This just automagically downloaded to my iPad and I continue to greatly dig this series. Good work from Erik Mona and Sean Izaakse this time around. I especially like the characterization of a certain evil halfling mesmerist, as evinced in this panel.

Is the map in this one back to the high quality art as normal, or is it similar to the lower quality map from the last one?
Hey Brell.
It´s definitively better, but not the best. The Record´s Hall from issue 2 was the worst of the (up to this series excellent) mini battlemaps.
The one from issue 3 is called "Barracks" and has a more detailed structure and not mostly blank rooms. It has 4 rooms with cracked stone floors.
One is empty, one has 8 bunk beds with footlockers, one has wooden benches and arms stands and the last has a large open chest with treasures.
I would rate it as ok (C or 6,5 of 10).
The battlemaps are the reason i buy the single issues.
The story is excellent!

Does this one attach to issue #2's Records Hall? The only thing I can think of that would make these lower quality maps somewhat acceptable, is if they formed one large map. I would rather just have the smaller, higher quality maps though. I as well, only buy the individual issues for the mini maps and adventure scenarios. If the maps continue in this direction, I'll probably start only buying the hardcover collections.

They don't connect sadly. But only because: the squares of "Records Hall" are too small!
I just took measurements and everything is as it should be with the "Barracks" map.It has the detailed stone-floor look same as the flip-mats and map packs, you can buy the issue without being angered about the $#1! quality of the one in issue 2.
Personally i only collect the single issues because of the maps too.
Barracks will find some use (the scenario is actually really cool) unlike the uninspired one in the Record Halls.
