just got Rise of Tiamat last week.

It'd be shame if Wizards didn't ask Kobold Press to write another adventure because my group is having a blast with it.

As a side note; I hope they stick with the same format for their adventures in the future regardless of writers. I really like the hardcover books with the heavystock pages.

"Is Fate Fixed?"

If it's anything like the last adventure, I suspect it's as fixed as being forced to fight a high-level Dragonborn champion and succeeding only to be inexplicably met later by his exact duplicate. :/

If you play it as written the minions are supposed to save the half-dragon before you can finish him off.

I imagine the directions to reuse his stats if he is defeated were included just to keep it simple for the DM. It's easy enough to swap him out for the 2nd encounter with a minimum amount of effort. Just use 3 berserkers, or change his race to something other than half-dragon if you don't want to reuse him.

ROT is an excellent adventure on my read through. Am about halfway running through HOTDQ, and it is quite good
