The spell Mind Games has the line "Cost 3 gp game piece focus". Is this expended each time you cast the spell, or do you need to purchase one game piece to use a focus to cast the spell each time?

Item creation only cares if the required spell is at least a certain level, not that it's an exact level. Is there a source on that? I'm not sure the rules actually specify if level is part of a spell and while that ruling passes the sniff test to me, I don't think that's exactly how crafting is worded. Also, now that SoM is out, it looks to me that Magus' indeed can't use lower level spells on a staff, and barring rulings like the above, can't cast lower level spell scrolls/wands.
What are people's ideas for the stat blocks of fellow students, should they be needed? I would have them be the same level as the PCs, and I guess just grab an appropriately scaled NPC? I've been doing solo play to get the idea of the adventure and it is a LOT of fun. The non combat rewards and the RP ideas can keep some groups occupied for a long time! |
