Puzzles are silly because they're a player skill check instead of a character skill check. Do you make people bench press X pounds to bash down a door? If not authors shouldn't include these sorts of double standards when it comes to puzzles.

Well thanks for getting us as far as you did and being honest about things. I just ask that you move the game to inactive when you're ready. I hate seeing inactive games on my campaign page. =(


Are the numbers different on these doors?


I don't claim to know any better. The puzzles in this AP make no sense to me.

Zephyr could probably carry those scrolls around.

Zephyr is leveled. I grabbed the mithril buckler.

”So where to next?” Zephyr asks while Kix picks through the slain genie’s things.


Zephyr speaks a soothing word to calm her blind familiar and channels healing energy to sooth her allies' wounds.

Channel Positive (selecting out the bad guy): 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 1, 3) = 16

Nycar save to remove blind: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22


Is Kix dead or just down?

"Kix, no!" Zephyr cries as she summons a hampering hex.

DC 15 will. Even if he makes it he's -4 AC for a turn. Last round of battle spirit.


Bat-Nycar is going to stay and guard Zephyr for now.

"Thank you Beatrice. Be careful!" Zephyr offers after climbing down from the bat-car.


Oh, I thought the Shaitan's had made us stairs or something.

Zephyr directs her familiar to pick up Seif first. "If you're ready sir."


"Any sign of our opponent either?" Zephyr asks as the goblin looks around.


Zephyr reshapes her familiar again, this time into the form of a monstrous bat. "Carry us to safety dear."

Polymorph familiar into a dire bat to carry us up.


"Just follow Seif out. Quickly!"


"I tend to agree. Let's make haste!"


That's the idea at least.


Zephyr stops channeling and nods in agreement with Seif’s suggestion. ”Try it. We don’t have many other options.”


Nice! It's got a -4 penalty to AC for 6 rounds.


Oh, that was supposed to be readying to disrupt but it occurs to me that Zephyr has no spells prepared that’d work for that.

Zephyr will just hit the closest one with Hampering Hex instead (will 15 negates).


Zephyr continues to empower her allies while preparing a counter spell.

It got polymorphed into a bear during the last fight. The polymorph lasts 16 minutes.


Zephyr gets some distance and positions her ursine familiar in front of her protectively.

"We could dig", Zephyr offers thoughtfully. "Or we could look for another way down."


After examining the wand for a moment, Zephyr uses it on herself. "Hmm... this will be useful."

"What have you found there Churley? Do you think enchanted items might be stored in there?" she asks as she scans the passage for signs of magic.


Noticing that her now ursine familiar was having a hard time piercing the monster’s stony hide, she commands it to sit on the gargoyle instead.

Just bear-damage. No magic, silver, or anything else.


Zephyr cries out in surprise and pain as she’s painfully scratched by the monstrous guards. She retreats a step and chants a spell imbuing her protective familiar with polymorphic magic. As the nycar hops down from her shoulder it swiftly transforms into a mighty bear.

Stepping back and casting polymorph familiar.

Claw: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Claw: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Bite: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Grapple: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28


You said to not do anything but free actions so I thought stuff was about to happen.

Zephyr remains almost nearly still. "So that's it? No more riddles?"


At Kixzik's warning Zephyr goes completely rigid for fear of touching anything.


"A clear objective would be nice for once", Zephyr chimes in.


The formatting might be sloppy because I did it by hand but Zephyr is leveled.


Zephyr begrudgingly follows Seif's lead.

When the ritual's completed and Churley's restored she hugs him tightly. "Welcome back!"

Zephyr will be taking another level in Evangilist but I'm at Paizocon currently and won't be able to level for a while.
