![]() On the Carowyn Manor map, there are three sets of stairs, one up, and two down. One up is obvious, 2nd floor. But there's only one basement. So... 1. Which set of stairs lead to the basement?
Thoughts? I think its a great chance to add to the Manor, but I don't want to put in tons of work, since I'm prepping on Roll20. ![]()
![]() Does anybody have a campaign flow timeline? I thought I read somewhere that there could/could not be time for crafting, but as I read through the chapters, they really seem to be flowing from one right into the next with little or no quiet time. Between chapter 1 & chapter 2, then chapter 2 to chapter 3 seems to be the only time when there might be options to craft. Observations and/or thoughts? ![]()
![]() It is with great regret that I must tender my resignation and cancel my Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription. Once finances settle, I hope to renew it (and back order, of course!), but after 17 APs, I need to take a break. Many thanks for all the great memories. It is truly an amazing product! Thank your for saving our game! ![]()
![]() One of the things I loved about the later APs is that the level progression is spelled out. The APs tell the GM when the characters should make the levels throughout the campaign. So has anybody done it already for this AP? Possibly, maybe? Pretty please?! Basically, I don't dole out XP anymore. I just let the players know when its time to level up. Makes my job SO much easier. ![]()
![]() Correct me if I'm wrong, but Wild Empathy doesn't affect Vermin. It requires a druid or a ranger to take an archetype such as Blight Druid (Druid) or Dungeon Rover (Ranger) to affect Vermin, in which case they can't use their Vermin Empathy with regular animals. Can someone reference a rule or some such for me. My players are VERY stubborn and hate opinion. ![]()
![]() I don't really know where to post this, so I'll post this here. My girlfriend and I just spent the last hour arguing (discussing?) the rules mechanics behind spell casting and how the rules are written. The party is trying to gather together the necessary components out in the field to cast a Bless Water and a Consecrate, which is hilarity in and of itself. Anyway, my girlfriend, who does not play Pathfinder, pointed out the aggrivating difference between the component requirements for Bless Water and Consecrate, and that if they end up being the same thing (5 lbs of silver dust worth 25 gp, or 250 sp), then why are they written differently? So, in some future printing of the Core Rulebook, she wanted to know if they could be printed the same way, since they mean the same thing. I say they should remain the same so other nerds can have lively discussions with their signifcant others! ![]()
![]() Is there a book in Pathfinder that talks in some detail about the laws of various regions? I have two players who took the "Marked" flaw out of Tome of Secrets, and I've decided its time to use it. They're getting ready to enter a major city, and I figured that someone there would recognize them, and I wanted to have some basis on how to handle dealing with the character. ![]()
![]() Big Game Hunter doesn't appear as one of selectable campaign traits for RotR campaign. Was it rewritten and now only appears "as is" in the People of the North (as per my Herolab, as I don't own the book)? If so, does that make the trait Big Game Hunter that appeared as a Campaign Feat in the original RotR null and void and no longer legal? I'd understand if it is, as the new trait only affects animals, and the old one affected ANYTHING Large or larger. I'd guess that the Giant Slayer campaign trait replaced it. ![]()
![]() I know that when you use Detect Magic and Spellcraft to ID a wand, you get a command word, but what allows you to find out the number of charges. I've been digging through the Core Rulebook for awhile and can't find any definitive answer. We've been using Identify as the milestone, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. ![]()
![]() In an effort to support my local gaming store, I am canceling the following ongoing orders and will instead be purchasing them from the local store as they have supported our ongoing weekly PFS games. Thank you for the years of faithful mailing, and I look forward to continuing to receive the Adventure Path and Tales subscribtions in the mail, and purchasing the PDF's online as they become available. THANKS! Long Live PFS! Please cancel the following subscriptions

![]() GenCon is only a week away. This time next week, us volunteer GM's will be asleep in our beds getting ready to run for four days straight. Thought I'd share this. Just had my first bad dream about running at the Con. First I showed up late to my game because I wasn't organized and ready to go, dropping stuff as I ran towards my table. Then, the table kept stretching away from the wall where the outlet was for my laptop (not sure why I was using a laptop). Finally, some guy didn't have a ticket, so he tried to pay me 18 cents in pennies, saying it was the same thing. Very weird.... ![]()
![]() AH!!!! Sorry, had to get that out.. So I logged on yesterday to see what lottery events I'd won, and I saw that I'd been double booked for the 1PM - 6PM slot on Saturday, getting both Suicidal Strikeforce (which my "buddy" signed up for), and Twisting Plots: The Crowd Messes with Greg A. Vaughan's Game (which I'd signed up for). I didn't get a chance to post about this last night due to real life issues. I log on this morning to fix it, and see that both have been removed from my schedule and are now full. Thus.. AH!!!!!! Help? ![]()
![]() I guess this is a question equally for the staff of Paizo and GM's from last years PFS at GENCON. I'm starting my preps for GENCON 2010 as a PFS GM, and I've got some questions. 1. Are we required to print up our own session sheets for all adventures we may run? If so, by my calculations, assuming siz players a game for some weird reason, I'd need 60 sheets for each possible adventure, for a grand total of 720 sheets of paper. This, of course, assumes I only play one PFS adventure the entire time. 2. Speaking of which, to the GM's, when did you find out which scenarios you were running? Obviously, Josh and staff have some way of determining this, but I'm curious when you found out. 3. Do I need to provide my own faction mission sheets? Again, see question one for the # of paper's issue, but this time 1440 sheets of paper, since there are always at least two sheets for faction missions, and there's always the odd chance that everyone will be the same faction and want their own copy to read. 4. To the GM's, any general suggestions for running at the CON? I was there playing last year, and I noticed that GM's varied greatly in how they played, what material they brought, etc. I've been running 20+ years, but I wanted to get insight from people that have already run at the CON. I was planning on packing a rolling tote bag with what I'll need, and run from my laptop like I do at home to save on books and weight. Thanks for the info. ![]()
![]() Can a vrock take a 5-foot step while doing his 3 rounds of dancing, or is dancing consider a move type action? We had a DM "dance down the hall" after the party, get them in LoS, and then activate the burst. I think this is legal, since it says you can take a 5-foot step as long as your fullround action doesn't involve movement, but dancing is moving, so... Thoughts. ![]()
![]() If a creature has two claw attacks and gets rend, they inflict rend damage if they hit with both claws. I know this. Now a player tries to tumble by, and provokes AoO's. The creature gets off two more successful claw attacks, o e in each square that provokes. Does it get rend? According to the beastiary, a rend occurs when a creature makes two successful claw attacks in one round. Realism makes me want to add "while making a full attack action". According to the RAW, this doesn't hold true. So, if the creature makes two successful AoO's due to a failed tumble, it'd get rend. Is this correct? ![]()
![]() Character is falling 100 ft, but wearing a ring of feather falling. 1. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls for 60 ft., ring turns off, character takes 35 (40 ft.) of falling damage? 2. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls for 60 ft., ring turns off, character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character lands safely? 3. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls 95 ft. and lands safely? 4. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls 60 ft. End of round. Next round, character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character lands. Which one is the correct scenario. I'm guessing #4 is way off, and its either 1 or 2. I'm hoping 2, maybe 3, or my pathfinder society character just wasted 2,200 gp. Thanks ![]()
![]() For those that have been before, or are organzing this years Con... How late do festivities usually last on Sunday? Is it a "done at noon" thing, or do we run through the evening? Trying to set up my flight schedule/hotel room and want to see if I need to leave on Monday instead of Sunday to head home. Thanks. ![]()
![]() Two questions came up in my game last night. 1. Can a player expend a PA point to add a +4 to their stabilization attempt roll (+4 to a skill check)? 2. When a bad guy gets away with some of the treasure, how does this effect the total money earned. I ran scenario #10 last night, and after nuking the party with all of his spells, Niccum fled the manse. Since he denied the party his treasure, it should affect the total money earned. Am I correct that all treasure value is determined by dividing the money earned for selling the item at 1/2 price by 6? Also, if this is true, how do I value out the spellbook he had? Thanks Sarzalor has not participated in any online campaigns. |
