Question... the Megacon website says the Advance Ticket window opens at 10am today (Friday) but I am scheduled for a game at 9am. How am I supposed to get in to get to my game if I cannot get my ticket?

Lantern Lodge

So, any comments on the Wild bloodlines? I have considered making an Empyrical Sorcerer (using WIS in place of CHA) and getting to MC Cleric.

Ooo, kind of like the Guyver unit? That's cool. :)

I like the ideas in this thread. I want to make a Synthesist Summoner and play him as Ben 10. His first "alien form" will be Humongosaur and will have a 2d6+3 (I think) Slam attack. As Ben levels up, he will move on to more powerful alien forms, like Four-Arms and Ultimate Humongosaur. :)

The more I think about it, the more I think I will play this as my first Pathfinder Sociery character. Simply because if I don't like playing Pathfinder, at least I have a cool character I can kill off in those Intro games! :-D

I hope he didn't go postal on the DM. ...

Hopefully, he comes back and tells us that all is right in the world and the DM was just not understanding the way a Wizard works.

Lantern Lodge

This seems like as good a thread to post this in as any... :)

I am thinking about making a Dwarf Rogue (Thug) who is going to focus on being mean and crass. I know the Dwarf has a negative to CHA so his Intimidate won't be too good, but with Skill Focus and a Trait (and possibly a feat?) giving bonuses to it, it looks to be quite high for level 1.

I was reading through Ultimate Magic and I realized that the Synthesist archetype for the Summoner class appears to be Ben 10. When he calls him Eidelon, that's him activating his Omnitrix (or Ultimatrix, depending on the Eidelon he's currently employing.) But that leads me to my question: Can the Eideolon be completely rebuilt when the Summoner levels up or are there restrictions on removing Evolution points, etc?

For instance, let's say I have Ben at level 1 with Humongousaur as his Eidelon. At level 2, he adds Bonus STR. At level 3, he adds Reach. At level 4, can he dump reach and Bonus STR in order to get Extra Limbs (Arms) and another Slam attack (to start using Four-arms) or is he stuck with Humongousaur?

Other ideas for Eidelons to work with the Ben 10 idea:

A quadrapedal pincer with some kind of lightning powers. (Brainstorm)
A biped grabber with Claws and a Slam attack. (Wrath)
A amphibian with a bite attack and some kind of lightning powers. (Lockjaw)

Anyone wanna try to work with this? I'm still new to the system, but it looks like it would work. And the Synthesist Summoner is key because the Eidelon "envelopes" the Summoner. Based on the description, it's more like Ben Ten-thousand's "Ultimate Ben 10" form but I don't see why I couldn't fluff it so the Eidelon appears completely solid while being used....

The way I look at it, if the Oracle speaks Celestial in times of stress and the rest of the party can speak Celestial, then the Oracle isn't really cursed. However, I think the idea someone else posted previously would work wonders for this: have the Oracle make some kind of check (Intelligence or Linguistics) when the curse would take over. If they succeed, then they speak only Celestial. If the fail, then they randomly speak a *different* language which none of the other PCs can know. This will better emulate the Curse from what I read of it. If they balk about this, just tell them that it's a better way to represent the Oracle's curse.

Lantern Lodge

Frustrated,

What game system(s) do you like to GM? Maybe you should suggest to your group that you GM one of those systems, since it sounds like you don't like Pathfinder. I would recommend GURPS but it's easily broken unless the GM is *well* familiar with the various rules.

We have all given you advice on how to proceed next. The next step is up to you.

Lantern Lodge

So, you have pregen characters or we make our own? I have a handfull of 4e characters that I planned out for LFR (and not-LFR) that I would love to see how they do.... :)

Also: WotC disagrees with you about not being able to tie 1-hours sessions together into a plot ... ever hear of Encounters? Personally, I don't like them, but there are lots of people on the Wizards forums and elsewhere who do like them.

At level 7, one of the more Charismatic PCs can take Leadership...

Lantern Lodge

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see a thread for MegaCon2011 and not one for MegaCon2012. :)

Lantern Lodge

Also, why is this thread talking about MegaCon 2011? Why aren't we talking about MegaCon 2012? :-D

Lantern Lodge

Yeah, I've read over the Campaign guide (played LFR since it started, so I know how those things go...)

I think that for a first character, there won't be any really weird rules to worry about, but then I see there are traits that I can pick and alternate race rules, etc. I'm ignoring the alternate race stuff and traits for now, since I don't have any books to bring with me...

I'm glad Herolab tells you what book most game elements are from so you can easily go find that book if you decided to use something...

Lantern Lodge

Awesome! I signed up for INTRO 2 and 3 on Sunday. That's cool. I'll get a character to level 2 my first time playing the game!

I downloaded Hero Lab (a friend of mine uses it for 4e, so I thought I'd check it out.) I like it and I have decided to buy the Pathfinder module for it. It looks like it simplifies things a lot. I'm working on making a couple of characters to bring with me to the Con.

Currently, I have a Dwarf Rogue (Thug) and a Half-elf Sorcerer (Dragon).

I also find it telling that the OP did not want to GM Pathfinder originally, but was apparently shoehorned into doing so. If you aren't happy GMing the system, don't. Tell them that you want to GM GURPS or 4e or AD&D, whatever system you like. They can either play that system or one of them can GM Pathfinder and let you play a character.

If not everyone is having fun, talk to the two players and ask them to tone down their characters. Let them know that it's great that they want their time to shine, but so do the other people playing at the table.

I hate it when (in LFR) I get someone at the table who just massacres everything in round 1 and the DM calls the combat. I want to do stuff too, dang it! I don't care that the combat was finished in that first round. That sucks and isn't fun for anyone except the one PC who did all the damage dealing.

Lantern Lodge

Yeah, I figured you were.

I would sign up for other Pathfinder games, but as I said, Fri and Sat are full up. Not sure what time I am leaving on Sunday, so I might see if there are any openings on Sunday before I decide to hit the road. :)

Also, I am still debating on what type of character to play for the Intro game....

Lantern Lodge

:: Shrugs ::

I don't consider LFR to be a problem.

Lantern Lodge

I will actually be dipping my feet into Pathfinder at MegaCon 2012. I wish the INTRO game was set up so that it could be run all in one day. As it is, since I'll be playing LFR on Friday and Sat, I'm only going to get into the first INTRO module.
