Mohag is a Clr1, so he mostly heals and buffs.
His Bit of Luck ability is useful on a combatant or skillmonkey.
And with Inspired and Inexplicable Luck, he can hit a high-DC skill check 1/day.
Will probably rebuild him after this, but I think he'll be an asset.

I understand we need to move things along, but talking to a portrait of the Earl feels risky. Is there a psychic connection? Will the Earl now know who we are and what we are doing?
Mohag doesn't know enough about such things to be certain, but he's at least concerned about the possibility.

I love Take 10 and am often surprised at how many GMs think the "Adverse consequence for failure" clause is for Take 10 (it's for Take 20).
Mohag can almost auto-succeed at one skill check per day (using Inspired and Inexplicable Luck) so if we think this is the time, he'll do that. Normally Diplomacy is his best skill of those required here, but since that check has been attempted, he can try Bluff if nobody else has a better option.
He also has Bit of Luck to help others succeed at their skill checks, but the short duration means I think it doesn't work for social interaction.
But unfortunately not in this case!
For the future if you try influencing people please roll to gain successes.
But your second try should autosucceed!

The next two weeks are going to be nuts with preparation for finals and administration and grading of final exams.
FYI, as a sort of scholar-ambassador, Arrius is pretty good at knowledge checks and social interactions, but don't expect much from him when it comes to non-underwater combat :)
Bethamy is supposed to be a scholar-ambassador too, though the dice/RNG don't seem to be on my side and his abilities can only improve the results a little. I'm definitely looking at Psychic for a future character, Telempathic Projection is great! :-)
Sadly you shouldn't expect much from Bethamy in any combat either, let's just hope his dice rolls improve...

He is supposed to be sneaky, lol and good at throwing things.
I'm worried there's a glitch in the dice roller--that would be an incredible span of luck for Arrius, with three natural 20s. I'm going to test out a few rolls here.
