I am changing how the mark works. Instead of the Mark of the Black Rider, it is the mark of Baba Yaga. I used the character's backstories to insert an event where they were saved or helped by Baba Yaga (in disguise of course). During this event she marked each one. It remained dormant until the beginning of the campaign.

Once the PCs start meeting in Heldren, it starts to manifest. As the PCs meet, they had a prickly feeling on the back of their heads and followed by "snapping sound."

First, each PCs gets a modified "Know Direction." Basically, it gives each PC the ability to know the direction of each others once per day.

Once they meet the Black Rider, the +2 to an ability and Geas go into effect along with a arcane mark.

Later, I was going to let them teleport back to the Hut once per week as a group.

I placed order 3885417 for a Free booster of pathfinder minis from Humble Bundle on March 3rd. I request this be combined with Order 3862109, that I placed on 2/28/16. I have received the Pawns from Order 3862109, but not the booster from Order 3885417.

You may want to check out the Player Companion Black Markets. It has rules for creating black markets and a few examples. One in particular is run by a Green Hag and fey creatures. It would not be hard to drop a portal door in the hut to one or more of these places. It would make buying and selling times much easier.

I have 11th level Draconic Blooded Sorcerer. If I don the Robe of Arcane Heritage, do I get to change the spell on my Enhanced Magical Tattoo? I will get the Level 15 bloodline power, Wings.

Enhanced Magical Tattoo (Su)

Whenever she gains a bloodline power at a later date, she may change this spell-like ability to another qualifying spell.

Robe Wording wrote:
The wearer treats her sorcerer level as 4 higher than normal for the purpose of determining what bloodline powers she can use and their effects.

Does this mean I can remove and add the robe each level to reset this spell?

After reading the Unchained Magic rules, I was struck by an idea for using them in RoW. As other threads have complained, the PCs do not have a lot of places to buy/sell treasure. By adding a few character specific Scaling items, you can reduce this need. I figure either when they get the mantle or release the Hut, they can be gift with these items.

That said, it would mean reducing the treasure for the rest of the AP by half or so. Any thoughts? Ideas?

For those that did not get Unchained, a Scaling item is worth 30%, 15% or 5% of a character's WBL. Rather than needing to be replaced, it increases in power each time a character levels.

Class Brawler Snakebite Striker (Archetype)
Human
20 pt Buy
Abilities: Str 18, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 8, Wis 10, Cha 12

Feats:
Level 1: Combat Expertise, Improved Unarmed Strike, Weapon Focus (unarmed)
Level 2: Jabbing Style *(drop at 8th)
Level 3: Improved Feint
Level 5: Weapon Specialization (unarmed), Improved Dirty Trick
Level 7: Quick Dirty Trick
Level 8: Greater Dirty Trick
Level 9: Critical Focus
Level 11: Bleeding Critical, Sneaking Precision (add Bleeding critical to 2nd sneak attack)

Items:
Greater Magic Fang Permancy - 7500gp (+2 attack and damage)
Amulet of mighty fist +1 (Keen) - 5000gp

11th level attacks:
+19/+14/+9 1d10+9 or 17/17/12/12/7 1d10+9; (+3d6 sneak attack)

I can replace first attack with a +20 CMB to do a blinding Dirty Trick. Then I can sneak attack with the rest of the attacks regardless of flanking. This can do 125 average damage if I hit with all five attacks or 100, if I do dirty trick.

I was going to drop Jabbing Style since the max +2d6 damage does not scale well and the other feats are too feat intensify. I am not sure what to replace it with.

With the new technology guide and a little inspiration from Traveller, I was thinking of running the Kingmaker in space.

The party would be part of a colonization mission to the planet Brevoy. When they arrive at the Planet, the ship is hit by a comet or meteor and the party "crashes" in the Stolen Lands. Thus starting part I.

In part II, a follow-up supply ship is contacted and provides the initial BP for the colony along with some settlers.

In part III, IV and V, the rival 'kingdoms' will be other survivors from the colony ship the party arrived on. They founded their own settlements.

The Nyrissa and the fey will be the intelligent life inhabiting the planet before the party arrived and thus the opposition to the newcomers.

I was going to keep magic and instead of divine or arcane, have it fueled by nanites or some other super-high tech.

Anyone else try some thing like this? Any good ideas? Thoughts?

Any chance you will publish the fiction from the APs (ie Eando Kline journal, etc), in an ePub version? It is some good stuff, but it would be nice to get it without paying for each issue of all the APs.

I had a couple PCs write up some interesting backgrounds, but there where no good traits to really sync up with what the had written.

I really like how the trait system works and rewards the PCs for thier background choices. So, I can up with two new traits. I figured I would post them so others could use them:

University Educated: While you lack formal experience in the field, you have spend numerous years studying in dark libraries and small classrooms.

Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus to Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (geography) checks. In addition, one of these skills (your choice) is always a class skill for you.

Uncouth: You have not washed in years. While this does not engender you to others, you have been exposed to numerous germs and diseases.

Benefit: You get +1 to Fortitude saves.

The PCs can now choose to ally with one of five rival factions from the Aspis Consortium, the Shackles Pirates, the Pathfinder Society, the Red Mantis or the Sargavan Government.

This is one aspect of the AP that I really like. Too often it is the PCs versus 1 BBG or a Horde of Monsters. Now you have several diverse factions competing for the same goal as the PCs. I am interest to see what factions your PCs join and how you plan to use them in your Campaign.

The Serpent's Skull AP includes the PC interactions with several Organizations (Aspis Consortium, Pathfinder's, Red Mantis, etc). What is considered common knowledge about these Organizations? I know many of these are considered secret organizations (akin to the Illuminati).

For instance, one of the character's in the upcoming campaign wants to take the "Get the Cargo Through" trait. I was thinking of having the cargo be from the Aspis. Would he know who hired him?

Thanks in advanced,

-Pete

These all use the same basic game mechanism. You subtract x from attack and gain x to damage or defense.

Now looking at the Preview for the ranger and fighter one is level 11 (BAB +11) and one is level 14 (BAB +14). The ranger can subtract -3 from his ranged attack and add +6 to damage. The fighter can subtract -4 from his melee attack and add +8 to damage.

It seems to follow any every 4 level (or BAB) progression:

Level 1-4 -1/+2
Level 5-8 -2/+4
Level 9-12 -3/+6
Level 13-16 -4/+8
Level 17-20 -5/+10

My guess is this damage is added to the primary weapon regardless of 1 or 2 handed and the off-handed weapon is half of this. This is my theory on this mechanic. It is simple, which is what they want to keep.

Any ideas? Comments?
