![]() When I look at the Catfolk boon it says one-time purchase. But the Hob-goblin says that it is one per player. Catfolk Ancestry Build a player character with the catfolk ancestry found in the Advanced Player's Guide. One-time purchase.
I just want to make sure before I start making an Army of Kobolds and Catfolk. ![]()
![]() I kind of disagree with this. When you have Scenarios that usually take more than 5 hours regardless of how it is played, (SFS 2-01 Pact World Warriors and PFS2 1-18 Lodge of the Living God being two perfect examples,) there should be a little leeway on the time. I have commented on Lodge of the living God before because there is no way I could have even come close to finishing that had it not been online because I have 4 hours between the start of my game and the close of the store. The idea of, "Don't join a table with random players," is absurd! That is the same as saying, "don't go to a Con." or "Don't play online" ![]()
![]() Hello, It is possible someone can give me a layman's Explanation of Magical Shorthand. I have a player who is trying to use it. I understand that it allows you to learn a spell that you do not know. But what are they roll, how much are they spending per spell? Is it the price of the spell and the price of the learn a spell fee? Can a learn multiple spells during one 8 day downtime? Can the Discount in price be carried over to Multiple spells learned? Thank you Nathan ![]()
![]() Hey Michael, We read your reply and would like to thank you. I will say that my wife is Korean and she said that if you wanted to make a weapon that was more representing a Korean, it would be the Gakgung. A Gakgung is a Traditional Korean Composite Bow, it is more of a representation of Korean weapons than a jingums. ![]()
![]() Bequeathal is a Tier 3 boon. That means a character would have to be at least level 5 to have enough Rep to transfer the Item. Creating a character to transfer a boon would be impossible. She is already Trying to level the one character the Khopesh is assigned to, to level 5 to use Bequeathal. We are just looking for a faster measure. ![]()
![]() Thank you Doug for your response. To respond to a statement, it has mattered for me at a table. The thing is, I did not question it at the table because I 'try' not to GM tables I am not the GM and I can confirm that I do not know 100% of the rules in and out. This did not really bother me until this came up in a Starfinder game and I started to think to myself on what the official rule was in Pathfinder2, so I looked up Hero Points and Fortune effect and there was no statement to indicate that you need to choose before you know the results. It could be that even though it has come up, a player will not question it at a table for fear of not fully understanding the rules or just plain respect for the GM. The problem is that Online Play is infested with the Idea that you do not get to know the results before you choose to use a Hero Point. Since it is the consensus for Organized Play Online, it would literally take a response for a Developer or an Official Organized Play Lead to change the opinions. I want things to be correct and feel that Players should not have their decision handicapped. I am not even trying to change the rule, I just want a clear answer. I believe that 10+ years of doing it one way in PF1 has bled into PF2 GM memories. This is why I am seeking an official response. Thank you ![]()
![]() Does a player get to choose to use a hero point before I know the results or after I know the results. I am really looking for a Organized Play response because nowhere in the Core does it say you are required to choose before you know the results. It does say you can re-roll a failed result, which should assume that you have to know it is failed before you choose. ![]()
![]() Michael Sayre wrote:
I think this should be explained a little better. Because the next paragraph in the Players guide makes it sound like if it is a scenario based decision then it shouldn't be warned. Otherwise, why would you present an option only to tell a player it is not an option. "Beyond GM intervention, some scenarios and written products may present evil solutions to situations. These actions will be called out within the adventure text as causes to give a character partaking in them a point of Infamy. Still, the GM is the final arbiter on what constitutes an alignment infraction and when Infamy is gained by a character at the table." ![]()
![]() This is a non-society question but could not think of a better place to put this. In clarification of awarding Experience. if a party of level 1, Is a Creature 0 at the party level or -1 the party level. Is it is at the party level, is a Creature 1, +1 the party level. It is is -1 the party level, is a Creature -1, -2 the party level. Thank you ![]()
![]() So basically what SFS Organized Play is saying is, "If you do not have full ranks in a check, you should not be attempting a roll. You should be assisting. My wife has a full rank Mechanic, and she would have to roll consistent 17+ to complete all of the 2-12 rolls. This is what happens when one class breaks a system. The writers have to adjust a Scenario, making other classes obsolete. ![]()
![]() My Wife ran this as her second GM experience. She ended up running all of the Challenges and it took us 3 hours to complete. Are all three challenges suppose to be ran? in the Summary it states that Maleeka gives up the location of the Statue after one challenge but does not state that in the actual event. Thank you ![]()
![]() 1. Being locked in the guardhouse for 30 minutes might be out of character for some players. One player in my game was playing a character who is apathetic towards loot crit failed the initial recall information. So she was set to believe that there was a ceremonial armor in the guard house. Generally in previous games she would have shrugged is she would not seen it within the first ten minutes but was locked in there for 30 minute minutes. This left a player doing nothing for to more turns as other players moved on to other buildings. 2. Thank you to the writer for scared pathfinder, there is nothing like seeing a whole game store turn around to the sudden scared yelp. (Bwu hahahahah) 3. Why are there no NPC pictures for the Venture-Captain and Lazzar? 4. Stat blocks and encounter mechanics split between 4 different pages is kind of annoying and slows down combat. I generally have to run combat off of my Laptop and an iPad in PF2E, but this was a little much. 5. Can we get non-labeled maps in the Scenarios like Starfinder. Sometimes it is easier to print an 8.5x11 map in exploration mode than lay out a large map. Placing an 8.5 map with trap markers seems a little obvious. Great game though, thank you ![]()
![]() I was checking the Core Rulebook and I was trying to find out how you can tie someone up. There are no clear rules to tying someone up, but this is what I can piece together. Using the Manacle rules, "You can manacle someone who is willing or otherwise at your mercy as an exploration activity taking 10–30 seconds depending on the creature’s size and how many manacles you apply." You can spend 10-30 seconds tying someone up as long as they are willing or restrained. Once the player is tied up, they can roll an Escape action versus the person who tied them up. "You attempt to escape from being grabbed, immobilized, or restrained. Choose one creature, object, spell effect, hazard, or other impediment imposing any of those conditions on you. Attempt a check using your unarmed attack modifier against the DC of the effect. This is typically the Athletics DC of a creature grabbing you, the Thievery DC of a creature who tied
It does not look like there is a roll to tie someone up only a roll to break free. It also looks like it can only be done outside of combat because it seems to be an Exploration Mode only action. Is this correct, did I miss something? Thank you ![]()
![]() Can you attempt a "Earn Encome" Activity after a Quest (2 days downtime) or can it only be after a Scenario or higher? Example is that I will be running PFS2E Scenario 1-1A The Sandstone Secret. Can player attempt a Earn Encome after the Quest? Addition to that, can they continue the Earn Encome activity for the 2 days downtime (basically earning twice as much). This also carries over to Scenarios, can they do the Earn Income Activity for the full 8 days (Earning 8 times as much if no other activity is performed)? Thank you ![]()
![]() I am the GM of Joe Jungers post. If the scenario would have mentioned that the gear was near the last boss she would had try to recover it before escaping on Jadnura's gunship. Would like to know if the player has a chance to recover her gear after I table ruled that the gear was lost. It would be greatly appreciate a response. ![]()
![]() !Spoilers! GM Question for other Society GMs. In Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Scenario 1-34 Heart Of The Foe: I had a player fall off of the chase vehicle and loose all of their weapons. In the next encounter the remaining players failed the diplomacy rolls with Ekkerah and therefore did not secure the Option to get the Players weapons back. I ruled at the table that they has lost all of their weapons Did I rule this right? ![]()
