It's much appreciated. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, so I'm afraid I must drop due to time constraints. Best of luck with the rest of the campaign all! ![]()
![]() Hi all. I'm really sorry for the radio silence. I had an accident which left me bed bound and unable to use computers for a while. I hope to find time for PbP again soon but as I don't have a lot of time right now (catching up on life after unexpected time away) and I see that I've missed quite a few (almost 80!) game posts feel free to recruit a replacement for Oriaella. ![]()

![]() Hi all, seasons greetings! I'm afraid the season has been more demanding of my time than I anticipated and I don't have a character ready yet, nor will they be ready by Friday. I don't want to hold everyone up though, so if you want to get started on Friday with 5 then no hard feelings from me. Otherwise I should have something put together by Sunday. My plan is to go Inquisitor. I like the idea of a Taldan (unbearded or very minor noble) who longs for the glory days of Taldor and is disgusted by the deeds of the modern day nobility - they should be leading by shining example, but sadly that hasn't been true for generations (please correct me if I have my lore wrong). I'd probably go Iomadae, Erastil or possibly even Abadar for deity. Haven't played much in Golarion but I think those deities would fit the bill. ![]()
![]() I'm quite enamoured with the idea of an Ulfen Magus, channelling arcane power through his rune-encrusted blade... @GM ShadowLord, I'm curious to hear how you'd rule on Inspired Rage and spell casting? Inspired Rage states: "While under the effects of inspired rage, allies other than the skald cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration." Does that rule out spell casting? Is that simply spells which require concentration i.e. maintaining a spell with a duration that would require concentration checks if hit? ![]()
![]() Thanks for the input @Cheburn and @TomG. As we've got the core roles covered and I'm very much into spell casters I'm currently thinking up concepts for divine caster classes I haven't played: Oracle (Varisian(?) Seer or Ulfen Stargazer), a Shaman (Ulfen Overseer), a Druid (Ulfen Druid of Desna?). I'm hoping to spend some time building characters tomorrow, but we've got a lot going on with the festive season. ![]()
![]() Some fun classes in the mix! Investigator, Fighter, Skald, Cleric and Sorcerer. That fills the 4 core roles well too. We have a fair amount of magic (3 arcane, 1 divine). I was expecting that everyone else's character choices would make mine easier, but that doesn't appear to have happened -- anyone have any thoughts on what roles would benefit the party? ![]()

I'm currently a Hero Lab user for Pathfinder but I want to check out PCGen before I pay to unlock any more books, especially as I can also use that for my Starfinder characters. ![]()

Oh, I am stupid. Thanks for this! The second set with corrected STR and WIS and a swap of CHR<->DEX would actually be a decent Rogue array. Str: 14 - 1d6 ⇒ 14 - (3) = 11
As above it will take me a couple of days, but I'll work on a Human Rogue (Unchained) 2 with those stats. ![]()
![]() I'd be interested in playing a skill monkey Unchained Rogue. Thinking of a rogueish mercenary who lives by a code (LN) that puts his life at the top of his priority list, followed by profit. Friends and relations come after that. He likes to get up close and personal with his short blades and is skilled in the standard Rogueish talents. Str: 10 - 1d6 ⇒ 10 - (5) = 5
What utter garbage... a 2nd attempt Str: 10 - 1d6 ⇒ 10 - (3) = 7
Not awesome for a Rogue either... interesting. Maybe I'd be better with a less MAD class, perhaps a Witch? Or an Unchained Summoner? I won't have time to create a character for a couple of days (have an in-person game to run) but once my character is created I'd be available to post regularly. ![]()
![]() Bethamy is supposed to be a scholar-ambassador too, though the dice/RNG don't seem to be on my side and his abilities can only improve the results a little. I'm definitely looking at Psychic for a future character, Telempathic Projection is great! :-) Sadly you shouldn't expect much from Bethamy in any combat either, let's just hope his dice rolls improve... ![]()
![]() I'd really appreciate a chance to play! Answering your application questions with my initial ideas for a Druid. Party role: a casting focused Druid utilising their powers to support the party and destroy its foes (inspired by the Fury Druid theme in the Pathfinder Strategy Guide). Concept: As a young adult they travelled to Crystalhurst with their mentor with the intention of helping research a cure for the Darkblight. Unfortunately their small group of travellers was discovered by Ironfang Legion scouts and mercilessly set upon in the night for sport - all the other members of their group, including their mentor, were killed. They barely escaped under the protection of their mentor's animal companion (Ironfang Survivor trait). Since then they have primarily resided in Crystalhurst. Their studies turned from curing the Darkblight to the harnessing the fury of nature and they are always amongst the first to volunteer when Crystalhurst sends allies to aid the Nirmathi. Experience: I've been playing RPGs for 20+ years but I'm new to PbP (~10 posts in to a PFS campaign on these boards). I've only been playing d20 systems (Pathfinder and 5e D&D) for around 5 of those years and primarily GMing homebrew campaigns. I consider myself a Pathfinder novice player, my only characters have been CRB & APG only, hence I'm using the strategy guide to influence my build. I absolutely love the Pathfinder campaign setting and would enjoy any opportunity to experience more of it. |
