Spell warrior skald. It lets you get to the DR penetrating points of weapon enchantments on demand as well as offering a host of useful situational upgrades. I personally find it the most powerful buffer simply for the DR penetration alone, but the versatility of the enchantments you can give and the fact that the people benefiting get rage powers without any of rages normal restrictions or drawbacks just cements it.
BLOODY DICE FOR OUR BLOODY CRUSADE!:
1: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 4) = 15=>11 2: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 5) = 131 reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 4=>13 3: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 1) = 11=>10 4: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 1) = 92 reroll: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5=>10 5: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 6) = 131 reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 6=>16 6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 6) = 181 reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 4=>17 11, 13, 10, 10, 16, 17 Hmm. 27PB equivalent but not very versatile at all, Probably a caster of some sort. Or I could dump those low stats into mental and go all in on the beatstick life. Since we're embracing RNGesus with the stats lets do it with playstyle as well. I could go for anything really. 1=Beatstick
Roll for my role: 1d4 ⇒ 1=> Ready to get some skulls crackin? What screams "ORC BEATSTICK" more than the good'ol barbarian with an Butchering ax? A vital striking barbarian/Titan fighter 1 with that ax is a terrifying thing to behold, ESPECIALLY with furious finish. Yep, yep.
Well if this doesn't sound interesting. I think something that'd be fun to roleplay would be an average guy, the kind that isn't capable of killing people. He wakes up and just finds that he's completely immortal. Tarasque regeneration levels with the whole slew of immunities. No real way of killing folks, just an average guy that cant die. I can just see, the whole group is standing in front of the Ruler, crazy lookin, cool characters. Then there's me, just standing in the middle of all the craziness. The Ruler asks "An what's his deal." and my character just shrugs and says "Well I can't die it seems." The Ruler asks "Well can you show me?" to which I respond "Hell no... Bloody hurts." So yeah, level 1 Immortal commoner. Sounds fun too me.
Why is this idea such a turn off? It's fully within the GM's control, so I'm not going to be doing anything out of the ordinary less the GM wants it to happen and even then if it's egregious I can always refuse. This isn't me asking too be allowed to play an evil character. This is me asking to play a hostage, to play a plot point if you will.
I'd have thought that the idea of a party member being essentially held hostage by a long time enemy of the entire world would be interesting. I don't think that turning on the party mid combat would be something the tyrant would want from me anyways, it would most definitly be a long con. Potentially even outside the scope of the game.
I was thinking of the later option, though likely doing it through PM's since my actions towards keeping the tyrant from killing me could drive plot points pretty well. I think a Kitsune Mesmerist would be a good fit for this concept. Vastly capable of espionage from early levels and if I keep my foxhood a secret I can use that identity for my "Please tyrant don't hurt me" work, and my human form for "Lastwall please trust me" work. DOUBLE AGENT!
PLAYERS GUIDE FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT!
Also, I am interested. Character:
Gregory Tiller, the phantom thief.
He's come to town not too rob the people of their riches, but to steal the heart of the girl he once yearned for, Veronica Nym'uk, half orc daughter of the half orc cobbler Krom Nym'uk. Krom disliked Gregory for many reasons, his closeness with veronica, his family's easy lifestyle and most of all, his cowardice. For before his family was whisked away on the whims of a wealthy uncle as he fell sick without an heir, Gregory was a cowerdly child. Running from bully's, refusing to kill animals while he hunted with his father, the works really. This reputation was fin with Greg though, because every time he ran crying from a bully, veronica would be there. Everytime he came home from a compulsory hunting trip, she would be there to cheer him up. So, ripped from the company of his best friend and childhood crush he, devoted himself to becoming the perfect gentlemen. Dashing, kind, intelligent and utterly devoted to good. All in order to impress his love when they finally meet again. That day, Gregory knew, was here as his horse trotted towards his childhood hometown Gregory is slender and short with just a little muscle, he wears thin glasses that he has slight trouble seeing without as well as relatively fine looking studded leather. He carry's a short sword on his back and sap at his waist along with a dagger he keeps up his sleeve "Just in case". Aside from the obvious he has a small burn scar on his left shoulder from an unfortunate night of sleepy study by a candle, he was lucky to escape with something so concealable. His only hope is too finally meet the woman he loved, he is however, unsure of her current appearance other than "Beautiful half orc girl". He'll just have to ask around. About me:
About myself now! I am and EST Kinda guy. Most posting will be done late at night due to work (Though my employment situation may be changing soon as to make my posting time Evening, rather than Night)
While I'm not new to PBP, all the games I've been in have fizzled due to either GM life problems, GM abandonment or lack of player interest. Sad really. I like putting aliases together, so I'll probably do so for Gregory soon. I'll be checking in!
Versatile design could help I think. Make a Kukri a close weapon and go to town with it.
How do you feel about this alteration to the drake archatypes? After spending a lot of time trying to get a build that can at least do SOMETHING at low levels I figured I should ask... because I failed. Earliest I could get anything worth talking about going was 7th level.
Well, the best AOO build I can think of is a mounted half-elf reach hunter, using teamwork feats and high crit ranges to get upwards of 12 AOO's out of one AOO. All this combined with the fact that hunter has access to a bunch of stuff that boosts AOO's (Like paired oppurtunist, snake animal focus and outflank+pack flanking) means that most of those attacks will be hitting at around +25.
Anamanaguchi and Slime girl. Really relaxing artists with plenty of content to listen too.
Saldiven wrote: Undead Lord could be so awesome if the Corpse Companion were fleshed out to work something akin to an Animal Companion. As it stands, the rules for making one are too vague and undefined. Played a undead lord in my first ever pathfinder game, It did not end well. Necromancers are already a bundle of kinda confusing rules, and the corps companion is a trap option if I ever saw one.
