Finesse feat don´t add damage, my change in improved unarmed strike do it, and would be do this feat more attractive for other class (oriental class tipe)

6 skills point are a good idea but I must change all monks charaters published

Really, I chose because it´s a menor change in rules and reduce the number or relevant attributes (equal than paladin in using CAR for spells in front of 3ª Edition using SAB)

A friend told me that the monk is a jack of all trades and master of none. This did not seem bad thing. As in any other category, depending the member of party, and the "color" of the campaign, be a jack of all can be a good thing.

However, a monk is a wrestler, you need a high strength, wear no armour, you need a high DEX; Everyone wants a high CON; skills are an important part of his repertoire, you need a high INT, extraordinary and supernatural abilities depend of wisdom, so also need high WIS

5 of 6. Less would have a wonderful character in any other category.

What comes is only tested up to level 5, I'm open to suggestions.

Change in feats

Improved Unarmed Strike: Same MDJ plus: A character can use Dexterity bonus (if any) in place of STR bonus on attack, damage rolls and maneuvers that make unarmed.

Stunning Fist: Same but MDJ and using the INT bonus instead of SAB for the Fortitude saving throw

Changes in category Monk:

A monk is proficient with all weapons with special "monk"

Obviously, he could use his DEX bonus instead of his STR when using Flurry of Blows

The monk uses her INT bonus (if any) for features:

AC Bonus
Ki Pool
Quivering Palm

Changes in weapons

All weapons with the monk descriptor: Any character can use the DEX bonus instead of STR, to attack rolls and damage if the character also has the Improved Unarmed Strike feat. You can´t use one and a half DEX bonus in monk weapons wielded with both hands under this option.

Change in the magical weapon

All weapons with focus Ki property, are considered monk weapons even if they normally are not.

A new edition involves not only new rules, the monk certainly needs a revision, are bestiarys, the master guide and supplements involving exotic categories that are not in the basic rules ...

In these version there isn´t bonus hex at 7 and 9 level. Level 5 has change.

Monks have a religious background (as the Buddhist monks) or are just special fighters? Depends on the archetype or previous history of the pj?

Hi i,m from spain and all my player are expectant for this book.

For the moment, we are using The "Bastards of Erebus" for play tiefling. By the way,in the table of Random Tiefling Features, Skin: Patterned, what is his traslation? It´s like tattoo, or as spots?


A sohei cannot use flurry blows when light wearing armour. Ins´t it?

When I read the APG, I believed that a witch has access to the common list of spells and particular list of your patron.
I assumed that a witch without the resistance patron can not use miracle.

But in the advanced player guide, I noticed that many of the spells guaranteed by a partycular patron, were already in the open list

For example: At healing patron spell list: "mass cure
critical wounds" or in enchantment patron list: dominated monster...

Are typos?

Some of the new spells as unnatural lust, appear as enchatment patron´s spell. I guess it restricted to the appropriate patron. But the spell list of chapter 5, he said only witch 2.

Are these spells available to all witches or only those with the right patron?

Can a witch learn a spell warranted by another employer?

The gunslinger can use all base deeds (those listed in the class description, not granted by feats) available to her level.

But I still lost in traslation; This time about pirate.

She lost "trapfinding" in exchange of "sea legs" at first level.
This loss is for every level, or only for this level?

I ask this because at 3º she loses again trap sense; I copy and paste:

"Unflinching (Ex): Pirates are a salty and steadfast lot. At
3rd level, a pirate gains a +1 bonus on saving throws against
fear and mind-affecting effects. This bonus increases
by +1 for every three levels, to a maximum of +6 at 18th
level. This ability replaces trap sense. This ability replaces
trapfinding"

Is it a errata or pirates only lost trapfinding at 1º and 3º level?
