Hey guys, I started tolling the idea of making a druid for an online campaign (roll20). I have never played a druid character in my 15 years of gaming, table top and MMOs). I just realized that druids have SO many choices available to them as what they can do.

The only guide I found that I can read up on druids is the treantmonks three part guide. Are there any others that are as comprehensive so I can learn more about the different archtypes, spells, animal companions and what their role within a party is?

We're level 1, 20 Point buy and 3000 gold starting. I'm a little more excited about this one as there is a point buy.

Played a new game tonight with a whole new group and DM... There was this level 3 fighter who had a +5 Large Bastard Sword with x5 shocking on it.

He claimed it could do 3D8+22+5D6... The guy could literally kill everything in 1 hit.

I thought you were not able to have multiple enchants of the same one on a weapon. I'm beginning to think my location is just horrible with these types of players. I tried Dming once but people were upset and quit when I refused to give them what they wanted and wanted to make them earn it.

Hey guys... I'm new to playing a spell caster and I made a sorcerer crossblooded and varisian tattoo... My DM told me to google it.

I understand how it works with level 1 spells but what about cantrips?

Bloodlines are: Orc and Draconic gold dragon (gold dragon because of Huma)!!!
My traits are Precocious Spellcaster and Reactionary.

Ray of Frost is 1D3. Do any of these change the spell damage or is Ray of Frost ALWAYS 1D3+0?

My reading says that it would increase its power to a level 1 spell doing 1D3+1 and then with orc bloodline it would do 1D3+2.

So! My first DM experience went over great. The guys loved the goblin character names and their songs. They were kind of overpowered so I beefed Vorak up a little.

I had one question about sneak attack... Do rogues always get sneak attack every round when flanking? I need to research it but have been told yes and no.

Well I'm DMing today and had a question. My guys like lots of encounters and I'm having them use some pregenned characters.

With the Brinestump Marsh being so close to sandpoint... Would it be bad to say have some teenagers from sandpoint exploring the marsh and maybe have the party find them? Then they could decide to attack them or sneak by the kids?

Well last night 6 out of 8 players walked out on our DM. Had a boss fight that took out everyone but 3. The other 5 were unconscious. One of the party members came up and killed 2 out of 5 stating he didn't like them and took their loot. They only reason the 7th person didn't walk is because they are related to the murderer out of game.

2 people tried to stop him but the DM told us that he gets to act first because he said he wanted to kill them. (both unconscious characters were over 50 feet apart and were killed before we could react).

Our levels are from 5 to 7 but characters are extremely overpowered. IE: sorcerer with 18/18/18/17/17/17 stats. They want to keep their characters and play them in the new campaign but I want them to make new ones at a 15 or 20 point buy... they dislike this because they don't feel "powerful" anymore.

I don't have the experience to set up a game with uber min/max characters... how do I convince them to make new ones?

I'm playing with a large group of people... roughly 6-10 on a weekly basis. We have this one person who plays his character in a way that "If his character feels you are helping him, he would like to keep you around". Kind of a selfish character who looks out for himself. Eh, who cares but it really picked a nerve with a bunch of us... but the DM doesn't really care.

Last game session this guy ran away when the group was attacked by a giant rock golem thing. The golem destroyed the group... but did not kill them (I have a feeling it was the GM padding the die that kept everyone just under 0 hp). This rogue came back and attempted to kill the whole party ... just so he can become more powerful by looting and selling the gear.

The DM thinks its hilarious and he's letting it happen.

Tonight, three of us were clearing a dungeon and he came in. He said he didn't wanna join because it was dangerous but as soon as we killed the BBEG and opened the chest, he jumped in and demanded loot. The three of us told him no, it's ours because we did the fight, he said "I'll just kill your characters off then".

I like grouping with a bunch of the people but seriously... if I get killed because of some greedy whiner, I'm probably going to stop playing. It's giving a bad taste of the game. I understand the point of the game is for everyone to have fun but it's not fun if one person kills everyone off just to get a +147998 weapon.

The three of us made it clear that it is a bad idea to do it... outside of the game... to him... but I have a feeling he'll try anyway with the knowledge of our previous gaming experiences.

How can we, the players, stop this? He's also extremely min/maxed as in... somehow having a +17 to perception as a rogue at level 6 and having 26 AC, +11/9/12 to fort/reflex/will saves...

Suggestions?

I'm making a new character for a game tomorrow since I am extremely bored with my fighter and there are 2 fighters and 2 barbarians (not including me)... I proceed to go into hero lab and start working on a witch.

It was 4D6 drop lowest die and roll 6 times... I came up with the following screenshot. I really wish I could just say screw it and use these but I know my luck is never this good when it goes to creating characters!

Would your DM actually let you use these stats? It was the first time I ever rolled 2 18's in one sitting.

Anything different I can do? I'm not that good with spellcasters. This is my first time

Traits:
Forlorn (+1 fort)
Reactionary (+2 Initiative)

Hey guys...

I had an Antipaladin but it got 1 shotted at level 4... I don't want to die as fast!

I got this fighter with an archetype Two Handed Fighter and I am curious what I can do to help him.

We rolled for our stats. 4D6 drop lowest.

Level 6
Str:23
Dex:16
Con:16
INt:12
Wis:16
Cha:14

My Feats are:
Furious Focus
Greater Sunder
Improved Sunder
Iron Will
Power Attack -2/+4
Exotic weapon proficiency: Bastard Sword
Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword
Weapon Specialization: Bastard Sword

Traits:
Indomitable Faith (+1 will)
Reactionary (+2 initiative)

Equipment:

+1 bastard Sword (L) -- 2D8+13
Longsword -- 1D8+6
Heavy wooden Shield -- +2 AC
+1 Full plate -- 10AC
+2 Strength Belt (since I showed up and no one else did)

I hear Furious Focus sucks and I should take cleave instead... But from what I read, cleave can only hit once and I have two attacks now...

Suggestions? I am using Hero Lab to create so I took some time and read a bunch of my feats. I was going to be using him today but the group DM is sick.

I'm not making a mistake running this as my first ever DM am I? I only have a few games under my belt... roughly 10-20 but there are never any DMs.

I know I'll be reading these forums for tips!

Couple questions... I'm playing a group that has some weird "house rules"

There's huge cheating in the game and it's becoming not very fun... I mean, characters at level 5 who have 25+ in a skill, able to cast level 5 spells at level 5... a raging level 5 barbarian doing 6D6+weapon damage+ strength modifier, Someone who "sits" outside the fight and constantly feeds people potions to heal them whenever they take damage...

I don't really care if my character dies... yes, I like him and yes my fighter does some pretty great damage... but when you roll an attack... miss and lie about the die number because you're "raging" and want to hit. And being level 5 with a vicious weapon....

It is impossible to find games around where I live and this one has so much "cheating" it's not fun.

Sure, its fun bashing everything for 283502839 damage at 4-6 level and 1 shotting anything... but yeah. It's not an experience fun.

The DM says he'll let "anything" go in his campaigns. Suggestions?
