I saw it at the late 3D showing last night and it was a blast. It's not as action packed -- or at least not in the same way -- as some of the Marvel outings but it had good flavor, excellent acting from the majority of the cast, and the scope of the images were amazing. If you worry about God wizards in games, think about having to deal with what some of these guys are doing. Not spoiling much here, but the style that the magicians use to create spells and combat each other in many places more resembles martial characters than magicians. The trailers don't show as much of that as is in the movie; there is a great deal of hand to hand and enchanted weapon combat.

Thread created because I find the entry intriguing and I'd like to know. And I'd prefer that the thread is positive in nature. We have enough negativity on the boards. If you need a negative thread, make one yourself. :) My own answers to come as I consider this over dinner.
Recently I have seen threads closed with messages that roughly say something to the effect that "this doesn't help make the sort of community that we want to encourage here at Paizo." I can totally stand behind this message -- the world can be a pretty crappy place, why should the place that we talk about happy fun games be that way. No no problem there. However -- and it is with some trepidation I mention this -- I would encourage the staff of the game that posts to reflect on their posts. With some alarming frequency, there have been a number of posts from some members with the little golem next to their name and actual titles that are -- well, not nice. Not civil. Dismissive, aggressive, derogatory, confrontational, or just unnecessary. I understand that people are people, even if they work for the company, and that there are subjects that people feel passionate about. That said, it may be the gamer in me but I would like to think that we should all be playing by the same set of rules. If a guest can't (and shouldn't) be talking like that on the boards, I do not believe that the staff should either. Otherwise, it looks bad you know? I'm not asking for anyone to be punished or pointed out. I'm asking that staffers consider that the little flag next to their name denoting that they work for Paizo comes with some responsibility to control their temper and moderate their tone at least as well as we ask the guests here. Nothing more, nothing less. Thank you for your time.
This is a spin-off thread regarding the nature of evil, souls, and world domination. This has been brought up from Anzyr's posts regarding the character Arkalion and his grand cycle. I'll let Anzyr post, if he will, the character's idea on whether or not he is evil, neutral or good so as not to color his motives.
Posting this here instead of the thread I found it in so as not to derail. In a thread, Chris Lambertz said: Quote: Removed a post. This kind of comment is really unnecessary. While I understand that the comment was removed because it violated policy in some way, someone who did not see the comment doesn't know what was said or why it was unnecessary. It might help teach people what is unacceptable if they have a hint of what is, well, unacceptable in these cases. Something like "Talking about Blah is unnecessary" or "We don't insult others" or whatever. This way the next person knows that "Blah" isn't acceptable and hopefully will edit themselves before the mods have to. Thank you for listening.
I'd like to request a way to flag an individual rather than each post. While it's the Internet and people are likely to use sarcasm and the like as a blunt tool, having a half dozen to dozen threads with the same people yelling at the same people is getting old and interfering with the tranquility and harmony of this site. Plus it makes reading things a real pain. I'm not certain that there is a real solution to this, or that it is feasible to add this sort of function, but there needs to be something done. It's starting to look like a kindergarten class high on pixie sticks in here. Thank you for considering this. |
