I'm mostly interested in archery rangers, although TWF Rangers are interesting too (I guess the TWF tree and maybe Power Attack). Otherwise, how do they keep up with Rogue, Fighter, smiting Paladin, etc? My third level human ranger switch hitter has turned out to be quite a good damage dealer. He normaly does better then the the other characters(barbarian, oracle, cleric and magus). His main stats are str. 18, dex 14 and con. 15 and weapons are +1 falchion and a might composite longbow. Feats are power attack, cleave, rapid shot and deadly aim. I normaly start a battle with two shots from the bow (rapid shot) + 3 to hit 1d8+4 damage each arrow (without favored ememy bonuses). Then when he gets up close and personal one swing from the falchion using Power attack is +7 to hit 2d4+10 damage (without favored enemy bonuses)and another if there is an adjacent foe. And dont forget Crit. range for a falchion is 18-20(yay)!!! Once I can I will take manyshot and improved crit(15-20 crit range double yay). ![]()
![]() My character is a wizard in a campaign that is heavy on undead and and evil outsiders. I'm in 10th level just about to hit 11th. I was discussing with my dm if I could attempt to create my own spell that would be helpful against undead. my first thought was a spell that would take away undeads immunity to critical hits. My party tanks crit quite a bit. Would this be a feasible spell. What level do you think this would fall into? ![]()
![]() I'm currently playing a Goliath(dm allowed some different races in this campaign) barbarian with a great axe....he is a great BSF. My int. Is a 7. I'm used to playing sorcerers wizards and clerics and I'm not sure how this one should be played. Any suggestions or is there a chart that shows what each ability score could be compared to? ![]()

I dumped the stats because I normally play the sorcerer paladin or rouge type that is the spokesman of the party. Me and the DM are trying to get some of the newbies more involved with roleplaying, so I agreed to take a backseat. ![]()
![]() it's been a long time since I played a melee class in any roleplaying game. I went with a barbarian with a greataxe too bring the pain. My group is all in 6th level and close to 7th. I concentrated on strength and con at the expense of all the other stats(negative bonuses in each). we are starting to go against more powerful enemies and I'm really worried about getting charmed and killing my whole group. what should I do to help stop this... Any good items or feats that fit the bill? thanks in advance |
