This is kind of confusing; Not just in PFS Play, but in general play as well.

Core Rulebook has the following description- Antitoxin: If you drink a vial of antitoxin, you get a +5 alchemical bonus on Fortitude saving throws against poison for 1 hour.

While the description in Ultimate Equipment says this:

This substance counteracts a specific toxin. If you drink a vial of antitoxin, you gain a +5 alchemical bonus on Fortitude saving throws against poison for 1 hour.

So which one is correct? I can't find this in the FAQ so... I'm hoping that if enough people reply/ask about, the developers might add it to the FAQ in the near future. :)

I have had this come up in game before. I follow the Core rulebook reading. It gives a +5 to any poison saving throw made for 1 hour.

Endure Elements (starting at FIRST LEVEL any plots having to do with enduring the elements, ala Dark Sun style stuff or whatever, gone. Even for non-casters. 50 gp for 24 hours of nope in potion form.)

I had overlooked this spell. 24 hours of "F**@ you desert" is not going to allow me to run this Dark Sun campaign like I want to. I might have to nix thi

s spell.

But remember,at its core Dark Sun is a low magic setting. As the DM, you decide how low you go

A little toy gallows with a box of Scrabble-like wooden letters beneath it; if a PC investigates, they find themselves inextricably transfixed into playing a game of hangman; you then actually play hangman with them - if the PC wins, they get an awesome reward, and if they lose, they turn into a little wooden figurine of themselves hanging from the little gallows.
I just stole the hell out of this.

me too !

Combined with the steadfast refusal to even acknowledge the repeated requests to update old AP's it seems like every time a whole new set of classes or a whole new version of previous classes gets introduced, it creeps my previous purchases that much closer to obsolescence, reducing their collective value.
This line right here made me chuckle a little. I have everything Paizo has released for the core PF line, along with almost everything from the campaign setting and the companion books (I skip APs because I don't want to run another person's adventure.) The most used book at my table? The first Pathfinder book I bought. Core. Next most used? APG. I still value the old books as much as the new ones. I guess I just don't see new options as something that makes my old options irrelevant.

I absolutely agree with you. We have a mix of print and digital media on the table for each session. For the most part we reach for the core book first except for new spells added into classes later.

There is something to be said for 3rd party source material. Bestiarys to be sure since that is the topic but all can provide great inspiration for a home brew game. Bestiaries are great to use for the groups full of experienced, jaded players. Throw something different from another d20 supplement and they will fight it with no prior knowledge as it should be

I have a Nook but it is one of the newer HD models. It took a bit of playing with but it does a really good job with the pathfinder pdfs as well as other things such as the pathfinder ogc sites. It also has a bigger screen than the nexus 7 at less money than the 10 with the added advantage of an sd card slot. I have been happy with the purchase.

currently playing a tiefling "anti paladin in an evil campaign with the Soulseer racial trait. Death knell is is Favorite spell!

I use to love that multi class combo in 3.0 but pathfinder makes it tough to overlook the advantages of staying all 20 levels with one class. I do not think with the stats you have it is worth what you will lose. Mostly your average charisma and barely decent wisdom

Most gamemasters are not going to put an ancient black out there on a random table. It is a pretty rare if not unique encounter and if the group goes into it unprepared I would not call it an unfair TPK.

I beg to differ with your advice Chaoseffect but the magus can wear light armor with no arcane spell failure. A chain shirt will give AC+4 with no penalty. Also a ring of force shield incurs no armor check or arcane spell failure. The Amulet of Natural armor is not an option however since it will not stack with the NA bonus given by the Armor of the Pit feat.

I think Eidolons are only strong if you go for the "as many natural attacks as possible" route.

Getting a Eidolon to wear armor and wield a sword is not going to be very effective due to feat requirements and the lack of greater magic weapon on the summoner spell list. Also quite a few of the evolutions make you go "uh, what?".

Right, the problem with the summoner is not any individual thing it can do, or even how much 'umph' it gets. Its that the player is overwhelmingly free to choose it all. And thus they can put it all into smashing things, or being impossible to hit, or what ever take their fancy, thus making the eidolon better at this then most classes can acheive without some hyper optimization. If summoners had to take things like scent, and darvision for their eidolon in addition to combat or magical prowess, the class wouldn't be a problem.

The summoner should be the target not the eidolon in combat. Any intelligent enemy gets a spellcraft check in my game to notice that the big ugly and that wimp both have the same mark on their heads. Hey, let's hit that guy and see what happens!

If you are using older adventures that are not set up for pathfinder then you will have to modify. Pathfinder characters tend to be a bit stronger than old D&D characters. The pathfinder modules are pretty good and can be used as is if you are not concerned with building you own world setting.

Core rule book says" The form chosen must be that of an animal with which the druid is familiar"

How is this handled ingame? How does the druid know what animals he or she is familiar with? A druid from the far north wants to Wild Shape into a monkey that she´s never seen?

Asmo

This is where your GM really comes into play. If you want to wild shape into an unfamiliar creature for it's abilities that is what is known as metagaming and the GM needs to handle that. All in all it should be a cooperative game choice . It is a great ability used correctly

Charlotte here, but between my local and PbP games that I run, I'm all booked-up as far as Pathfinder time goes. :(

IMO, your best bet might be to head over the Greensboro and check around UNCG. I know more that a few folks from the Charlotte/Huntersville ren faire who go there and are into cosplay, theater, and fantasy — just the sort who might be into RPGs.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. I will have to check that out.
