Now this is an item deck I can get behind.
Just picked this up and I'm actually pretty disappointed. Fully half the cards are low effort runes and ores (I assume fillers to pad out the 110 cards). Then there's the cards that are actually items, most are generic, uninspired and many are not even magical, low quality/detail and inconsistent style of the art that also appear to be poorly rescaled. It's actually jarring because the card border is fairly busy (too wide and too busy honestly) but fairly detailed and the item looks even worse in comparison. The deep purple background without any sort of highlights really doesn't flatter the items or make them "pop". Overall, I'm sorry to say this might be the worst item deck released to date. First edition decks were consistently pretty great quality, but 2nd edition has not been up to that quality level. Personally, I think $25 for 30 nice cards, 30 mediocre cards, and 50 outright bad cards is steep. Hoping you can kick the tires for the next release!

On the other hand, I was very happy to see each rune get a canon representation. It's great to have something that you could put into your character's art that would make it instantly recognizable as a "Pathfinder character" because your magic weapon has the canon runes engraved in it. I am also very happy to see they are dedicated to releasing all items from the core book as cards, even if some people don't like some of the items. I hope that in the long term they will do the same for items in the other books.
