Joking aside, the vast majority of the games i have run treat this topic with kid gloves. Definitly fade to black. Having only glanced through this book, it looks intresting for a 1to1 campain with my wife, but not likly to be used in a regular game.

And ,just a thought, make the bad guys truly evil and wicked. They live in a closed ecosystem of the most extrme kind that can be thought of. I would think that things like assulting other cities or neighborhoods for food, slaves, and treasure would be the norm. As well as cannablism, "kissing cousins", trading "favors", selective breeding with demons/devils/etc. Please make them evil, not just bad! P.S. The females of the drow sociaty.. sosiety.. folk are demonstrating the power, authority, and physical perfection with their lack of modesty. Just a thought! P.P.S. Sorry for the spelling

challenge a warlock w/ another warlock. Also remeber swarms of lower level minons( where's K.C.) and grapple. Of all things I hate, Grapple is number 1. Warlock is an exellent class if you have the 4 basic monster food groups and need a 5th, heal with wands, solid Cha skills, and can hang back w/ the wiz/sor.

Thank you for the replies all. Sorry to not post sooner, but my spare time is very limited(and also its a real pain to type with one hand, i smashed some fingers on the job :( ) I do believe I will do a little bit of each of your suggetions. My currnet plan is to allow the PC to profit from his wylie tatics, have the bookie run, and allow him to collect on only part of the bets. I plan on giving him an intellegent adamantine scimitar with the undead bane special quality. Being a Dervish, this will surly be cool and not totally unbalancing.
I am currently running AoW and am now at The Champion,s Belt. My pc's are not munchkins or rookies, they all play balanced PCs. Best thing to do, is to allow whatever books you please(or they can find), but you MUST use a point buy for stats. Many of the feats, skill tricks, etc. are just fine as is, BUT, the stats they use would quickly unbalance later on. The point buy will also eliminate the superhero (18, 18,17,14 blah blah) player with the super rolls and allow you to tailor the encounters for the Group, and not just Superman. All of my players use 4d6 reroll 1's. My lowest stat in the group is the Half-Orc with a Cha of 11. They have slain everything thrown against them.
I do not have the adventure before me, but i believe that the gp limit at Sandpoint may also limit their purchases. Shopping trip anyone? The need to upgrade their stuff would be a great way to have them in The Big City.
All right, here we go. I am currently running the AoWAp, we are currently at The Champion's Belt. While running this section one of my players took up the betting portion. Having just completed three 12 hour days of keg throwing, my mind and judgement were not at their best. This PC sought out the Varmint Patrol, and quickly started a fight, which he also quickly lost a purpose. His Bluff roll was a Nat20 and my Sense Motive was a Nat1. This happened at about midnight, and he then asked me what the current odds for them would be. Being rather tired, and all I threw out the number 50:1. He bet 7k gold. Any body care to make suggustions (or laugh) please go ahead.

This is just..painful. To read all the glowing posts about this fabul..fablou..great adventure. (Snarl) And not to have mine yet. GRRRR. Red feals the terrible heat of envy, its been many moons since I've held or read a good horror adventure.
every think about the warlock or wu jen from complete arcane? the beguiler and the duskblade are also great PH II.

not guite a one liner, but close. Shackled city AP, 3.0 version. Tongue eater was destroying the party(dr/10) no silverweapns no spellcaster. anyway, final two characters left standing are the hafling rogue, Fritz Goodtree and Maharis. T eater, crit. FRitz -3, Mahris Cure, repeat x3. During fight chumbawamba song comes on, I get knocked down, but i get up again.
