![]() Giving the others at the stall a polite nod, bowing differentially to the patrician, and noting the young desert dweller's unusual orange eyes with interest, she takes a look at the available masks. ![]()

![]() "Of course, Patrician Zaethus." Zelimah replies with a respectful inclination of her head, before glancing down at Mirabel with a smile. "I know it is, loud and chaotic, but you have nothing to fear." she says softly, to the young noble, before raising her gaze to once again scan the crowd for any sign of threat. ![]()

![]() As a distinguished-looking, if a bit less lavish that some others, patrician approaches the entrance, accompanied by a pretty young woman bearing enough of a likeness to most probably be his daughter, approach the inn, all eyes are drawn to the titanic specimen of a woman following along behind them. Her massive, well-muscled frame and towering height clearly marking her as a half-giant, she stands quiet yet alert, her amber-eyed gaze taking in all of those surrounding them, dark hair falling to one side, framing a pretty, yet intense face, highlighted by a vivid red tattooed pattern. Her hide armor, enormous club strapped across her back, and visible scars across her bronzed skin, mark her as a gladiator, even to those who were unlikely to recognize her from the arena. Her employer, patrician Zaethus Nauripides had selected her to attend Lady Athena's event with him and his daughter, both as a guard, and a bit of embellishment to their appearance there being a less prominent family. Zelimah takes in the variety of people present, some clearly wealthy city dwellers, while others looked to still have the dust of the open desert on them, nobles, craftsmen, and warriors alike buzzing with the excitement of this unusual event. ![]()

![]() So Punching to start and for now, I'll go with the one-handed style, until the benefits of using a shield outweigh the AC bonus. Maybe when the next chance comes (I assume when we level) I'll take the wrestling specialization ![]()
Female Half-Giant Gladiatrix (Professional) 3 | Hp: 75/75 | AC 4 |Regeneration: 1/5 turns | Attacks: 3/2 rounds
![]() Wow, punch specialization is no joke. +1 attack, +1 damage, +1 chart bonus (on top of my gladiator +/-4), and 1 extra attack per round. Like you said wrestling is great for restraint, and in both cases, being able to knock someone out can be really useful if we need to take someone alive. (something most parties are notoriously bad at) I think I'll specialize in both Punching and Wrestling and sit on the level 3 proficiency for now. By level 5 I'll have decided if to spend it on one-handed fighting for the AC bonus, or if to go for specializing with a better weapon. ![]()

Thanks that definitely helped. Re-selected weapons and will start with Specialization in War Club (likely the best weapon I'll have access to for a while) Banking the other 3 proficiency slots to specialize in a better weapon when I come across one (by level 5 I can choose two, or I can even choose a bow if I find one big enough) ![]()

![]() Oh, I figured that, but even non-metal. most of those at 1/3 cost are unaffordable, and for me, it'll be x2. Like I was considering Carrikal and had initially picked that as a weapon specialization. Makes no sense since I couldn't even afford a bone one. (533 for a large bone one) I'll have to re-tool my weapon proficiencies (specializations) Also, I swear some of these must be typos in the original material (I know you're transferring the source material over, it's not you) How on earth does the large version of a thrown or melee weapon do less damage than the medium version? ![]()

![]() By the way, you're doing an amazing job compiling all this information and making things easier to find. Your passion for the setting is clear. Is there anywhere where armor types cost and effect on AC are listed? ![]()

![]() I guess then I'd go with Arena Champion, although the fame thing might be more of a hindrance than a benefit with randos attacking you because they're fans of a rival. Would be a good reason for me to be at this shindig in the first place though ![]()
