Flashing Less Skin Then Jesus.

5/5

It's a great, well written and beautifully illustrated book with impeccable editing, though I am disappointed that there isn't as much skin as previous reviews led me to believe. Still, despite being less sexualized than certain other publications I'm incredibly impressed with all the hard work and love that everyone put into this book.

And at least there's an equal amount of beefcake (Kurgess and Grusathatha (sp?) I'm looking at you!) to balance the deities out.

I'm very impressed with the player options, especially more spells and all the deities included in the table at the back of the book.

I'd give it ten stars if they'd let me.

Exactly what I needed!

5/5

As someone that has struggled making characters without a character sheet these are a god send! Yes, the fighter sheet is a bit wonky and I have to make photocopies but the amount of time saved make this more than worth the money for me.

Awesome Book! Ten Stars!!

5/5

I absolutely love almost everything about this book, thank you for the new classes!

Every class will inspire countless character ideas, and I especially love that the symbol for the Vanguard class is a fist comet flying through space.

The only part I personally didn't care for (and I absolutely accept is a matter of personal taste) is the alternate racial ability adjustments, but that's just me.

I love the artwork (especially the three new iconic characters).

I wish they had a few more spells but I understand they were crunched for time and Hillary Moon Murphy actually covers that ground in the psychic magic article in Hive of Minds so no worries.

I'd give the book ten stars if I could!... Oh, what the heck, I'll just put some extra star stickers on my copy!

Ten stars! All hail the Fist Comet!!

Awesome!

5/5

I love it!

It's fun, easy to run with an interesting backstory, I can't wait for part two!

My only complaint is the toolbox seems a bit disorganized, but I'm sure Paizo is working on that as they've never shied away from evolving the Adventure Path line.

I'd pay top dollar for whatever product that has the Anadi ancestry.

Not sure how having sympathetic goblins equates to SJW status, whatever that means.

At any rate, anything to stick it to D&D 5th edition!

I see dead people!

5/5

I love the beginning, but definitely could have used more of the Boneyard. I thought the addition of some of the creatures would have caused dissonance with the group but they loved it!

My one complaint about the adventure is it had too many puzzles, those were not fun but with a bit of nose leading and hand waving we were able to make it through without too much frustration.

I love the Boneyard toolbox, especially the archetypes.

The Half Dead article was spot on, even though it was for races we almost never play as.

To Exceed Their Grasp was a wonderful addition I wasn't expecting.

And of course, the bestiary was top notch!

Overall, I thought I was going to get a lot of grief from the players in this one but was pleasantly surprised at how much fun everyone had, kudos to Paizo!

I'm satisfied with the ending.

5/5

Overall, I rather like the adventure, the side bar on how to switch things up was very well done I thought (for the record If I run Tyrant's Grasp I will be using the side bar ending instead).

While this AP has issues in earlier installments, this one isn't among them.

The developer showcase is also really solid though I'm disappointed Mark and Thursty used their space for advice instead of something else, it's still good advice and certainly not worth knocking off a star.

I especially liked the inclusion of Iblydan hero gods, as well Angradd and Nocticula 2.0.

Something something for the stars!

The artwork alone is worth five stars.

There's also new spaceships, a new theme for every Pact World, and alien Weeble Wobbles.

Stranger Things!

5/5

Wow!

Whether you're running Strange Aeons, your own Lovecraft inspired campaign or you want to go in Stranger Things territory this is the set for you!

So, so many weird monsters and tentacles you won't know which of your party to kill or drive insane first!

The Queen's Beezneez!

5/5

I love this set, it will certainly help bring Korvosa to life, highly recommended!

The review below does a great job with the specifics, so I won't bore you with more, but if you're planning on running Curse Of The Crimson Throne this is a must have!

Get The Drift!

5/5

This book is worth the price just with the article answering all your Drift questions and the starship on the inside front and back covers.

Also there's an adventure, a cloud giant (a planet, not an actual giant), and a bunch of beasties ready to maul your player characters.

But really, all you need is the drift.

And i thought i didn't need this one!

5/5

I had thought when Bestiary 6 came out I wouldn't need it.

How wrong was I!

This book will definitely take it's place as one of the essential Pathfinder books in my collection, if you're waiting to get this, don't! Get it now!

Well done Paizo!

My one complaint is mine had the same s$$$ty yellow binding glue as the first printing of the Starfinder CRB, but I'm not dropping the rating because it is that good (also I still have binding glue leftover from my Starfinder CRB).

A great set!

5/5

Overall a great set, but I was disappointed that there wasn't new Skittermanders or any of the other new races.

With future sets it would be super cool for more variations of the playable races, like Skitttermander mechanics or Barathu Technomancers.

But, I'm not going to let my personal preferences drag down the star rating of a very good set, so good job Paizo, give yourselves a round of applause!

5/5

Yay! Shifters!! And I don't need a PhD in English to try to figure out how the f!&@ it's supposed to work.

Two plant races even! And faeries!!

I don't really get into archetypes that much anymore, but these! These look fun!!

Ever since Ultimate Intrigue I've been waiting for pathfinder to give the same treatment for the wilds, and they did not disappoint!

Great job Paizo! Keep up the great work!

Resistance Is Futile...

5/5

...All will be assimilated.

First of all, you won't find space orcs here.

But you will find a dragon, some goblins and of course, somewhere handy and tentacled to store your brain, and in the end, isn't that what's really important (I'm seriously asking).

Overall a great book with a lot of fun aliens that make great enemies or a really f!!&ed up crew for the Enterprise.
Playable races run the gamut of intelligent space jellyfish (Barathu), Contemplatives (floating brain people), Dragonkin (dragon people), Nuar (space Minotaur), Urog (silicon based mutable worm people), to space goblins, Skittermanders (Stitch) and reptoids.

While smaller then a typical Bestiary, they pack a ton of inspiration, adversaries, and imagination into those 160 pages, well worth the money, especially if you love Starfinder as much as I do.

As far as Paizo's customer service, I've been a subscriber for two years now (and a customer through my local FLGS before that) and I've had nothing but great experiences with them, even when didn't make it easy on them they handled all requests and questions with class and aplomb.

And yes, the spine is great. :-)

So, grab your lightsaber, check your tricoder batteries, make sure you have a towel and keep a wary eye on your crew (anyone could be a Cylon) because it's only gonna get better!

Shoot For The Stars

5/5

Yay!

Maiden voyage for the Starfinder Adventure Path, and boy is it fun!

I really liked the adventure itself, featuring a mix of fights, investigating, negotiating, clubbing, starship fights and asteroid spelunking, it's been a lot of fun.

There is also a fun and colorful gazetteer of Absalom Station, featuring Sutter at some of his best.

The relics of golarion was also a fun read and I clapped aloud when I saw the picture on page 53.

And lets not forget a wonderfully alien archive with both old (Akata, Skeletal Champion with a new name and a fresh look) and new faces (Driftdead, Vracinea, Rauzhant, my favs).

We also have a new planet in the codex of worlds, a delightfully little flooded world, possibly doomed to war.

And lastly, on the inside front and back covers we have the stats, background, picture, and floor plan for a new starship, I only wish there was a pawn for it somewhere... *hint hint*

Overall, a great buy and well worth the same value as the books in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting line.

I highly, highly recommend it.

Kudos to Paizo for taking a chance with Starfinder.

Now, where's my towel...

Something, something Star Wars cliche

5/5

Well, we love the set! The kids have been having starship battles on my chessex megamat since they arrived.

And they love (and I mean absolutely love) being able to find their favorite person in the book and make it their own character.

Thank you Paizo for helping to create memorable experiences.

Tammy Approved!

5/5

Full disclosure, I won this in a contest during the holidays by losing.

That said, I love this book!

While I like Mythic Adventures one area that it needed to expand on was more thematic mythic abilities, where it was more about doing something cool rather than just add some more math.

Legendary Games, I'm happy to report, has done a spectacular job expanding in that area.

With awesomely named mythic powers like Apparent Demise, Flesh Wound, Incarceration of Ancient Evil, One Step Ahead, and Ritual Return your villains or villainous characters need never have their monologue cut short in round two again!

With Paizo quality artwork and high quality American printed paper I am very, very impressed with how much the third party scene has grown over the years.

Now, if only those pesky "heroes" would stop invading Tammy's tower three days before her Doomsday device is done...

The Best Just Got Bester!

5/5

Ahoy hoy everyone!

Welcome to the officially official first review of Captain Yesterday's not so official reviews of everything and life... or is that too cumbersome... how about an acronym... The O.O.F.R.O.C.Y.N.S.O.R.O.E.A.L... that will have to do for now.

Now that I've milked how many words on that, let me say without a doubt this is one beautiful book, and hefty too! With upwards of 480 pages you really get your money's worth.

This might take awhile so I'll most likely come back and edit and update, so stay tuned!

The campaign traits - this is one of my favorite parts of the book, while there are only six traits, each one has two different options, they do an excellent job at both getting your party to really hate Gaedren Lamm, they also do an exceptional job at giving the player's a glimpse of Korvosa. So five stars!

Alright, gotta go for now! But I'll be back soon!

The Devil's in the details.

5/5

A spectacular in depth look at Cheliax, it's government, people, and creatures. Essential reading for any campaign set in Cheliax, especially the three adventure paths that take place there, the Godfather-esque Council of Thieves, the rebellious minded Hell's Rebels, or the infernal affairs of Hell's Vengeance, this is the book you need to add nuance, beasties, and depth to your campaign.

an acquired taste, but wonderful nonetheless.

5/5

First off i owe paizo and mike shel an apology, my first review was unnecessarily harsh. after my initial go through i was disappointed, however after subsequent read throughs i was quite impressed with the writing and found most of the art great (i still don't care for a couple of art but thats okay). the monsters are also quite useful and well done.
the first time i read the book of fiends 1: princes of darkness, it didn't really excite me, however as time passes it is now one of my favorite rpg books of all time, so my recommendation is if at first it's not your cup of tea, let it age and it'll grow on you. kudos to mike shell and the team at paizo, a wonderful book worth owning for any campaign or just fun to read on a rainy day.

best adventure module ever!

5/5

the local game store in my area was not participating in free rpg day so i had to wait for the pdf (i love the store so i can't complain).
i ran it for my daughter and nephews this weekend and they loved it so much the immediately wanted to play it again!. thank you richard pett and thank you paizo for this adventure.
the goblin pregen characters are all super awesome and the adventure has a perfect amount of role playing and combat.
i would give this adventure 6 stars if i could.
everyone involved should be very proud of the job they did, it will be remembered fondly for years to come on par with the original game.
