![]() Good morning, evening, or afternoon. I'm looking to recruit five players for a PbP campaign of Return to the Runelords. Recruitment will start today and run for two weeks until the 13th of November.. Here are the character creation rules. Allowed sources-
In the Company of Series plus the Secrets of the Iron Titan by Rite Publishing-This is a set of books that allows one to play as a monster class. They're balanced, and range from giants to vampires to dragons. Dreamscarred Press Psionics-What's been officialy published. No cross stuff with Path of War or their other akashic magic system. That's it for 3rd party. No other 3.5 stuff either. Character creation rules
Alignment: Good or non chaotic neutral characters only. I've seen evil characters played well, but in a PbP, they don't always mesh especially if murderhoboing comes to the fore. I'm also locking out chaotic neutral because I've seen too many people try to use it as a get of morality jail free card. Starting traits: Two. One of them has to be from the Return of the Runelords Players' Guide. The other can be picked as usual. HP and gold as normal for class
Moral magic (aka the three strikes and you're good or evil rule from Ultimate Horror) Ignore this rule. It's silly, unbalanced, and punishes players for casting any type of aligned magic. Necromancy is not inherently evil or good in my games. Phasrama will hunt you down if you create undead that didn't agree in their past life to be raised and commanded for a specific purpose, but she's not going to send out her inquisitors to murder you because you reanimated a group of people that were needed to help rebuild or guard their loved ones because they can't do it themselves. Return of the Runelords is a more classic AP then some of the one released later or previously. It combines exploration, investigation, combat, travel and so on. I look forward to your creations and questions. Have fun, a safe Halloween or November 1st, and I'll acccept submissions until the 13th of November. ![]()
![]() Greetings and salutations, fellow adventurers. The noble family of Stormcrow has invited you to participate in a tale of wonder, pearls, pirates, demons, and death, all in the ye old world of Greyhawk, using the Savage Tide AP converted to Greyhawk. Savage Tide takes place in the city of Sasserine located on the coast of the Amedio Jungle, north of the Isles of the Sea Princes. It is the year CY 596, 2 years after the defeat of the Cagewrights and 1 year after Kyuss was sent back to slumber in his wormy dreams. Sasserine is a city that survives on sea trade and large plantations of tropical vegetables such as coffee, bananas, sugar cane, and so on. You will start in this city of religious ferment and the power of the sea, plagued by pirates, and the tide of the ocean grows ever stronger... An example campaign of Savage Tide, including links to the city proper (provided as example, not my game) I'll update the players guide to Savage Tide tomorrow to Pathfinder standards. I also have Pathfinder conversions of the Greyhawk deities available. Master list of greyhawk deities here

Character Creation
Allowed races-All stock Pathfinder races plus 3.5 equivalents, such as aarocrocka, avariel, and so on. Catfolk are replaced by tabaxi, tengu by kenku, and others. No trox or noble drow, though common drow are allowed. Normal feat rules apply. Sasserine is very cosmopolitan and accepting of non-standard races/humanoids, so it's not just the big six. Allowed Classes
3rd Party is limited to Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed, The Grimoire of Lost Souls (binding magic update from the 3.5 Tomes of Magic) aka binders, In the Company of Series for monster classes by Rite Publishing (subject to GM approval based on the region), and that's it. Recruitment starts today and will end the 1st of March. ![]()
![]() Due to issues with keeping my Mummy's Mask play going since I have had 4 to 5 characters drop in and out over the last several months, I am spinning up a new Curse of the Crimson Throne PFRPG version recruitment thread (as I am sure 10,000 others are with the super new PFRPG version). I am looking for 3 players, as I have two already who may play a bard and a vigilante. Character creation rules: Roll stats 4d6, take the best 3, reroll 1s and 2 Starting level 2 Allowed races: Pretty much any other then noble drow or the 30 pt plus stuff like Centaurs and the like. If you have a 3.5 race you want me to take a look at, I'll review it.
3.5 prestige classes can come across without issue. Also the 3.5 binder form the Tome of Magic is also available, as is the PFRPG conversion by Master Arminas on these forums for the shadowcaster. HP max 1st level as always, roll for 2nd, reroll if you get a 1 (seriously, this isn't 1st Ed where you had a 2nd level wizard with 3 hps and 2 1st level spells) Starting character wealth 2,000 Traits 2 pick one from the old guide or I can send you the PFRPG equivalents Flaws are also in play from 3.5 UA or the ones on PFSRD20. Type of characters recommended: urban oriented, good to neutral alignments, Varisian or Cheliaxian human background. Korvosa is a 19,000 or so person human LN dominated city with lots of laws and wealth. Recruitment will be open until the 23rd of January. ![]()

![]() Ok, this recruitment will be a bit bizzare but usuable. Essentially, I am a DM without a group, and I have the itch to run again. I have most the APs up to Mummy's Mask, plus the 3.5 Paizo APs from Dungeon, and Way of the Wicked. I am looking for 6 players who want to run in any of the APs up to that point ala Pathfinder. I can do either a play by post or a rolld20 game. My available time for roll20 would be Sundays bi weekly EST any time from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm for a start, and play for a length decided upon by the players. I can also do Google hangouts as well. Feel free to PM me or vote on this post as you like. I'll tally them as they come in. ![]()
![]() Good afternoon, fellow questers through the Rise of the Runelords. I have a scenario that I am curious on how other GMs would handle it. My players, who are at 6th level, consist of a Halfling bard (straight no archetype), an elf forester/wizard (forester is a class from the now defunct Pathfinder database site which combines the 3.5 scout's skirmish, 1-6 levels of arcane spellcasting similar to a summoner, magus, or bard, the spells of which mix in traditional divine and arcane support/attack magics, and the ranger's trackless step at some point) 3/3 but who is running into the penalty of too much breadth and not enough specialization, a human cleric/summoner 3/3 of Desna (no archetype) who wishes to become a Holy Vindicator, and a 6th level dwarven fighter with two-weapon fighting specializing in Sunder and wielding two dorn-degars. We're currently in the Skinsaw Murders. After finding out a mass murderer who was a ghast or a ghoul was out killing people in ritualistic killings based on the Sihedron, they went to the Asylum and defeated the red herring in the Sanitarium. Afterwards they battled an onslaught of ghouls at the Craester farm (since they were all 6th level, they were bumrushed by waves of ghouls over a 11 round period), and they came back to town to get a bit of information on the key around the keeper of Foxglove Mansion's neck. While waiting, 2 more NPCs of Sandpoint (the half-orc sanitation engineer and the dwarven locksmith) were murdered by the Skinsaw Man. The Skinsaw man is obsessed with the elf when they went boar hunting in life, and is wrathful that he isn't being noticed. They went into Foxglove Mansion, not realizing that it was haunted (they failed to do much research, but received warnings on the house that strange things had happened there) and ran into several haunts plus the carrion storms that were out front. The dwarf failed his will save vs the haunt which forces you to believe another PC is your child, and grappled the halfing and rushed out the front door, after the dwarf fighter had been burnt by the fiery manticore trap previously. Then ran into the carrionstorms outside, which were destroyed by sound bursts and channel energy. Here is the fun part: Rather than going back into the mansion, they decided to head towards Magnimar as they found out that Aldern Foxglove had a townhouse there, and he must be lairing in the townhouse rather then in the manor (which is where he currently is). So the PCs will find the two faceless stalkers posing as Aldern and Iesha, and follow the clues to fight against Xanesha in the bell tower BEFORE they have eliminated the Skinsaw Man. Also, Tsuto, the mage from Thistletop, and Nualia all escaped from Thistletop back in AP 1, and have joined up with Xanesha to aid her in her schemes. So here is my question: How many ghouls will the Skinsaw man create and people in Sandpoint killed during and after the events in Magnimar? And what do you recommend for upgrading Tsuto, the mage and Nualia to help out Xanesha? Thanks. ![]()
![]() Good evening, oh wise and wizened sages of the Paizo boards. A humble gamer begs your indulgence. I have recently acquired a copy of Ultimate Combat, and I was curious about the construction times for firearms, both early and advanced. Since it doesn't require craft rolls to manufacture them with the Gunsmithing feat, how does one construct them via normal rules? The same also applies for ammunition, powder, etc. Thanks for your help. ![]()
![]() Greetings, fellow travelers in Golarion. I have a question to ask you. How do you treat clerics from other worlds retaining their power in Golarion/proseltyzing their deity's creed, in order to spread their worship? Since Golarion has no overpower to speak for regulating the arrival/response to such deities (at least by current canon, another reason why I like Golarion), no metaphysical law exists to prevent such gods from spreading their power to potential worshipers. Also by canon, are the planar/universal barriers open to new realms created by such worship? Could the existing gods lose divine energy and their portfolio to invader gods? |
