Loxley shook off the surprise at ‘not Jorn’s sudden articulation.
Perhaps it was the liquid courage he had been steadily imbibing that finally reached some critical point that drew out this noble indignation. If it had been only a few days earlier and the arcanist may have had a fire of her own to reply with, but at this point she just couldn’t seem to find it in herself to be more than just fed up.
She started to rise in order to give the man a sharp retort when Zeldana quickly replied.

Loxley couldn’t help but be impressed by her friend’s self control. She was sure that everyone could feel the anger buried under her unyielding, though not entirely unsympathetic, tone. It was a fierce reflection of the witch’s character that even at a time like this she could remain collected.

When she spoke, Loxley attempted to share Zel’s calm, even if she couldn’t summon the same level of anger. Mind you, she had her own anger, but it wasn’t directed at this man.

”You say we don’t know you, but do you truly know any of us? We have all been through trials and tribulations of our own.”
Loxley said as she petted Bandit.
“You would make light of their losses to spout your self-righteous indignation when we have clearly stated that we have no intention to sacrifice you.”
She tilted her head slightly.
”Zel is right, you speak of prices to pay but what do you think you owe for that vessel you currently walk in? And think how grateful they may be if you were to voluntarily help to return their loved one to them.”
Loxley eyes ‘not Jorn’
”Trust earned can be a rich commodity and services rendered can be fairly compensated.”

’And trust broken can be a hard blow to the spirit.’
She thought bitterly as the morning following their trek back into Thistletop returned unbidden.

Loxley jumped a little when she opened the door, only to be besieged by the Duchess.

It was too early to argue with the dwarf. She patted her belt, tucked in behind her sheath the rod hung mostly out of sight.
”I have it.”
She admitted with a small sigh as she hand waved the Duchess’s apology for her absence overnight.
”My clothes are fine. And yes, I do plan on attending breakfast. Preferably with my companions… if they haven’t come to their senses and will still speak to me.”
She muttered the last under her breath as she started for the stairs down to the hall. She didn’t have to look back to be sure the Duchess was following her.
”You think far too highly of me if you assume I have any chance of wrestling the throne to a fallen dynasty from the controlling forces of what is left of the kingdom.”
Not that she had any desire to do so.

Once in the main hall she glanced around, nervous of the reactions of the owner and staff. She would hate to have Ameiko turn her out into the streets for causing so many problems.

“Ah.”
Loxley chuckled nervously.
“I, ah, have not had the opportunity to venture that far to the south.”
She took a sip from her glass, having to hold it with both hands to hide the tiny shakes.
“Tho I do think it would be fascinating to see the Ketz Desert for myself. Books and drawings I think can’t do it proper justice. Nor have I had the chance to visit Absalom.”
She managed, trying to sound polite.

Thanks for the tagline image, Elann. Hey D'witt, thanks for the OoC telling us what your doing, but put something 'in game' that the characters can respond to.

He’s alone in the room and I wasn’t sure what he would find, so I wasn’t sure what to put. I was gonna wait for our GM to let me know if I need to roll anything or if he found anything of note to react to. So far it was a ‘there’s a desk, a chest, and ingots’.

Edit: just realize the ingots are part of what Anduriel found. :p

I was when I got a free moment. :p

Also, D’witt would argue, he’s not an orphan, he has a mother. :)

Loxley frowned as their captive continued to be uncooperative. She watched Corrin as he moved off in frustration. She could understand his anger, but Nualia had surrendered and they couldn’t just kill her in cold blood… could they.
Loxley shook head to dismiss the thought, returning her attention to the others interrogating the woman. Just in time to hear Nualia’s assessment of Zeldana, Loxley glanced in Zeldana’s direction and flushed a little as she quickly looked away. When Nualia’s unconscious body slumps to the floor she looks back, composing herself as Jarl snatches Sazzat’s coin from the air and reaffirms their intent to take her back.
When Orik mentions cells Loxley nods.
”That might work. We could finish investigating if we secure her.”
She looks around at the others.
”We could locate her quarters and perhaps find your due pay.”
Loxley glanced at the mercenary.
”You could then afford your travels. I know what it’s like to venture forth ill funded.”
Loxley feared her own travels would leave her stranded in Sandpoint. She had hoped joining this group of adventurers would have earned her some coins. At least enough to get her to the next city where she could find work. But here she was, tangled up in heroics, and her father had always told her ‘heroics got good people killed faster then they got them paid’.

A silence hung in the air for a long moment, heavy and ominous. Loxley was grateful when Sazzat broke the quiet. She had to shake her head at his inquiry.
”I don’t have the necessary spell readied. Once we get back to town we can split the work if you like.”
She offers Sazzat a tired smile.
”Before we venture further though, if anyone would like to help me gather the remnants of Yeda’s sword, that too could be mended given a time back in town.”
Loxley watches Sazzat start off down the corridor.
”It shouldn’t take long and just one extra set of hands would help. We can catch up with everyone else afterwards.”
She glances at Orik as he spins his planned journey and gives him a wry smirk.
”See, you could use the money she promised you. You should continue with them for now.”
Loxley joked, unconsciously separating herself from the others as she spoke.

Did we get xp before the fight? I don’t remember. I’ve gotten 4 points since starting

The statue shattered under the power of the Javelin’s blasters. Paper grimaced as he picked himself up and dusted himself off. He opened his mouth to thank MINOTUAR for his aim, but he stopped as the disembodied voice began to complain.
”The hell?
He started looking around. Straightjacket’s comments are less then comforting as his ghostly companion identifies the presence. Paper sharpened his gaze as his eyes darted around in search of the floating disaster source.
”You gotta be kidding me, I’ve seen news clippings on Supe’s past encounters with that pain. We are so out of our League.”
It was a bad pun, but it was a defense mechanism.

The light from the candles flickered as Loxley sat up in bed. Her back rested against the wall with the book propped up on her knees. She had been slowly working through the last bit of it since she fled the dining hall. Finishing the last page she carefully closed it and rested her hand on the cover.
What she had read was fascinating from an academic standpoint, but what it represented bordered on terrifying. Deep down she knew that anyone who actually followed these passages could not be left to their own devices. She leaned her head back against the wall, rolling it a little she glances out the small window at the night sky.
Sliding off the bed, Loxley set the book aside and rummaged through he pack. Pulling her spare clothes out she ventured out into the hall. Heading into the common room she took a moment to look around. She spotted Yeda near the fire but didn’t see Ameiko at the moment. Breathing a small sigh of relief she located Bethana and ask to use one of the bathing tubs. Insisting that she could draw it herself so the halfling wouldn’t have to worry about it.
A short time later Loxley laid in the warm water staring up at the ceiling. Her mind drifting over the last few days. This hadn’t been what she expected when she decided to stop in the small town. Goblins. Demons. The undead. A monstrous cult.
She envied the others, they all seemed to have an easier time speaking to others. She was concerned about Ameiko, but had been too cowardly to approach her about it. She could have joined the others but had stood back as Corrin and Zeldana stepped up.
”I am a coward”
She said softly into the empty room before closing her eyes and ducking her head to wet her hair. Loxley started to wash up. It was going to be a while before she would have this luxury again once they were out chasing the evils of the land.

I was thinking a bit on the what and where we destroyed. If we continue the on practice patrol with a mentor, I was thinking we caught up with a baddie around a local monument. Maybe a statue/monument to another hero/heroine/team, and it maybe, kinda, sorta got a little bit totally wrecked.
I can see it as a full page of a comic. The fallen hero laying amongst the rubble of the ruined monument. Pieces of broken heroes scattered along side the debris of battle. Surrounded be the students as the look on helplessly, the weight of something like this being in one of their possible futures...
Wow, that got a bit dark, sorry. :p

As for relationships; someone I hang out with to blow off seem, I’m open. Could see him starting a club playing tabletop/board games. Plenty of cooperative games for ‘team building ‘ and totally not just because they’re fun.

For someone I hurt accidentally, I’m also open. I don’t want to claim I hurt someone without their input.

I can, though give influence to Angel I think. While Gallant shows her normal etiquette, I can see Joshua wanting to show her the ‘magic’ of the world and let her discover awe and wonder of being alive.

I can also see him giving Slate (the Transformed) influence, wanting to find a way to help his teammate live some kind of normal life.

Not sure about the 3rd influence yet. Maybe once I can get a feel for some of the others.

The Mystuc Theurge really just gives you a bit of flexibility in casting. It doesn’t really add to the Druidic flavor. The hierophant adds to wild shaping, has you combine your familiar and animal companion, and lets you channel magic through your new familiar/companion.

And I just haven’t found anything that really feels like it in PF.

There was a 3.5 prestige class called ’arcane hierophant’ for wizard/ druid multi-classed characters. I haven’t found a PF equivalent yet.

Kywin looked down from the woman at the paws she clasped before her, a twinge of regret in her voice. "I was told, my entire youth, that I was special. That I was touched, chosen by the gods. I was told that the fur that separated me from the rest of my clan meant that I was destined to rise above them. I never believed them."
"If one is to do great things, they can not think themselves any more important then those they wish to help. And they should inspire in others a desire to do great things. The circumstances of one's birth should not dictate their importance, but rather their path through life should be their story."
The kitsune looks back up at the woman in her dream with a genuine smile, spreading her hands slightly. "If I truly am chosen I shall continue to believe that and I will strive to help everyone I can. You and my comrades will have my loyalty for as it is deserved."
She grins playfully as she clasps her hands behind her back. "But then again, even if I'm not chosen I will do the same. So it's not like you can stop me from doing what I think is right."

(note: still need to finish with equipment, other then that I think it's all there.)

D'witt glanced from the Garavel to the man. He lowered his pistol, but didn't put it away until Dashki fell to ground unconscious. Slipping the weapon back into its holster he turned his attention back to Fahada as she finishes questioning the burn victim.

The teifling follows her and joins the others standing over Dashki.
