When Our Team Came Together...

Newborn - They found you, and you saw the outside world for the first time and helped in the fight. Where and how did they find you? Which one of them gave you your first nickname?

Soldier – Our victory secured an important resource for AEGIS. What was it?

Nova - We destroyed our surroundings in the fight. Where was it? What did we destroy?

Protégé - We stuck together after all was said and done. Why? How'd we keep in contact?

Transformed - We drew attention and ire from plenty during the fight. One important person in particular now hates and fears us. Who is it?

DOOM -We paid a high cost for victory. What was it?

Harbinger -

Blue Symbiote - ??

Edelsmirge - ??
--------------------
We also need to decide on type of school and, influence and relationships

Maybe legacy?

If you want to remake the character you posted in recruitment legacy is a reasonable choice, however, as stated in earlier in recruitment the playbooks are as much about a trope as power type and source

I say we go with something along the lines of, we were on a mock patrol when a real group of villains showed up and we had to deal with them while our teacher dealt with the bigger threat.
I would also say, Lucas was escorting the newborn, attempting to teach it good habits in Halcyon city, because it could be useful if 'the nova' lost control. If all involved are good with that then my relationships are as follows.

'Newborn' is crucial to the long-term success of A.E.G.I.S. I must protect them.

'The protoge' or 'The legacy' isn’t always thrilled with the way A.E.G.I.S. handles things. I’ve come to value their critiques, even if I don’t agree with them.

If neither of you then i'll leave the disagreement w8th AEGIS open. These are all if ya'll agree of course.

I think the school setting could be like this. Everyone attending has powers, to varying degrees. But those who prove themselves get extra classes on true heroing. Often overseen by an older hero. There are a handful of teachers chaperoning in this manner and it'll give us plenty of npc possibilities to play with without limiting ourselves to non-metas

What's Aegis? I mean, I can guess it's shield, cadmus, argus etc, but what's the story on the organization.

Hayden, Also Hayden | Fae | Hot: 2; Cold: -1; Volatile: -1; Dark: 1 | Conditions: | Harm: 0 | Xp 0

They're more S.H.I.E.L.D. than Cadmus or Argus by default. The extent to which they're a sketchy shadowy organization is probably something that Gallant should have a lot of input on. Though of course, at least some corners of the organization should be able/likely to cause us problems ;-)

So for a price we paid, I'm thinking that an established hero fell in that battle, and it's something we're not quite blamed for.

I'm not picturing a death so much as them losing their powers/being forced into retirement. (Could be a Bane breaking Batman kind of thing too). Ideally this is still someone who's on staff at the school, serving as a crusty, crabby mentor type/warning of what can go wrong.

Let's see, for people who Hayden needs for her plans, definitely going to put Arcanum on that list, so he'll get influence... I kinda feel like I need to see more of the other characters than a Playbook to make some of the other picks though :-)

I think with a Transformed, it works better if he's not able to casually disguise himself. Though being 9' tall and super dense also works, especially if we highlight the whole "The World isn't built for people like me" aspects...

What about - the school we're attending is all supers (though I think it should also be open to unpowered supers), but to make sure that we stay empathetic etc. we're frequently going on like joint class trips etc. with the local mundy school.

Should allow ANGEL to act weird and learn stuff from people who have different baseline assumptions about how strange the world is, and for Slate to be able to come along to some things, and to be excluded and sulk from some others :-p

So if I’m looking at this line-up correctly, the slot of Janus is not taken yes? If so, I have a character in my back pocket that should work: Joe Hatathli, aka WATCHDOG. I think he might be a good fit here. Anybody mind if I take that spot?

Should be fine. How are you anticipating working Janus with the Super School concept? We tossed out thoughts earlier, just curious about direction :-)

Dude "Human" Lore-Lover Lv4, Star Wars Fanboy Lv12, Marvel Fanboy Lv11

Well, since we are in an explicitly super school, I had the fun thought that, instead of a mundane/super dichotomy, we could play around with a super/fantastical dynamic. My idea hinges on the fact that Joe has powers when he looks like a, well, average-Joe human, but that's not the full extent of his abilities. The trick though is that that full extent would out him as a werewolf, and subsequently expose the entire werewolf pack secretly living in Halcyon. Idk, I need to think things fully through yet, but that's the general gist.

Strings I have:

Hayden, Also Hayden | Fae | Hot: 2; Cold: -1; Volatile: -1; Dark: 1 | Conditions: | Harm: 0 | Xp 0

Hmmm.... interesting!

The one concern I have is that getting unmasked is arguably more common for a Janus than any other kind of hero that bothers with a secret ID. So if people finding out that he's a werewolf triggers the revelation of other people's Big Secrets, then I'd make certain that that won't leave Joe hook-less once the pack's been discovered.

Also (something I wish I'd done w/ Bran/Bron); when you're going substantially off-model from a Playbook, I'd recommend really reading through the Team Moves and thinking about how they might pop up. Otherwise it can be very easy to write yourself away from some of the levers that can help bring the team closer together.

Dude "Human" Lore-Lover Lv4, Star Wars Fanboy Lv12, Marvel Fanboy Lv11

Oh don't worry about him being hook-less. Arguably, things will get even more complicated if/once he's revealed. His big-bad would be a duo of monster hunters who, if they catch wind of the Halcyon pack, will basically pull a Kraven and start hunting the wolves down remorselessly. Plus, I have a whole back-log of pack politics crap that could be used before or after exposure. (I've had this guy in reserve for a while.)

Hm, duly noted. I don't think he'll diverge too much, but I'll make sure to read and think that through.

hp 39/43 AC 17

If we went with the downed hero thing... I DO have a mentor.

A.E.G.I.S.
The Advanced Expert Group for Intervention and Security is the primary governmental agency for the metahuman world. Its roots go way back to the Gold Generation, but it’s changed a great deal over the years. At this point, it has agents and strike teams, metahuman holding facilities, a tremendous intelligence network, and more. When metahuman law enforcement is necessary, it comes from A.E.G.I.S. That makes A.E.G.I.S. somewhere between a constant thorn in the side of the superheroes of Halcyon City, and one of their strongest allies.

I also wanna go over some stuff like the probably first advancement i'll take with lucas, which is the 'undergo augmentation: choose 2 new powers' But they're just gonna be Lucas getting some of his AEGIS gear back really. Namely his weapons, which fire rubberized bullets and beanbags coated in a substance that momentarily(like impact and done) disables super durability and the S.L.A.M.A.R(Sea Land Air Mobility Augmentation Rig) suit which sort of does what it says on the cover. These would fall under the 'Signature weapon' and 'an alternate/monstrous form' if the Co-gm's will allow. If the suit doesn't fit in that uh.. well.. poo, does it fall under 'augmented/mechanical limbs if it's removable?'

Design wise think the Ranger from Anthem, but functionality wise it really just gives flight(and underwater jetting), extended legs for faster running speed, and a sealed environment for hostile or oxygen starved environments such as underwater. No rockets, no laser blasts, none of that jazz just mobility augmentation and slight multiplication of strength.

On Co-gming i'm game to toss ideas out, but i'm awful at keeping up with actually writing out scene posts so i'll feed ideas to the gm and plot hooks if they want.

I really like that idea for the Janus it still fits the separate lives troupe without falling into the Normal persona/super persona trench that needs to be avoided with the setting we're going into. Slate being unable to truly hide his form really plays into the Transformed troupe, even if we had a holo being 2 tons of ROCK HARD AWESOME would make everything a pain. Always relegated to the stairs, the single stone bench in the cafeteria, sitting in the front or back of the bus so it doesn't level out when you go over a bump, etc etc...

I feel like the broken hero could work, we could make it a hero who was about to retire anyway(I was only two days from retirement) and go to raising the next generation as a teacher. I still think watching over ANGEL would be the most in-character thing for Lucas to 'secure for AEGIS' for the time being, but if the Janus is a werewolf and they've got suspicions then that would also be a good one, cause they're all about super and supernatural.

Elbow posted it straight from the book, but I've got some other plot-hooks involving AEGIS, such as the whole Blackout thing, was actually... well you'll see. Then the nanites that Lucas has are... well ya know... And also *this post has been redacted until further clearance is authorized*

I was thinking a bit on the what and where we destroyed. If we continue the on practice patrol with a mentor, I was thinking we caught up with a baddie around a local monument. Maybe a statue/monument to another hero/heroine/team, and it maybe, kinda, sorta got a little bit totally wrecked.
I can see it as a full page of a comic. The fallen hero laying amongst the rubble of the ruined monument. Pieces of broken heroes scattered along side the debris of battle. Surrounded be the students as the look on helplessly, the weight of something like this being in one of their possible futures...
Wow, that got a bit dark, sorry. :p

As for relationships; someone I hang out with to blow off seem, I’m open. Could see him starting a club playing tabletop/board games. Plenty of cooperative games for ‘team building ‘ and totally not just because they’re fun.

For someone I hurt accidentally, I’m also open. I don’t want to claim I hurt someone without their input.

I can, though give influence to Angel I think. While Gallant shows her normal etiquette, I can see Joshua wanting to show her the ‘magic’ of the world and let her discover awe and wonder of being alive.

I can also see him giving Slate (the Transformed) influence, wanting to find a way to help his teammate live some kind of normal life.

Not sure about the 3rd influence yet. Maybe once I can get a feel for some of the others.

I'm happy to have ANGEL involved with Arcanum and/or Gallant. Either one would make a good "first encounter" for her. I imagine that she would introduce herself with her full title, only to have one of them shorten it to ANGEL.

I could see Gallant giving her the name, being used to accronym shortening. The monument+hero injury would be nuts, it'd likely have to be against a villain way out of our league, or our teacher forbade us to help and couldnt defeat them themself, and by time we decided to ignore them and help anyway it was to late. As for hanging out to play games Lucas might join so he can try out being in a team in a safe environment that doesnt involve getting the crap kicked out of anyone.

@Symbiote Sounds good! Hayden will definitely have feels and opinions about werewolves. She's met a fair number of wolfpeople (described to her as werewolves), and none of them were friendly. Doesn't mean that your werewolves are remotely connected to the Fae side of things, but definitely will color her responses. (Or it could mean that just the Big Scary Alpha of Halcyon has paws in both worlds...)

@Gallant: That sounds like a good alternate form to me :-)

@Arcanum: I could see Hayden being hurt by Arcanum; that would definitely lead to her deciding that he's powerful enough that she needs to stay close to him. Also, coming back to find out that board games got good while she was in Faerie is one of her biggest surprises :-p
So whether or not she's who he blows off steam with, (though she's happy to play the devil on anyone's shoulder) she'll definitely be a part of the club.

@ANGEL: It occurs to me that Hayden could find simulacra that can have humanish personalities implanted in them very interesting, but that could definitely lead to a relatively predatory relationship between her and ANGEL (or others like ANGEL). That sound interesting? If not, happy to bark up another tree :-)

I can't see Hayden telling her full story to anyone who she could think of as The Man, so Gallant's out... Maybe Watchdog? I feel like she's the kind of person who won't tell someone who has influence over her everything, so I'm planning on splitting those up.
As for who she wants to kiss... I really need to see more avatars :-p

I'm picturing Hayden being a pretty late add to the group, possibly not being a part of the WOTFCT excursion until everything went bad. Bonus points if big scary villain is from her side of the pond, or at least vaguely mystical. Hayden's inclined to play her cards close to her chest, so I'd rather have circumstances make it clear to folk that:
a) she's magic
b) she has enemies
Then she can deflect and lie etc. but at least that means a baseline understanding of what's up with her.

Oh, also, something I realized I wasn't positive of: Hero Highschool, or University of Powered Individuals? I've been assuming Hero High.

I would say Colossus or something in theme with another of the in-universe, but no longer running, super schools, Titan Academy. It was privately owned instead of Government, but it went out of business when one of the students basically mind controlled the faculty and students and went crazy against the city.

Hey, sorry I've been so silent here--I've been forgetting to check in now that the discussion has moved to, well, Discussion. If everybody's moving on and there's not a lot of room for me anymore, let me know, I'm fine with bowing out.

That said, I do have the basic layout of Jasper Dumont, a.k.a. Phantasm set up. Still working on answering the backstory questions to my own satisfaction, and obviously need to figure out who gets what as far as Influence and the team questions. But the profile so far should give at least a basic understanding of what his deal is and how things will be shaping up.

As far as When Our Team First Came Together, the Reformed's addition is that We fought a terrible enemy from my old life, and we have to decide who it was and what they took from me. I think this can play decently into what we already have established for this moment: a fallen hero, a destroyed monument--it would have to be caused by some great and terrible villain, and that's what I provide. I think that moment might even have been the turning point where Jasper switched sides, aiding the other young heroes against his old mentor.

I'll have to work out the specifics, but Jasper's powers and theme are related to more esoteric "dark powers from beyond" sort of ideas, so probably something along those lines. Not necessarily a cosmic threat, but someone with that sort of vibe to their demeanor and power suite. I also need to dwell on what they took from Jasper personally. I think it should have to do with that image of the broken hero amidst the shattered stone of the monument: the idea that heroes are not infallible guardians who will always triumph over injustice. Could be there was a lot of collateral damage to the fight. In any case, Jasper comes in with a more soured and gray-morality view of heroes (and villains) than the average student at the school.

Preliminary thoughts, mostly! Still working out the bugs and settling on particulars. Hopefully it is adding something if I'm still good to be involved in this, though!

Male Human Nova Freak: +2 Danger: +1 Savior: 0 Superior: 0 Mundane: -1

@Angel: Gallant definitely seems more likely to catch the acronym and give Angel her name.

@Hayden: I can see how that could work. If not during a practice, then probably during the big fight when he felt it was unavoidable to unleash some powerful blast.

I also just have this hilarious vision of Hayden and Gallant in the same dorm and you've got one half that's a portal to the Fey wilds and the other half is as utilitarian as it gets and the fey wilds just die off when they enter the area. If the rooms were co-ed, but I doubt individual rooms would be but just.. the mental image of some plant or something popping out of Hayden's side and happily(and probably murderously) skipping over to Gallant's side only to shrivel up and die from his sheer un-magic is funny to me.

Ta-dah! Alias made!

Okay, I finalized the crunch for my boy here, and I formulated some RP hooks to play around with. You can get most of them by reading the backstory on the profile, but here's a bulleted list for those who live in the tl;dr mindset:
> Joe's future in the werewolf pack, and relatedly just how much of werewolf life is influenced by magic. Are they a manifestation of a disease? A natural magical force? Aliens? Who knows!
> What went down when Joe's powers were exposed, and how that got him and his whole football team in trouble.
> The history of werewolves and werwolf hunters. Since Joe doesn't know their names yet, the hunters that will feature most prominently are Arthur Ghoulsby and Zenobia Holloway, a Van Helsing-styled duo that are ostensively on the side of good.
> The stupid amount of Pack NPCs I've made, primarily Dave and Big Red, but with an ongoing mystery as to who the Alpha is. Side note here, if anybody feels like making one of their NPCs secretly the Alpha, I am so down for a crossover reveal. ;)
> There is 100% going to be a scene where Joe needs to lead the team through Pack territory and shit hits the fan hard.
> I have an idea in my back pocket of there being a news outlet that becomes our biggest critic. Idk, I'm not married to this idea, but if other people want to run with it I'm down to do a J. Jonah Jameson impression anytime.
> Ongoing sub-plot of Joe trying to reclaim his popularity from his old school. If we're in a high-school, setting this might be played more for laughs, but if we're doing college this might be played as a legit vanity problem he has. We'll see.

Now I'm torn as to how many people should/would know about Joe's fuzzy secret. I feel like Hayden would know, or at least suspect, but I don't know about everybody else. Anybody have thoughts on if their character would know Joe's deal?

Also, I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere, but did we decided on what style of GMing we're doing? I know there was talk of the round-robin style, but I don't remember a definitive yea or nay on the matter. :/

Giving it some thought I think Gallant would be the least likely to notice the werewolf, simply because of all the things AEGIS has their fingers in magic and fantasy is the one he believes the least. Meaning he'd think the werewolf and fey based powers were actually just transformative and cosmic wonkery respectively. Despite his entire operations unit being Arthurian in it's agent naming, be they ideals, places, weapons, or actual characters from tales. Hence why his is the ideal of being Gallant.

I think college does sound a bit more accurate, like it'd mean that we have all had time to get used to our baseline powers(maybe still not at 100%) and also if we were to do relationships it would be handwaved as they're in college and as such of age and thus not against Paizo and general rules.

Plot hooks:
AEGIS is keeping a lot more information about Blackout and Lucas's sister than he's aware of, though he hasn't sniffed out any of those clues yet.

His nanites super advanced even for AEGIS tech, so did they actually come from Earth?

What are Blackout's true goals, certainly not something as simple as growing it's mass into an unstoppable nano horror.

Oh also here's a great question about the faculty, how much do they know about us, our secret identities, backgrounds, powers, etc?

NPCs:
AEGIS Operation Chief "Knight Avalon"(Lucas's mother and head of his section cold, interested in the job getting done), AEGIS Jr. Operations Assistance "Agent Gwendolyn"(Gallant's operations assistance manager, who he has to go through for supply requisitions and aid), Super History teacher "Chronos"(can project moments of time for his classes, saves on the holo-room budget), S.P.E teacher "George Deadlift"(Supers Physical Education teacher, rather scrawny when relaxed but buffs out when he's on the job), and everyones favorite

Honestly I could go either way on it, they both fit the still growing up narrative of MASKS, one allows us quite a lot of freedom when it comes to heroing, while still keeping us in a rules filled setting. The other makes heroing a bit more difficult considering we'd be younger and have less lee-way with getting out of assignments or classes.

Male Human Nova Freak: +2 Danger: +1 Savior: 0 Superior: 0 Mundane: -1

High school vs college? Both have some fun RPing opportunities.

Like Gallant said, being younger limits freedom of movement, but brings in the ‘breaking the rules to do the right thing’ feeling of sneaking out to fight crime. And the stern lecture from the adults when we mess up balanced with the feeling of joy from being given credit when we succeed despite the odds. Having a little bit of leeway when we do make mistakes, because we are still just kids and still learning to be heroes.

But, college life has the life changing time of finding your place in the world. Learning to balance the demands of life (college classes and homework, commitments outside of the team, maybe even part time jobs) against the responsibilities of being heroes. Finding love and making friends outside of school and the team. Becoming more fully responsible for our actions both as people and heroes

I’m good either way. But if pressed the college setting might be better. We can create more backstory. Have fun with flashbacks, rivalries and old enemies (maybe even a few villains that had been young criminals when the team was younger had kinda grown up fighting from time to time).

Considering that, especially if we go the college route, Joe’s pretty obsessed with his appearance, I think a semi-unhealthy infatuation with Hayden wouldn’t be unfounded. ;-)

So I realized that I completely forgot to flesh out my NPCs, which is funny considering I was the one calling for that earlier. :T So here’s my roster as it relates to the school:
> Morgan Sparks, Joe’s current romantic interest. The two of them are going through some rocky times as Joe’s been recently [transferred to super-high/moved from his intended university to Super-U].
> David “Dave” Whitfield, the “school janitor” assigned to the area of student housing Joe lives in. The two of them talk a lot, which is kind of weird, but otherwise he’s a fine custodian with a polite attitude.
> “Big Red”, Joe’s immediate manager in the Pack who works at Super-U as a teacher. I’m willing to make him be the same NPC as somebody else’s teacher, that might be fun, but otherwise he’s a Bio 101 teacher named Mr. Clifford.

Also my WOTFCT:
We Dave’s the life of someone important, either to us or the city. Who was it? Why are they important?

I'm seeing... 3/5 or 4/5 we have a few middle-grounds on the college idea, not sure if more are gonna join but i think the majority is college bound so far.

Also HOLY crap yes, I can totally imagine us sitting on the side-line because we were told to and we're all "Oh crap, Pandemonium just broke Bastion to the curb... wait.. he's going for a killing blow, Guys screw this we gotta get in there." And then just all of the heavy hitters plowing into the side of the baddie while the others scrape what's left of the hero off of the ground. Or maybe Jasper-Reformed, the villains side-kick/minion blind-sides em and we start to turn the tide back because we simply have a numbers advantage.

The destruction would cause City Councilman Nathan Xavier to want us to tighten up our restrictions on damage caused by super activities, despite the actions of villains being largely unpredictable, marking Slate's bullet and we'd get to rescue the near-death hero also wrapping in Joe's bullet on the list the Reformed gets a mark off for a terrible person from their current now past. It's a nice three-fer(might be forgetting everyone's WOTFCT)

The Playbooks are pretty well designed not to step on any of the other’s toes, so you should be fine. :)

Well that entirely depends on who your parent god is. If we’re really going classic Greek hero here and your guy’s a son of Zeus, then option #2 (might/beauty/speed) would probably fit best. If we’re taking cues from stuff like Percy Jackson, then the flight option might be better.

Here is my character how do I pick labels and assign numbers to those?

(Cool take on the Legacy btw. Look forward to RPing in regards to that personality you show in the background. ^_^ )

Okay, so you see how there are bolded numbers for each label? That’s where they each start for you. However, at character creation, you get to add +1 to one of those labels. For example, Joe here normally had a Savior of +0, but since I think he’d start this story a little full of himself and self-righteous, I added that +1 there. Plus, it works well with my Mask move. That make sense?

Is she a reincarnation of a demi-god? Its freaking cool though breaking away from the standard legacy idea gave me some ideas for other characters now. Im stocking weigh Lucas though but it's given me ideas. Plus some good ideas if i decide to change playbooks. When you change do you keep your old powers and just start picking advancements, or do your powers switch over?

That is entirely dependent on how and why you are switching Playbooks, as is most things in this game. A Beacon becoming a Protege because they earned an older hero’s favor? Powers and playbook moves stay. Beacon becoming a Transformed because they got dunked in science goo? More than likely your powers and moves are gonna change.

So Phoibe, a lot of Legacy-style heroes have other members of their lineage veerrry much in the public eye. Do you envision other members of your pantheon having been recent heroes or villains?

Also, I noticed that you're down as a University Instructor; one of the core assumptions of the game is that all the heroes are teens/mayyybe young adults who are, well the New Generation. That doesn't mean no immortal goddesses of course, but what are some ways you see Phoibe as still growing and finding her place in the world, or rebelling against parents, or other fun teen-drama stuff?

Male Human Cleric of the Helix

Oh crap, I totally lost track of posting regularly here and updating my character. Uh, let me get on that. Should be wrapped up soon, hopefully!

As far as college/high school goes, I'm fine either way. I agree that if we do a university type setting it should have us all as freshmen: young, inexperienced, with everything to prove. Maybe we're coming in a little ways into the first semester, since the team did all come together already? Or maybe we had one hell of an orientation week.

Also, I'm totally on board with the idea of us teaming up to stop a big bad guy. I had a lot of thoughts on something like that happening, particularly with my character turning from villainy. If that works for other folks, I'll bake it in.

Also, big bad guy in question still on the way, unless anyone else has already created/suggested them? I see the name Pandemonium, which I like.

Ha! I'm totally down for Pandemonium as a name.

I'm a big fan of the Dresden Files take on immortals where the big ones have taken on a few mantles over time, and I'd headcanoned/carried over from Hayden's previous outing that her father The Goblin King had been known as The Great God Pan in the past/to different people.

So whether or not Pandemonium is actually connected to/empowered by her father (I'd vote yes, but either way's fine), Hayden would definitely take his appearance as a sign that she needed to find a safer way to hide (i.e. among a bunch of other superpowered weirdos)

Oh, also, planning on tossing Phoibe influence, wanting to kiss Joe (though Arcanum just got a pretty avatar too... Eh, I think I want to keep who she takes seriously (influence) and who she wants to kiss separate anyways), and probably telling Phantasm the Real Story about her doom.

Phoibe thinks that all of the heroes and gods and goddesses are gone. Surprise they are not. Secondly I can downgrade to student and not be a teacher. Lastly I was thinking that maybe the soul of Phoibe is the goddess but the body has changed like Dr Who so she might have real parents etc who have no idea why their daughter suddenly started acting and talking in ancient Greek etc.

@Hayden: Thanks for the compliment, I figured since we settled on college as the setting I would find one a little more mature. The other seemed a little more teen-hero with the long wild hair and face mask. Plus I liked the faint aura around this one. :)
Also, what Dresden book have you read up to? I just recently finished Cold Days.

I like the sound of this Pandemonium villain, could prove to be ‘interesting’.

NPCs ideas:
Professor Natasha Carmichael: professor of biology and organic chemistry. In her early career Professor Carmichael was also known as Shaman, a magic based heroine. Tall and looking younger then her 40something years, she does sport a Mohawk of pure white hair (think young Storm for the X-Men when she had a Mohawk). Smart, professional, and hard on her students, she still manages to be well liked and approachable. And, from time to time, she has put the mantle of Shaman on again when needed.

Jean Downer: a college freshman, Jean skipped several grades to enter at only 15 years old. Somewhat emotionally and socially stunted do to her inability to connect with other children growing up because of her advanced intelligence, she sometimes struggles with interpersonal activities. But, ultimately she does want to make friends, if she can overcome her social problems. A technical and engineering prodigy, she is also a technomancer, possessing the ability to manipulate technology with her power. With the help of her personal AI system, Cynthia, Jean can create nearly anything she wants. Her only limit is access to resources. (Sidenote: yes, Jean was my backup character idea. :p )

Creepshow: a villain as twisted as his name implies. His ability to manipulate flesh, twist it to what even whim strikes him is both devastating and disturbing. No one is quite sure how he manages to create his abominations, his chimeras, his... pets, but it’s undeniable that it is something to be feared. His motives seem to be random and unpredictable, but keen observers may notice that most all his endeavors border on something akin to twisted curiously or ‘science for science sake’.
