A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 5th- through 8th-level characters.
Starfinders sent to repair a malfunctioning Drift Beacon encounter two factions both vying for control of the object. Even if they can solve the situation and fix the Beacon, a surprising development awaits them when they return to Absalom Station.

This is a well rounded adventure with something to do for everyone. I enjoyed it and have to say I really enjoy the data scourge plot line. The story line and the adventures are really good all around.
Hmm I wonder what's going on with the drift beacons? Can't be that there is about to be some sort of crisis?
Honestly, I love the very star trek "our heroes are vaulted into a tense situation and have to play mediator" start to the adventure. Its unique and the situation was tense and I think a roleplaying encounter at the start of the scenario is absolutely key in getting people engaged.
From there, there is a lot of nice locale exploration and exposition which I appreciate. I always like when we get to see what, precisely, some of these things that are so important to the lore actually look and function like.
And then the twist ending gives a second or third perspective on what the Data Scourge looks like. All told, just a really fun experience.
Fun Adventure - Good Diplomacy Opportunity and Starship Combat
Had a great time playing this one. Our GM did a great job with the diplomatic scenario early in the game. (Diplomats tho our party is not, lol) Drift Beacons are a great part of the Starfinder lore so was cool to explore / defend one. Curious to see where the season goes following this.
I was lucky enough to play test this with the author as GameMaster. The encounter broke down into two separate, three hour sessions. Each session exposed us to life threatening danger and opportunities for our party to succeed in a variety of ways.
Unfortunately, our party was unable to obtain the aid of a potentially powerful NPC, which probably hampered our ability to deal with the threats in session two and moving forward in our game world.
This module exposed us to the inner workings of the Drift and the threats that come with our ever expanding reach and definitely deserves a place on your "shelf".
Think I'm missing something here... where do I find the stats for the PC spaceship? It is not a standard model (at least it is not one of the two/three "standard" models normally available.
That's a good question. The Azata (if that's what you're referring to, my SFS sub didn't "ship" today) was stated to premiere at PaizoCon, but it isn't included in any of the three introductory scenarios. I can only assume it's supposed to appear in the Starfinder Starships reference PDF, but that hasn't been updated for the new season.
Speak of the devil! Also, a quick glance at the Tier 2 Drake shows me that it's been modified, which might mean that Starfinder ships are now finally legit regarding revised BP costs.
Edit: I was going to say that a glance at the Tier 2 Drake made me think that the Starfinder Society starships had been adjusted to match revised BP costs, but moving on to the Tier 4 showed me: nope.
Just wandered through here again at random and, thinking idly in hindsight, I'm still not clear on why the Drift beacons were being disabled. In terms of motivations of the entity behind it, I mean.
