So the eidolon can take this evolution. It states that when you hit with two claws you get to do extra damage equal to a claw's worth plus 1.5 strength mod.

My question is does this ability only apply to the first two claws to hit or does it apply to ever pair of claws that hits in a single attack?

Say I have an eidolon that has 4 claws, and all 4 claws hit. Do I get two rend bonuses or just one?

I tend to lean towards getting just one bonus per attack action. However, I can see the other side of it too.

EDIT: Posting this again because the first time I made the thread the board malfunctioned or something and it didn't post the thread correctly as you can't see my post.

I've noticed it this last week. The site is really slow to load, especially the message boards. Sometimes I'll submit a message and wait for an entire minute for it to be finished and load the next page. Right now it is loading fine. But 20 minutes ago it was dead slow. Some days I get an error message saying that the site is down. Am I the only one having this problem?

I want to try it out but honest to god I can't think of a good idea to make it work. First thing that comes to mind is to make is a grapple machine enhanced with evolutions such as: Grab, Constrict, Swallow Whole, etc... But that is all CMB based and the serpentine's strength is only a 12 base. So it's bonus is going to be mediocre to poor until like 8th level when you can make it large, then it would be about average-decent by then. As opposed to a Biped base form who could do the same thing and be much more effective at it.

Anyways, anybody got any bright idea on what to do with this base form?

EDIT: I forgot, it would only work on creatures who are smaller than itself. So definetley would be ineffective at low levels.

What exactly does this do? Rulebook only explains part of it.

Quote:

As a standard action, taken during your move or as part of a charge, you can attempt to overrun your target, moving through its square. You can only overrun an opponent who is no more than one size category larger than you. If you do not have the Improved Overrun feat, or a similar ability, initiating an overrun provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. If your overrun attempt fails, you stop in the space directly in front of the opponent, or the nearest open space in front of the creature if there are other creatures occupying that space.

When you attempt to overrun a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack. If your target does not avoid you, make a combat maneuver check as normal. If your maneuver is successful, you move through the target's space. If your attack exceeds your opponent's CMD by 5 or more, you move through the target's space and the target is knocked prone. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has.

So if you exceed 5+ you knock the target prone. What happens when you succeed on the check but not by more than 5? You just move past them? Seems unnecessary as you can just make an acrobatics check and not get the AO and keep a feat as well.

Was just working on writing up my first summoner. Got my Eidolon almost finished, just needs a little bit of tweaking. His AC is 27 without any buffs. I figure to put shield, Barkskin, and Mage armor on him to raise it. But Mage armor is an armor bonus, and the Eidolon already gets a +8 armor bonus from the table. So can it stack or not? I've seen many other people adding it in their, but it seems to me that it shouldn't be. Perhaps that was before the final playtest?

So this is just to verify that I have the math right for how to calculate the loot for the party, as this is the first time that I will have to do it.

As I understand it, when you sell items you get half price unless they are magic then you get 80%.

Here is an example: Masterwork Crossbow
2035 gp total, as the masterwork makes it a +1 bonus i believe

Another example: +1 holy cold iron long sword
18,020 gp, total enhancement +3, didn't include cold iron, i have no idea if that effects the price or not.

Anyways, I have no idea if this is right or not, which is why i want it to be checked before i calculate everything. Definitely, wouldn't want to short change our party!

Just need a little clarification on this spell. Here it says that if you aren't directing the sword it will return to you.

Quote:
If the sword goes beyond the spell range from you, goes out of your sight, or you are not directing it, it returns to you and hovers.
And here it says that if you don't designate (direct) a new target it will continue to attack the previous one.
Quote:
Each round after the first, you can use a standard action to switch the sword to a new target. If you do not, the sword continues to attack the previous round's target.

These two things seem to contradict each other. So what my question is that if i cast this spell and designate a target that would count as my action for that round. But next round if i don't designate a new target, would I be able to cast another spell or do whatever and have the sword still take its attack?

Thanks for the help
