They replaced him with dwarven druid armed with a red and white striped great hammer. He carries his big velvet sack o' gems over his shoulder and calls upon the aid of 8 animal companions, all dire caribou.
Apparently, when you've been naughty... he just kills you... and he jams chunks of coal into your eye sockets.
