A character not aware, trained, or part of the mythos, fumbling his way into (or out of, considering the wake-up-and-confused start) insanity.
So likely not a full caster or devout, something more like an ordinary man in extraordinary circumstances.
Fighter, rogue, maybe a monk straight out of the monastery, possibly even a kineticist awakening to powers he doesn't understand.
Hard mode: npc class.
This is basically what I'm running around as. We started book 3 last night. My fighter has no clue exactly what's going on with the whole mythos stuff, but his companions keep telling him we need to stop this Lowl's guy, so that' what we're trying to do.
No problem. It's good to know that the grids are off though. It'll save me a headache if I end up running online.
Do you have the interactive maps? Worst case drop the grid from them.

Yeah, can't get past the personalization bottle neck.

After jumping back a page or 2, I think the admins need to make either a blog post that keeps people updated, or a thread that only they canr report it.
This thread is filled with people b*$*!ing about getting deep discouts and not being able to download immediately.
I myself in frustrated that the player's guide I've been waiting for can't be downloaded right now, due to the bottleneck. I understand that they didn't anticipate the chaos that would ensue, I just wish they were able to find a better solution.

Click slightly more often. Every minute or two if you can. It should prevent you being kicked back If you wait more than 30 seconds at this point, it reloads the page when you click again.

Subscribers have it, it's pretty great.

I may tweak it, make it less of an outright robbery and more of a brutal tax shakedown.
Well, it mentions the idea that they're doing it because the tannery hasn't been paying it's taxes.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. I've recently been playing in a Way of the Wicked game, released by Fire Mountain Games. In it, you play evil PCs bound to work together. It sets a very good tone early on of being cooperatively evil, and, thus far, holds to it(I believe we're 3/4s of the way through Book 2/4).
I'm hoping this strikes a similar vein.
Since this got moved out of Hell's Rebels, I was hoping to play in tht AP.
I've got Friday nights(Eastern timezone) open, and this looks like a cool AP.
I've been pondering a Warpriest of Milani. I'm an experienced Pathfinder player, and have used Roll20 quite a bit.
Email me at tyler.oneill@gmail.com if you have an open spot I could join up in!
Yeah... that creates such a low res map, it's unusable.
Guess it's back to doing it the other way.
ryric wrote: When I run APs using Maptools, I copy/paste them into Gimp than save them.
If you're having trouble copying them from a pdf, make sure your mouse pointer is set to the select tool, not the hand tool. You can change it by right clicking anywhere in a pdf. Then you can select the images and copy them.
Yeah, this is what I tried, and it doesn't allow me to select anything.
I subbed to the APs for Iron gods, so I have all the map PDFs, but I can't seem to find a way to extract HQ versions of the unmarked maps.
Any ideas? Currently I'm screenshotting them, which is a PITA.

PRD wrote: Squeezing: In some cases, you may have to squeeze into or through an area that isn't as wide as the space you take up. You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC.
So it's squeezed in there? That seems kinda silly, but alright. Seems like it makes it real easy for the players.
OK... so a little confusion here...
B6 has Ghelarn, which is large size. There is no area that is greater than 5x5.
So, what gives?
Davic The Grey wrote: tro1984 wrote: Bumping this. The archetype doesn't make sense at all.
No Improved Unarmed Strike, no Improved Grapple, which means strangle is incredibly difficult to use.
Without Improved Grapple(which, to even take at 1st level with this archetype, would require you to be playing a Human), you're looking at a CMB of +4(MAYBE +6), and the opponent would have to be flat footed(without combat reflexes) in order for it not to provoke.
Yeah, they get stealth. Whoop-de-doo. They're missing a pretty big aspect of the build at the outset.
Oh, no! You have to spend feats to make your character concept work? What blasphemy is this!?
Very, very few builds, archetypes and character concepts come online at level 1. But you get a bonus feat as brawler at level 2, in addition to having martial manuevers, giving you temporary Improved Grapple at level 1 if you must have it.
Speaking from experience as a strangler/snake bite striker brawler in RoW, this archetype is great. Grappling shuts down full attack actions, spells, dodgy enemies with high touch AC, etc. Well worth your opening round. Strangler with Snakebite Striker gives you easy solo sneak attack dps just for grabbing them, which you can get extra mileage out of with Greater Grapple and Grabbing Style. Stealth is for Bushwack, which makes breaking their CMD hilariously easy. For extra fun, dip a level of Shadow Dancer for HIPS, have allies cast darkness on you and pull enemies into shadows and leave behind broken necked corpses. It's not spending feats, it's require feats. At minimum, some type of ability that allows you grapple with out provoking would be nice, because as I mentioned, unless you play a human, you can't get Improved Grapple at first level.
As far as stealth goes, you simply can't manage to get stealth on guys all the time.
It's not missing a lot, I'm not asking to have IMprove Grapple added for free, but the ability to take it WITHOUT unarmed strike, or the ability to initiate a grapple with out provoking would make the set up make sense.

Has this been delayed? I'm a little confused here, the subscription pushed to October now, but I haven't seen anything else on it.
I apparently oversold Candlemere to my players, and they were extremely worried about the will o' wisps, so I put an encounter down under the tower, that was basically a custom demon with a fear effect under orders(from when the tower was still standing, ages ago) to scare a person in a cell. The cell itself kept that person alive, but they were gone mentally, having been subjected to fear for so long.
It's also a seed for if I choose to continue after Kingmaker, using an elven lich as the BBEG.
Our kingdom grew greatly in size this past Sunday, as we spent the whole session building. Check out that link above to see the additions!
Here's an update for our kingdom. We're just finishing Rivers Run Red now.

You can open a PDF of the adventure path in Photoshop and manually select each map icon and export it as its own .png document.
OR...
You can just use mine.
EDIT: If this goes against the copyright policy of the boards, let me know. For some reason, I couldn't get them as seperate pieces, so I just screen shotted them and did it that way.

Though...I can't seem to get the link to work. My links? Or your own?
I did update the map after yesterday's session(and reduced the size on the whole thing, was a bit too big), in which the explored some more and did a single phase of the kingdom, which created the 3rd settlement.
I'm nowhere near a photoshop expert, I know how to do a few things with it. I might be able to help, not sure what you mean though.

My players spent last session builing up their kingdom. Here's the map: http://tkingmaker.comze.com/kingmaker/Stolen-Lands.html
(you can click on individual towns to see the maps of them).
Who else has maps of their kingdoms!
We, of course have been using the Ultimate Campaign rules for the kingdom.
The map looks great!
The kingdom sheet however, selecting edicts doesn't stick, it goes right back to "None."
Is it possible for you to package these in a zip file for me to host on my own(and save bandwidth on your dropbox!)
Also, are you working on the other maps?
Thanks for the hard work! If my Kingmaker game ever gets going again I'll defiantly be using this stuff.
Is the date available for this incorrect? August 6 of 2013? Or is that intentional? We were hoping to run this at the store I GM for this Saturday. Or, do we have to wait until after GenCon?
Semi spoilerish....
How did others foreshadow this?
Am I missing something....? There is nothing on that skydrive.
To add, consider countering the ranged folk from time to time as well, heavy rain, dense foiliage, darkness(if they don't have easy access to a light source, though at level 10, that's doubtful, so you'd have to use magical darkness) all make ranged combat difficult.
