Following the group through the cave, Guide looks about in awe. "This would be so creepy without you guys..." she whispers.

As the smell wafts over, Guide wrinkles her nose. "We should go a different way." she proposes, pointing to the nearby staircase (which is X).

Storm thinks on what may cause this type of injury and remembers the worries about undead. "Recall notes on vampires. Ignore codenames Lazlo and Nadja."

Can you make a Religion check on vampires to see if Storm believes they would cause this? +3 to my check.

It wasn't me! I didn't cause the trouble!

Frustration finally grins. "Interlopers outside, huh? Perhaps it is time for me to draw my blade."

"Destruction, heed my call. The flames of war shall burn tonight." he utters as he draws his greatsword. The blade shimmers in power as it is encased in grey flames.

Frustration is not brandishing at anyone yet, but he also barely has time to ready his weapon for a fight, so DM discretion on if Reast thinks he is an ally or an enemy.

Lost in his mental simulations, part of Storm's mind handles the introduction of Gilgamesh with his trademark flair. "Analyzing language... Gilgamesh, potential greetings in Necril, more research needed... no known phrasing in Elvish, Auran, Aquan or Terran..."

Seeming to snap out of his reverie, Storm makes a mechanical half-bow to you. "Gilgamesh to you as well. If you speak the Common tongue, then allow me to start introductions. he states while still half-bent before standing upright at the end of that sentence. "I am the flash of lightning, the rain against your roof, the calm betwixt the storms, you may address me as Storm, adherent and loyal follower of Gozreh. These two loyal Pathfinders are Justfynn and Garrace Garrace of House Elaethros."

---

As the letter is posted, Storm quickly scans the document. "Notation: farm, alpacas, murder, due north from locale, Petitioner's Port; contact: Wilhuff Harjhack; reward: 20 gold pieces. Sub-notation: need clarification on if said reward is per individual or per team."

Seeing the woman leaving after hanging the post, Storm approaches her. "Greetings fair miss! I am Roar of the Storm, esteemed follower of the glorious god Gozreh, recent monk of the Pantheon Monastery of the Farhallow Mountains, current Pathfinder initiate of the Pathfinder Society, and wielder of three tridents." he says with a final motion to indicate the three tridents hanging from his pack. "I am currently partied with Justfynn, 73% chance of being a Kellid barbarian; Ser Garrace Garrace of House Elaethros, 62% chance of being of a clerical order, 27% chance of instead being of a knightly order; and this half-orc who has a 17% chance of only speaking an unknown language. We will be taking this bounty without objections."

"If you don't mind, I have a few questions. Is there any more relevant information of this bounty that you have posted? What is your name and position as reference for my notes? Are there any indications as to what is murdering the camelids? Are these camelids, in fact, valuable monetarily, or is this a situation of subjective worth?" he states all at once before waiting expectantly for a chronological response.

Ah, the epic battle of the Vampire and her mohrgs versus Flinders, Faraz, Basalte, Terrill, Deadmond and Dragorin. So many close calls during that fight and it is when we found out that people sing country songs to themselves while paralyzed.

Sticking around for now Not quite gone.

Watching as the group tears through the remains of the Asylum, the Twin follows behind the group, oddly quiet and reserved as he flips the dagger around in his hand. The Snake slithers along side him as the Twin watches the crazies butcher the Doctor and then worry about blood.

"Perhaps you should have considered the blood spray before you hacked off her head, Mariner." the Twin says dourly as Brother and the Butcher fumble around with pitchers of water.

Seeing a staircase in the corner, the Twin edges around the blood as the Snake's tongue flicks out, lightly tasting the pool before they reach the base of the spiral stairs. "Check it out, friend." Twin says as the Snake nods and slithers silently up the steps to investigate the lofted library.

Snake-Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Snake-Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

As the Snake investigates the staircase, the Twin will take the time to examine the door nearby. "Once you all finish your collective sponge bath, perhaps we should keep moving. The roiling yellow fog outside the windows is probably not going to be kept at bay by simple glass for long." he says in an effort to get them to focus.

The Twin nods to Mariner as he moves with the man, keeping about 30' between him and the man, but he he gives a flick of the hand as he speaks softly. "Follow him to make sure he doesn't die."

The Snake slithers forward to follow the Mariner as the Twin opens the door into the hallway revealed by Brother.

To Brother, Twin nods to the northern door as he and the priest of Desna moves towards it. "Use your palm-eyes to look through this door while Mariner deals with that door. It will help us speed up a bit."

The Snake loosens from around Ratch and the Twin looks at the offerings to the group. "Apologies for my friend eating all of your kin. Next time you should just say hello." he says as his eyes flash with magic.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Unidentified.

The Twin recognizes the cloak and shrugs, unsure if he really wants one. "I have a fairly nice dagger. I don't need the cloak, though it will boost your innate defenses against magic and poison and the like." he says. "But, I don't know what the brooch is."

"Also, we have no need to boot them from the building, nor do we even know if we can." he says, feeling a bit bad for causing so much harm when he and the Snake hardly have a scratch. "Let them stay here and make sure you tell the Inquisitor of whoever that they are here and are peaceful."

Looking to Ratch and Genny, the Twin narrows his eyes. "Be nice to the humans." he starts. "Now, where can we find the Catterman... I mean Tatterman?" he asks, stumbling due to Cats' constant alteration of speech.

Reigan waves off the group, except Terry. "Guys... No offense, but you aren't exactly the type to work this angle. Find the dwarf some ale and let me and Cherry get this done." he says as he extends a hand and coughs, taking 20 gold pieces from each person.

As Reigan and Cherry make their way through Bridgefront, Reigan nods to the nearby shack. "Remember coming here when we had like twelve gold to our name? Those were some good times..." Reigan reminisces as he pushes open the door and the pair sees the old woman knitting in the corner.

She looks at Reigan and sighs before snapping her fingers. A set of floorboards magically begins to shake and turn into stairs leading below the building as smoke and sounds of enjoyment and loss echo up from below.

---

The lights are dim and the room is filled with smoke as the familiar sights of gambling, drinks and beautiful women are taken in by Reigan and Terry.

Reigan moves up to one of the tables and pulls out the gold collected from the others, in addition to some of his own and sets down 150 GP onto the table. "Hey, Jeremiah. Long time, no see." he says with a huge grin. The dealer behind the table rolls his eyes. "Figure you'd have died in a gutter by now, Reigan. Boss won't be happy you are here."

"Eh, well, I just need a favor and I'm willing to pay. It's on the up and up, see. I got Cherry with me and he never tried to swindle you lot, so you should know it's for real." he says with a nudge to the taller man next to him. "Work the room, Terry!" he whispers to Terry.

Coughing, Reigan gets his cards and looks at them briefly before talking some more. "Need to find a guy. No name. Just need one of the shiver dealers to offer up some information on a guy."

Reigan slides his cards back to the dealer and utters the word. "Fold." As the cards slide back, they push the stack of gold back to the dealer and the man flips the cards over, looking at them and finding a winning hand.

"I'll see what I can do." the man says. "Send em to my usual place. You know where I like to haunt." Reigan adds with a smile as he stands up and takes his leave, grabbing a flagon of wine off a passing waitress's tray and heading up the stairs to the street.

The Twin watches as the group panics due to Cats screams. "So dreams can harm you in this forsaken world?" he says, unbelieving off what is happening in front of him.

As Brother Butterfly rushes to wake the man, the Twin feels like this cannot be true, so he keeps his eyes peeled for some sort of invisible creature. "Maybe that last ratling came back for punishment on the Cat. Seems fitting." he says as he waits for the results of Brother's attempt to awaken the sleeping man.

As the Flaxseed Lodge winds down for the evening and Ace's bar is in full use, the sound of trumpets erupts from the front of the Lodge as Karu boldly opens the door, hoisting a smallish sarcophagus with three of his lieutenants. Behind the sarcophagus and its pallbearers, four Pathfinders and a faerie dragon follow.

"Attention, Lodge!" he yells as several of the trainees from the Bold Striders immediately stand to attention. "We have grim... terrible news." he says, correcting himself once he realizes his error. His face remains somber.

"The mighty dwarf Grimdoc has perished in combat. The unstoppable force of the Emissary from Beyond descended on Dustpawn a few days ago. Grimdoc and the valiant Pathfinders behind me were the only ones to stand their ground against the monstrosity." he says proudly.

"In its last breath, the Emissary stripped away Grimdoc's soul before the valiant Ennoia the Bold could finish off the slimy beast." he informs the Lodge. "The remains of Grimdoc shall be interred with his family, however we shall erect a statue of this mighty warrior in the Training Hall in order to inspire those here."

Karu closes his eyes for a moment and composes himself. "We will place this sarcophagus in the catacombs beneath the Lodge as he was both a Pathfinder as well as a dwarf and deserves to be recognized as such!" he yells before marching towards the entrance to the Catacombs. The trainees of the Bold Striders immediately bow as deep as possible when the entourage passes.

GM Aarvid's Brother Grimdoc has permanently perished in service to the Society. His sacrifice allowed for the rest of the group to survive and the costs of retrieving his soul were deemed too high by the dwarf once he was contacted via Speak with Dead. Huzzah for the mighty Grimdoc!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

POW!

As the Twin flees, he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off, running back into the library and slamming into a bookcase. You see that he has somehow lost his tunic and his chain shirt, running around without a shirt.

The dazed man stumbles backwards and sees the scene of horror before him and runs off into the asylum once more. "Help me, Ospra-Winnahprey!" yells the man as he disappears from sight.

With a final volley of arrows, the Emissary is put down, however Grimdoc's soul is ripped from him as his body disintegrates into a pile of dwarven brainstem and a pair of eyeballs. The remains seem to slowly creep towards the Emissary, but as the creature perishes the last bits of Grimdoc stop moving.

The bad guy was a Vespergaunt.

With the Emissary's defeat, the doom that had come to Dustpawn passes. In time, the town's waters recover from the dream crystal toxin's taint (faster, of course, with your aid), and the people of Dustpawn recover from their curse. The wreck of the Lirgen's Glory becomes a new draw to the town as word spreads, and the influx of curious scholars and historians seeking to explore the wreck breathes new life into the town.

It may not be enough to completely revitalize Dustpawn to its glory days as a thriving mining town, but it's a breath of fresh air nevertheless, and the townsfolk know they have you to thank for it. After a few days and some clandestine manipulation of the town's black market, the townsfolk present you with rewards of thanks for the people of Dustpawn have come to know their heroes.

Dalviss Crenn himself thanks you in person. He offers you his amulet and belt as thanks and hands over the promised halberd for their work, and lets them know that should they ever find themselves in Dustpawn again in the future, they'll never have to pay for a meal or room.

Yet despite the festive atmosphere, not all in the region is the same. Dustpawn's citizens will suffer from an unusual number of nightmares for the rest of their lives. And when the ship fell from the sky, it scattered fragments of itself across the countryside. While the cultists have scoured the region for these fragments, some may yet remain in the wild, their tainted energies slowly seeping into the environment, waiting patiently for a new host to infect . . .

I will wrap up Chronicles and last minute purchases tomorrow! You have saved Dustpawn!

Karina looks to Jane and tries to explain how the dragonfire works. "The dragonfire isn't metaphorical or granted by a god, but is similar to ki which is power that emanates from the Plane of Positive Energy." she says, considering her words carefully.

"The kundalini, or dragonfire, is a manipulation of the seven ki sources within the body using earthly power to shock the chakra gates into opening farther than possible with just ki. Ki is needed initially to manipulate the gates, however the power granted is not from ki itself." she says, hoping this explanation is sufficient.

I cannot imagine that the Old Man would ever be sent to train someone like him." she says with disdain as she tries to vocalize her innate distrust of the mind-stealer.

The group divides themselves to take care of the four chores and they seem adequate enough at the menial tasks, leaving the mysterious dingy curtain. "I might just do that, York. I might just..." he says, his bright green eyes focused on the curtain as he trails off in his speech.

"Let's, uh..." he says, enraptured by the possibility of freedom. "Let's try out door number one, Mr. Snake."

The half elf and his companion make their way to the curtain as they cautiously look around, expecting this to be a trick and the dreaded Straightjacket of Feeblemind to make its appearance, however nothing will stop the half elf from pushing open the portal to the outside world to see what lay in store for him and his no-legged friend.

I'll get an update out tomorrow morning, but I want to comment on the poison.

You roll for each application. If you are already affected, each additional dose you are hit by is another check at a +2 (cumulative) DC. On your turn, you will roll again at the highest DC. All failures result in the damage and each additional application increases the amount of time the poison is in your system by half of the original. If you are hit by three 1 round/6 rounds poisons and fail all three checks, then the poison lasts for 12 rounds and is at +4 DC and you have taken three checks worth of damage.

Relevant Scenarios from the Paizo Poison Blog:

Scenario A: Valeros is hit by an arrow coated in greenblood oil. He fails the DC 13 Fort save and takes 1 point of Con damage. At the end of his turn, he fails a saving throw against the poison and takes 1 more point of Con damage. Before his second turn, he gets hit again and must attempt a DC 15 Fort save (because 1 dose is already affecting him). He fails this save as well, which deals another point of Con damage, increases the save DC he must make each round to 15, and extends the total duration by 2 rounds.

Scenario B: Valeros is hit by a pair of arrows coated in greenblood oil, during the turn of one enemy archer. He fails the first DC 13 Fort save and takes 1 point of Con damage. He then must make a DC 15 Fort save for the second arrow. He makes this save and suffers no ill effect. On his turn, he must make a DC 13 For save (since only 1 dose of the poison is in effect). He makes this save and takes no damage, as the poison ends. If he is hit again on the next turn, his save would reset to DC 13.

So if you fail the initial poison effect on the div's turn, then you roll again at the end of your turn. Most people think you just roll once on the post you make after being hit with poison.

Seeing that Brother Butterfly is trying to act as some sort of guidance counselor, the Twin scowls when he is mentioned by the portly fellow. "Mind your own business, Brother. This lass likely knows of the problem with the undead and I'll wager that she was sent to cover up this 'tragedy'." he says with a snarl.

Without another word or waiting to listen for a response, the Twin moves to York, keeping his distance as the Snake slithers alongside him. "Oi! York! You said that we are allowed to leave, right?" he asks, inferring this from his comment about if we wish to stay. "I'm free to leave all you whelps behind?"

The Twin looks at Cats and smiles. The prescient man feels a bit of reaffirmation as Cats seems to have lost his jaw to the floor for a moment. "I believe you are wanted in the front, Mr. Cats." he says with the sickening smile.

Cats:
"I think you are the expendable one." he whispers as you move towards the front of the group.

"You are quite wise, Brother Butterfly." states the Twin as Cats joins the Desnan. "Let us continue to enjoy your natural luck."

The Twin hears Brother Butterfly monologue for a good minute's worth of time as he moves over to the fallen centipede that was slain by his blade. "Give your enemies death, not a lecture." he mutters as he bends over and yanks out the dagger from the vermin's carapace.

Schiiiiick!

Gore drips from the blade as the Twin flicks the globs free with a swift motion, spattering the wall with the centipede's innards.

Hearing that the rest of the group seems to doubt the presence of an enemy, the Twin becomes confused as he trusts in his Snake's report, however he cares little to contest their beliefs at this time.

"Perhaps you should have kept an eye on it, Pinkie, instead of uselessly moving to stab a centipede that had already been slain by my blade." he offers, already knowing that this 'Aunt Kate' is going to aggravate him.

"ਸਾਰੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਤੱਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਓ." utters the half-elf as a shimmering force field appears around the Snake. Mage Armor on the Snake.

"Go check the next door, Snake." whispers the Twin near the tattooed head of the snake.

---

The Snake nods in a swaying motion as he slithers along the wall, choosing to climb the rocky wall before moving along the corner with the ceiling. Once near the door, the Snake scans the room before retreating to report to the Twin.

Giri looks at the woman as they trek through the snows and recoils a bit in his mind as he yanks a bit of dried beef jerky free from the piece trapped by his teeth.

Then, he thinks about it a bit more and the thought of a warm stew begins to excite him. "Well, I think you may be on to something." he says as he tosses the remains of the slice of jerky behind him. The light, dehydrated meat stick landing on the icy snow.

His tetsubo's protections have bolstered his confidence as he feels both protected by the magical armor and strengthened by the extra fortitude.

Giri uses Mage Armor on cooldown after gaining his spells, which gives him protection all day (well, twelve hours). He also starts every day by casting False Life from the tetsubo.

He walks with Zadok up to the house and loudly hammers his fist against the wooden door. "Hello!?" he calls out. "I am a wandering traveler named Steve! Could you offer me and my friends shelter for the night?" he calls out.

Not usually found at the Lodge despite his rank amongst the Bold Striders, Trotter Flaxseed's messenger takes to the streets to find the elusive, but extremely noticeable Braugher.

The woman traverses the lanes of Cassomir with practiced ease until she spots her prey playing with a group of street children. The half-black, half-white feathered man in white robes is quite easy to spot once you've located him.

The messenger approaches calmly walking up to the man as he nods to her, a smile apparent even on the beaked man. "Greetings, Miss. Has the first squad been called up?" he asks kindly as his hand ruffles the hair of a particularly small, underfed halfling child.

"Not the squad, sir. Just you." she says in reverence as she bows her head and holds out the missive.

"Well that is quite interesting." he says as takes the scroll and breaks the Flaxseed seal on the parchment, reading the text.

"Thank you for your immediate aid, miss." he says kindly as he hands the scroll back to the halfling messenger. "Please report that I will be returning to the Lodge shortly. I have one task to complete before arriving, but I will finish it post-haste."

"Of course, Master Braugher." she replies, smiling at the child. She reaches into her waist pouch and produces a silver piece, giving it to the girl. "Be good, little one." she says as the child looks on in amazement, squeaking out an extremely quiet thanks.

As the child is enraptured by the coin, the halfling messenger disappears into the shadows and Braugher wrangles the children. "Alright, children!" he says as he hoists a younger half-orc child onto his shoulders. "Shall we get some iced cream?" he asks cheerfully.

A chorus of children's voices echo throughout the lane as they eagerly follow the tengu man.

---

Finding that he is the first to arrive, Braugher places a cup of iced chocolate cream, replete with tiny wooden spoon, onto Trotter's mahogany desk.

In his own hand, Braugher samples from a mixture of Mwangi Mint Leaf and Galtan Pistachio, thoroughly enjoying the pairing as he tries to scoop each flavor onto the tiny spoon simultaneously.

"I wonder who else was called and for what I have been summoned." he wonders aloud, seeing no reason to keep his inner monologue quiet in an empty room.

The Twin looks at Cats, the man with two rats impaled on his blade, and experiences a jarring memory of a time long forgotten.

People and places are naught but vague echoes in his mind, but the smell of roasting meat over the sandy fire pit makes the half elf's mouth salivate. "Perhaps we should roast those rats you've skewered with your blade, Cats."

"They are conveniently already prepared after all." he adds. "And we could rest after the meal."

The threat of the zoog is clearly the farthest thing from the Twin's mind.

The Twin listens to the bloviating man with dispassion showing on his face. He seems to take time to listen to Brother Butterfly as he moves about the room, finding a chain shirt in the room and pulling it over his head.

As the tiny links chink down over the stained white tunic, the Twin opens his mouth for a second as if to speak but he closes it without uttering a syllable. As he moves through the varied stuff on the floor, the harrow card-composed snake slithers around behind him, coiling up whenever the half elf stops to pick through the mounds of stuff.

As the shaved stock card tongue flicks out of the snake-creature's mouth, its head perks up and it burrows through the pile and comes out with a leather pouch.

GM:
Would this be where I can procure a Harrow Deck?

The snakes pushes it into The Twin's hand as the man looks happily, unclasping the leather thong that binds it. "What did you find, Mister Snake?"

Opening the pouch, he pulls out a brace of five weighted daggers. "Hmm... these will be useful."

He straps the brace to his chest, over the chain shirt, before looking directly at Brother Butterfly. "You have said your piece and I am still here. We have a similar goal for now." he says, the ravens illustrated onto his hand seemingly dancing across his flesh.

"However, I don't listen to your goddess or follow your strictures. Campre has gleefully taken pleasure in harming me over and over and I promised him his death in return." he says, still lacking in emotion. "I will offer you his life in exchange for a favor in the future." he says as the large, but nearly weightless snake slithers up over the shoulder of the Twin, resting its head.

"Do you have any magicks to help with this plan?" Torgan asks, not quite understanding how an elf runs out of such weird elf things. "How about you send a mighty gust of wind to knock the tower over?" he states, remembering that magic from his grandfather's tales of the dwarf and elf wars.

"Or perhaps you can turn the ground into sand and cause the entire tower to topple? Maybe send the giant to another plane of existence? Perhaps the fire one. I bet that is an ice giant's worst nightmare." Torgan proposes.

"You could petrify him like a basilisk or perhaps you can summon a basilisk to petrify him."

"Maybe you can turn him into a newt?"

"Drain his entire body of life force, rendering him a burnt out husk?"

"Any of these work for you?" he asks with eager eyes, expecting greatness from the Prophet.

Fort-Torgan | DC 15: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Fort-Malt | DC 15: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 That's about right. Fatigued, right?

Torgan lays completely flat on the howdah that he crafted during their time at the Dwarven Forge. "Unnnnnh... It's so hard to breathe..." he moans as Malt wheezes and moos weakly, lugging the little dwarf around with the rest of the party.

"Whatever you lot decide." he says, weakly raising his hand from the wood. His eyes are closed and he doesn't even deign to look at you.

He idly reaches for his mug of winter ale, but the iron-wrought container is just out of his reach. Torgan's head lolls to the side and his eyes wearily open and he stares death's daggers at the cup, but he can't seem to reach mug.

Sighing in defeat, he merely lets his arm fall limply back to the platform.

Torgan looks around the room with a bit of disgust. "Kraygan, this looks like the barn after one of your three day celebrations for a new release of beer!" he adds jovially.

"Hey! Giants! This is the Dwarven Forge now! You got two seconds to get your fat asses out!" he bellows to the evictees.

If you can't tell, I talk about wine on my phone a lot... 'Supertuscan' should have been 'Speak to'.

The dwarf tumbles to the ground as the hammer of lore begins to thrum and pulse as the flames erupt from the long-dead furnace in a quick blaze that slams into Torgan and Agrimmosh.

The blonde dwarf's hair erupts in flames as his mustache and beard return, thrust from his face by the fiery magic. The bright orange and red locks stand in stark contrast with the wornout green of his tunic, but the unconscious dwarf is still unaware of the change.

Agrimmosh begins to glow a bright red as the rest of the flames wreath the hammer and the sigils on the steel pierce the darkness of the forge.

After a moment, the flames die down and no flame is left in the forge as well, but Torgan's hair remains a bright, fiery orange.

Gasp!

The unconscious dwarf sits up in a fright. His eyes are wide and you can see that his brown eyes have turned orange. "I have seen the future for us!" he says, uncharacteristically without his heavy accent. "If we light the forge, then we will rule of the Minderhal and its domain. The Flaming Beard's rampage will be stopped by an equally stout fire: The Dwarvish Forge." he prophesies with wide-eyed abandon.

"I, the chosen of the forge, will lead us to glory with its power!" he proclaims as he raises Agrimmosh high and the hammer pulses, sending a blast of arcane magic through the cave as all of the dwarves grow to twice their size. Wren and Rogzul begin to feel their own frames growing as the magic sweeps through the room.

Heightened mass enlarge person on the party - DC 23 Fort to resist if you want.

"Let us reignite the power of the forge and deliver our own fiery vengeance to the giants!" he bellows, fully comprehending the power of the two artifacts that lay before him.

"You! Slag giantess!" he bellows to Etena, Agrimmosh pointed directly at her. "Will you swear your loyalty to us if we reignite the forge as we will be the Keepers of the Forge?" he asks sternly.
