Surely this has been discussed in a previous thread, but I can't seem to find it.

When your readied action triggers on the next round, but before your turn, your initiative changes to just before that of the triggering creature or object. Does this mean that you lose any other actions that were not associated with the readied action? If your readied action was a move action, and it triggers, you forfeit all other standard, swift, and free actions for that round.

CRB (pg203):
If you take your readied
action in the next round, before your regular turn comes
up, your initiative count rises to that new point in the
order of battle, and you do not get your regular action
that round.

This makes sense with move and standard actions. But if the readied action was a swift or free action, it seems a little counterintuitive.

If a wizard readies a quickened spell on one round and it triggers in the next round, is he unable to move or take a standard action (or any other non-immediate action except speaking and AoOs) for the entirety of that round and until his turn on the round after that?

Thanks. I agree that it is more logical and intuitive to put the monster below CC but the legalist in me had to play it like that until I got a clarification. My wife gets impatient when i pause the game to look something up on the forums, so I took a chance and adjudicated. Looks like she was right... again.

Something came up tonight in our game. CC was on top of a location deck. One of our characters encountered a monster in the warrens. We rolled to determine which location's deck we had to place a random monster on top of. Of course it ended up being the location that had the CC. I maintain that the new monster needed to be placed on top of CC. For any characters at that location, their first EXPLORATION must be the CC. But since the new monster is on top of the location, someone could use detect evil to examine and encounter the monster before they actually explored the location and encountered the CC.

This may be wrong, but it seems in line with a literal interpretation of the cards.

Is it acceptable to keep track of the cards that have been removed from a location deck? Sometimes I don't want to close a location because the location deck still contains a number of boons. Would keeping notes on the cards that have been removed be contrary to the spirit of the game? I'm having a hard time justifying the ethics of such a thing. Thematically, a hero can't really know exactly what kinds of dangers a location contains, so why should the player be able to make decisions based on deck structure. It seems contrived and too "mechanicy".

Still, is something I'd really like to do.

That clears it up, cosined. Thanks!

From the character add on deck. I found a strength spell from the base set and it does say at the end of THE turn. However, the add on deck says at the end of YOUR turn. I have never noticed that discrepancy before.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I thought it would be better to ask this here than to create another thread.

I have been playing strength as though you should discard/recharge it at the end of the turn you played it in. But the last sentence reads "Discard this card at the end of your turn.". So the card's power only lasts until the end of the current turn, but it remains displayed until the end of the character's turn who actually cast the spell. Is this correct?

First of all, I DID search for this subject in the threads, but didn't find anything relevant in the brief time I reviewed the search result. I have a few questions.

First, in all cases of blessings other than BotG, the phrase "If the card of the blessings discard pile matches this card, recharge this card instead of discarding it" can be found. Since this phrase refers to the POWER of the top card of the discard pile, using the Blessing of the Gods card to duplicate the top card of the discard pile does not entitle you to recharge that BotG card per the phrase found in the recharge section of the top card of the blessing discard pile. Is that correct? If you use a Blessing of the Gods card, you pretty much HAVE to discard it, regardless if you use it for it's own powers or the powers of the top card of the blessings discard pile. Correct?

Second, can a player play a Cure spell during another player, or can Cure spells only be played during the turn of the player casting the Cure spell? Can this action occur at any time (e.g. during the beneficiary's turn), or can it only be played during the casting character's turn?

Third, if a player is entitled to look at the top card of a location deck and then return the card to the deck, is that player allowed to share that information to the other players. For example, if a player is allowed to examine the top three cards of the location deck, can he reveal what cards he saw to the other players and in what order he placed them back into the location deck? Or is this information for his eyes only?
