Modifying a headband of int

Rules Questions

hi all, my character in the adventure path im actually playing had to buy a pre crafted headband of int +2 because we had no time to ask a crafter for a new one, the problem is that the DM decided that the asociated skill on the headband should be radomly generated...and it ended being ride. of course it completely useless for me and i want to find a way to change it, so would it be possible for a crafter to realocate the skill? or im stuck wasting money selling this item and buying another that suites my needs?

Up to your DM, but basically the skill is set on item creation and can't be changed.

I assume your character is a wizard so use one of your bonus feats to get Craft wondrous item to sell it for half and craft a new one yourself?
It's not a bad feat at all.

Alternatively you could try to use and enjoy your new riding prowess; learn phantom steed?

i am an alchemist and i want a knowledge into the headband, i know that is mostly up to the DM, but i want to know also if any of you had the same problem and how you solved it

3 ways to acquire:
1) Randomly finding one in a dungeon or a shop. This will have a random skill in it.
2) Commissioning one: this should have whatever skill you request.
3) Make it yourself. This will have whatever skill you choose.

It sounds like due to circumstances you got #1.

Edit: P.S. I as GM would probably allow you to exchange it for another that is more acceptable at earliest convienience. But that is just me.
