I was tweaking with pathbuilder, looking for different champion templates, and I came up with a kobold mounted champion.
Not having the mount trait, the Dromeaosaur has some restrictions
You or an ally can ride your animal companion as long as it is at least one size larger than the rider. If it is carrying a rider, the animal companion can use only its land Speed, and it can’t move and Support you on the same turn. However, if your companion has the mount special ability, it’s especially suited for riding and ignores both of these restrictions.
but these are not a problem.
I was more curious about its support skill
Support Benefit Your raptor constantly darts into flanking position. Until the start of your next turn, it counts as being in its space or an empty space of your choice within 10 feet when determining whether you and your companion are flanking; you can choose a different space for each of your attacks.
This seems to be quite easy to imagine if you think about some sort of character with a pet, but what about a mounted?
Assuming we that each letter is a creature and also worth 5 feets in terms of space, we might have something like "CED", where:
D stands for "Dromeosaur flanking image"
E stands for "enemy"
C stands for "chavalier" ( the space occupied by the character mounting its companion ).
Seems that, given how its written, the character ( as well as its pet ) would be able to flank an enemy by go around it, or something similar.
Just wanted to discuss if by raw this was the correct interpretation.

Another question
https://2e.aonprd.com/Monsters.aspx?ID=137
Is it just an error that a red dragon can cast crushing despair as a lvl 4 spell ( it's a lvl 5 spell )?
I ask because a Kobold might take a single spell each level ( Dracomancer lvl 1-2, elite dracomancer lvl 3-4 ), and I am not sure how to consider this singular situation.

If your GM allows you to choose it as a mount, yes you can use that support benefit while mounted, as long as you follow the restrictions set out.
Monsters ignore standard rules. They can cast any spell at any level mentioned in their stat blocks. As a player you still have to follow the normal rules.

I think GM has nothing to do with it.
The character can simply choose a companion without the mount trait and, eventually, ride it.
The characters won't be able to use any flying speed the creature has ( like a small creature riding a medium vulture, for example ) nor make the creature move + support on the same turn.

Perfect, thank you.

Steed Ally: You gain a young animal companion as a mount. Ordinarily, your animal companion is one that has the mount special ability, such as a horse. You can select a different animal companion (GM's discretion) , but this ability doesn't grant it the mount special ability.
If it doesn't have Mount, GMs need to approve it.

Ahahah my bad, I was talking about a champion with beastmaster dedication ( I never considered the divine ally steed ).
Unfortunately, the steed ally is a joke
- Slowest progression among the companion based classes
- Shares its slot with either Weapon or Shield Ally ( so you will be renouncing to a performant shield or the critical hit specialization ). And in order to unlock a second ally you'll have to expend a lvl8+ feat
- It requires you to take a companion with the "mount" trait.
and it can't be even considered a real option.
