The feathered serpent huffs at that answer "medical treatment techniques for beings of widely different structures both external and internal are a little more complicated than being able to understand the same gibberish as someone else... Are you done over there? I'm hungry and I want to be able to go stretch these things when it gets darker out,"

The not-quite-dragon-not-quite-bird tilts his head to the side confused "um... Magic?"

the woman makes a little hand jesture.

"Well I used to be someone else, and I can almost remember some of it... Sometimes... Almost..."

"Yes. So... How can you speak our language?"

"soooooooo how do you know the medicine....?" he asks eyeing the scissors warily.

the woman holds the sizzors open, and, unless stopped, uses them to cut the cast like a knife, with quite a bit of speed and precision, and a large amount of force, but never touches the wing itself.

the woman isn't takes a finger And runs it across the cast like a claw, before pausing, and looking around for something sharp.
"One minute. Ill get it off when I find a subsitute claw."

"wait.. How could you practice medicine in the void" he asks, his voice seeming to echo the final word despite there being nowhere near enough space for it to reasonably do so "there was basically no one there?"

"There's tons of people there! Just so big there you rarely meet them. Anyway, I never said I practiced medicine. Just knew it."

she moves her hand to the healthy wing, gently stroking it.
"I make people feel better."

she keeps scratching, smiling quietly.

the woman pauses, then laughs a bit, reaching up to pat the rainbow's head.

"Are you saying I used to be a rock? No that's not possible, I was someone be for this! I had to be" he says with strong notes of first rage and then desperation.

the woman pinches her nose.

the nameless woman nods.
"I'd say that at least you got to keep your form, but... You weren't always like this, were you?"
she reaches to "politley" scratch under his chin.
"But... It can't be all bad. I mean, at least you don't have to try and walk on two legs. Drives me nuts."

"Is what scary? I am big, I have nothing to fear"

"This "heat" thing... And the "light"... I guess I mean... Being stuck in a strange place with no way home."

she pauses, a short moment.

"Oh, but... You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

A large and beautiful green winged serpent can be found in the infirmary, ovbiously frustrated with it's wing in a cast.

the strange woman walks up to the serpent, and starts to gently pet him.

the nameless girl looks with a start at the goings on. Hmm.

I forget what I was supposed to be doing...

the woman tilts her head a bit to the side, and heads off to the secretary's office, rather baffled.

the woman nods, but doesn't really get closer.
"I'll... Gladly wait until things calm a bit."

Vickory turns to girl, "Crazy things happen around here. Very rude things too, but no one will hurt you here. The doors and walls are more likely to be hurt as you can see, but not people."

she pauses a moment, but doesn't get any closer. This is just.p a bit too much for her, it seems.

the woman's eyes widen at the... Things that are going on, and backs up slowly, trying to avoid drawing attention and get farther away from the mess that is the headmaster's office.

The arrows on the wall flicker oddly before becoming stable again.

"I wonder what that was about."

"Strange."

"This place is like one big magic item. I don't know much beyond that, but the arrows will direct you to where you need to go. Right now they should take us to the headmaster. He should be able to help you... and your friend if it doesn't go off somewhere else. I figured it would follow given it's wing, but it seems rather stubborn." she shrugs with the last part.

Vickory gestures the girl to follow and starts off towards wherever the arrows take her.

Vickory is looking around for people, "There is some way to make arrows appear that point to where ever you want to go. I think you just have to say your destination while holding the wall, I think. It is still my first day."

She puts a hand on the wall and says "Headmaster."

the nameless woman stares at the arrow, then looks at victory, then the arrow.

the woman seems to be out of words for now, and just nods and keeps walking, heading for the front door now.

the woman looks in the drection of the school. She's not quite sure what to make of these two, and heading that way doesn't exactly seem like a bad idea. She starts to walk towords the school without another word.

"I mean, the fire should never have been there once you put it out. How come it was still there? Well. At least, that's often how it works. Soemtimes, things that end don't end, or it exists as both ended and not at the same time."

the woman pauses.
"I can't really argue, mostly becuase I don't know what you just said. But then explain to me why everything here happens in a set order. Now, this is an oversimplification, but when you put out the fire- why was it not already out when you got here? As you put it out, it shouldn't be, yet it is. Things aren't supposed to last beyond stopping."

funny, the longer she talks, the more she seems to know.

the woman shakes her head.
"I'm not sure you get it. I don't really think, the longer I'm here, the two places are even comparable. The longer I'm here, the more this place seems somewhat familair... But still alien in every way. You're looking for an explanation that probobly doesn't exist. There is no such thing as light or dark, where I come from. Just color. Lightless color."
she pauses a short moment.
"Not sure how to explain it. Your preception is tied to this location, and this location seems... Very solid. Well defined. I can touch everything, and it can touch me. Actions have a clear order in witch they happen. This place is nothing like my home."

"Fell in? No, I'm not sure what you mean by 'fell in,' but a baby is a new creature that has not existed very long, how long depends on the type of creature, but smarter creatures tend to be considered babies longer. You don't know a lot of things that children should know, but you know at least a little speech, so you seem to be between a baby and a child."

By now the fire nearly dead.

"People fall in. They look... Kidna like I think I look now. The don't stay like that for very long, though. Or any time. It's... (word lacks translation). Most of these things you have been describing I've never ran into. This dark thing, this heat thing, this light thing... All new. But I'm far from young. And far from old."

"Wow, you're practically a baby. School is when you learn things from other people that know more than you."

"So... Like now? I think I know what a baby is. Is that like somone who fell in recently? They seem to find my home as odd as I find yours. Doesn't last long thugh. They adapt rather quickly. Physically and mentally."

Vickory just looks at her even more puzzled, "How can you not know what light is? Did you grow up in a black hole?"

"I just fell here today. Everything is so odd. Fire also makes this horrible thing when you get close to it. But it's everywhere too... Just worse near fire..."

Vickory seems puzzled, "The only thing I can tell that comes from the sun is light, but I don't see why that would seem awkward or bothersome considering that catching light is the sole and entire purpose of having eyes."

"Uhm. I'm not quite sure what that is, but if that's the only thing that comes from it, that's probobly it."

"Yes, the stuff in your eyes is smoke, the colored parts are flames.As for heat, that is a form of energy that is found in material stuff. Normally it flows and spreads thin when it can."

Vickory digs through the undergrowth, picking up sticks, and testing them. Finding a suitable one, she continues around the fire to the upwind side where the smoke was out of the way and used the stick to move and roll the burning things and toss dirt.

"Smoke is annoying, then. Who's idea wat to put it everywhere? Thoguh, the smoke got better when you made the rain happen. Or when this black stuff covers my eyes."

she mimics victory, doing what she can to help. She's trying, but she's not too effective.

she follows after slowly.
"I didn't mean the colored stuff. I meant the stuff that always seems to be in my eyes now... Some spots it's better then others... What's heat?"

the woman look over the wand, then nods, continuing to speak void-speech
"Not sure how to help with a fire. It feels bad, like most thigns, but worse. It also makes a horrid amount of that stuff that gets into my eyes."

"Water that falls from the sky... Water is the same stuff as the river earlier was made up, sometimes it's alive and sometimes it isn't... Rain usually isn't alive if I remember right..."

the woman nods, giving up on understanding and just rolling with it.
