A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5).
Volunteers are needed to escort the body of a deceased venture-captain across the parched Qadiran desert to Katheer. The Silken Caravan offers passage, hauling exotic treasures across the perilous sea of sands. You'll brave bandits, spies, and unwelcome mourners hell-bent on paying respects to your dead companion. Worse still, the caravan's mistress, a satin-swathed Qadiran princess, has designs of her own on you and your cargo.

This scenario had all the pieces you need to have a fun, enjoyable play experience. It just doesn't fit together well and requires a harsh hand by the GM to keep the action going. There seemed to be too much included when a little less information, combat and weather would have sufficed. Take a lot of time to prepare this one, its hands down one of the poorer offerings in PFS.
These early season 0 scenarios are what you run when you have nothing left to run. This scenario in particular is rather poor compared to later seasons & scenarios. The story could have been interesting, but it's not well developed during the adventure. Everything is just explained in an info dump at the end. As other reviewers have noted, the scenario is dangerous for first level characters but for everyone else there shouldn't be much of an issue. My table finished this scenario in 2 hours, which isn't a satisfying game length but that's a common problem with season 0 scenarios and Pathfinder Society characters.
Overall, our group enjoyed this adventure. It communicated the environment well, and really feels like a long slog through a desert.
Due to the time it was published and the differences in how faction points were awarded during that season, several of the faction misisons are not clearly communicated on the handouts. In the process of playing it in a season with the extra five factions, we used the doubled up faction situation to clarify the secondary missions when we played it.
I have both played and GMed this scenario multiple times.
I'm quite fond of this scenario. It's got a nice mission that helps the players feel more involved in the Pathfinder Society. It's got tough combats, a variety of terrain and an optional hard encounter with significant terrain advantages for the opposition.
This scenario would be 5 stars except for the overly specific useless boon that even costs 100gp. Yuck.
Just played this scenario. Simply put, it's absurdly deadly to any 1st level party. There's two encounters that hover around CR 5, which is just too much.
Spoiler:
The final encounter has the BBEG with a +9 to hit for 1d10+4 damage - that's enough to one-shot just about any 1st level character. As if he's not bad enough, add in 5 additional enemies. Without seriously lucky rolls, this is a TPK waiting to happen to a APL 1 party.
Hi
I played this in 2008 and promptly lost my character after GenCon. I played with mark l as the dm and just found the character but no chronicle sheets. Can someone tell me how to acquire a chronicle sheet from 8 years ago, or at least how much gold I would have earned at 1st level
